About damn time. Hard to hold law enforcement accountable when you cant even see their faces.

>The president - and by extension, everybody he commands - has absolute immunity from the law.
Republicans
>Law enforcement and government are special Constitutionally protected classes that have full rights to the 2nd and 4th Amendments but we, uh, yeah, don't think they are allowed to wear masks.
Democrats
There's your accountability.

>"[Masks] undermine their accountability. [It] enables them to commit acts of vandalism, assault and destruction of property without fear of identification or consequences for their illegal and violent behavior."
Republican Senator Paul Gosar in 2024, on the dangers of wearing masks when liberals do it.

Their views are tribal. Something being good or bad is based on who did it.

"Federal officials said they would “not abide” by the new law, which is likely to lead to a showdown in court." 🙄

I hope by court showdown they mean after arresting and charging them with state crimes NOT that they will file for declarative relief before enacting the new law.

Not likely police aren't going to want to get in a confrontation with the feds. Good chance the departments already had a memo go out saying to not enforce it. Even if charged it would get punted to federal court.

They love confrontations...they just won't confront feds backing a president most of them voted for. If Biden was president and their GOP governor told them to enforce not fed agents wearing masks i think it'd be different.

I feel like this is bump stock ban 2.0. Just passing stuff to make people feel like they're doing something.
Sure, it's a problem and I'm sure the Gestapo 2.0 feel emboldened when they can hide their face but it doesn't address the real issue because they're already breaking laws and states aren't arresting them because "federal agents" are basically immune from local laws. So what's this going to do?

Haircuts that look like aircraft carriers, spray tanned skin as far as the eye can see, and a malt beverage in every hand. Ice pissed off the wrong populace.
