New Poster for 'Hokum' Starring Adam Scott - When novelist Ohm Bauman retreats to a remote inn to scatter his parents’ ashes, he is consumed by tales of a witch haunting the honeymoon suite. Disturbing visions and a shocking disappearance forces him to confront dark corners of his past.
Also, Caveat is criminally underrated in my opinion, or at least more unknown than it ought to be.

Caveat was scary, but I didn't understand the plot. I thought Oddity was more of a complete package.

Really hoping a couple theaters show oddity before this comes out. Loved oddity so much when I watched it at home, feel like it’d be a great theater experience

Saw oddity in a packed theater and it was one of the best theater experiences. The movie itself I thought was only so-so but it is filled with some of the best jump scares out there and it was SO much fun to watch with a crowd (and not in a bad horror movie way - in legit scare mode).

Caught it at SXSW. Loved it. If you dug Oddity, you WILL dig this.

Nope. Just a good old fashioned spook house horror movie.

I liked Caveat more. Oddity was kinda predictable. Had a few creepy moments tho

Yeah a scene near the end of that gave me a more visceral reaction than a horror film has for a long time

Something about the word 'hokum' being used for what looks like a serious folk horror film feels deliberately ironic. Like they're setting expectations that it's campy or silly, and then delivering something much darker. I'm intrigued.

Considering the Irish setting, I wonder if Ohm a reference to Ogham…

This is literally Alan Wake. Without the parents' ashes part. And Wake's cosmic horror.

Alan Wake movie when? Come on Sam Lake, you hack!

Alan Wake's best left as a game, it feels like a movie would lack the meta quality that makes AW such a brain bender. You have to be the one who discovers things at your own pace.

I swear, I feel like I'm the only person in the world that doesn't understand the praise of the Alan Wake games. 2 felt insanely predictable and obvious every step of the way.

Same director as Caveat. I wonder if he'll be able to beat that one scene with the corpse.

Sweet another horror movie about a character grieving and confronting the dark corners of their past. Not enough of those these days.

I get that horror has evolved to tap into other negative emotions besides fear but I am getting pretty sick of all of the huge ones tapping into depression. I already deal with that daily, horror was one of my escape genres.

I hope this has comedic elements to it. I can’t ever see Adam Scott as serious 100% of the time, it’s just impossible for me, even with Severance.
