This poster makes me question this director’s ability to climb a ladder and his pelvis integrity.

Perstigeless Apr 2, 2026 +40
I see a serious qwomp coming for this movie
40
YesImKeithHernandez Apr 2, 2026 +13
Isn't it qwump? Like Quiad Bump?
13
Perstigeless Apr 2, 2026 +6
I've wondered that myself but it seems they pronounce it qwomp unless I'm misremembering.
6
YesImKeithHernandez Apr 2, 2026 +3
Judging from the youtube comments they called out about Rescue Dogs 3D, it seems like qump may be what they're thinking. Either way, righteous kill

The floating head in the middle (after "director of") is the best part. I don't know who it is, so I'm going to assume they wanted to show us the director. I also wondered why they didn't mention he directed the new Naked Gun, but apparently that was the *other* director of Popstar

This looks like neither a Jorm Thorn nor a Kiv Peeve, this looks awesome!

Samara Weaving and bloody massacre themed horror comedies, name a more iconic duo. (seriously how does she have like 10 movies that fit this)
1340
indamoufofmadness Apr 2, 2026 +421
She's like a blonde Bruce Campbell.
421
alliwantedwasajetski Apr 2, 2026 +88
That's pretty funny because the first thing I ever saw her in was Ash vs Evil Dead.
88
indamoufofmadness Apr 2, 2026 +15
Same here, but it's even weirder than that. I was house sitting for my brother, and after work my first night there I picked up some LSD, dropped a tab, and started channel surfing. I hadn't had cable in awhile, and they had all the channels, so I was stoked. Then I came across Starz, which was showing Ash Vs. Evil Dead. I had NO IDEA that the show even existed, and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Then I realized they had the first four episodes, which at that point was all that had aired, free on demand. So I tripped balls and watched the first four episodes, and had the time of my damn life because it was everything I would have wanted it to be if I had known it even existed in the first place. When I finally got to the episode Samara Weaving was in I was absolutely floored by the love and attention the series had gotten.

It’s her scream, lol. It’s iconic.
130
AgorophobicSpaceman Apr 2, 2026 +102
She’s my favorite final girl by far. I feel like so many have a good scream (not like hers though) but don’t ever convince me they are also a tough badass quite like she does. I believe in her fury lmao.
102
psyopia Apr 2, 2026 +40
Exactly it’s like this indescribable viking fury
40

I’ve been meaning to watch long legs, might have to finally put it on tonight
3
Antrikshy Apr 2, 2026 +3
Also watch Watcher (2022), which is not as horror-y but also great.
3
ImpressionFeisty8359 Apr 3, 2026 +2
A lot of people didn't like it but I thought it was awesome. The guest is a must watch.
2
FrostyD7 Apr 2, 2026 +12
She was only in part 6, hardly an iconic entry in the franchise.

18

Rex has the best backstory
9
GirlsCallMeMatty Apr 2, 2026 +51
V in V for Vendetta, Elrond in LOTR, Red Skull and voiced Megatron for the Michael Bay Transformer films.
51
DNihilus Apr 2, 2026 +22
I didn't know LOTR was science fiction thanks for the heads up
22
GirlsCallMeMatty Apr 2, 2026 +21
I mean yeah I guess your right that it’s “high fantasy” but I mean it’s just such a seminal work and its influence is felt throughout sci-fi that it’s hard not to just throw it in there.
21
SomeCountryFriedBS Apr 2, 2026 +9
I could argue that Sauron's army of orcs and Uruk-hai are borderline sci-fi.
9
matryanie Apr 2, 2026 +3
Cuz they grow from mud?
3
hedoeswhathewants Apr 2, 2026 +6
There's effectively no difference between magic and fictional tech in sci-fi
6
alienfreaks04 Apr 2, 2026 +7
The genre differences are in other areas. But it’s also why Star Wars OT is very much a fantasy movie with sci fi elements.
7
Its_the_other_tj Apr 2, 2026 +2
Been a while since I've done a deep dive into LotR, but weren't the wizards basically space angels sent down to fight Sauron?
2
bindingofandrew Apr 2, 2026 +6
It's not, but it's such an achievement of film it's hard not to bring it up
6
Exotic-West3751 Apr 2, 2026 +8
Lord of the rings is medieval sci-fi
8
CranhamorBlakely Apr 2, 2026 +4
Isengard definitely has some steam-punk vibes
4
eatfoodoften Apr 2, 2026 +5
Mortal Engines (ok maybe not defining but still entertaining)
5
we_are_sex_bobomb Apr 2, 2026 +159
Someone recently said she’s created an entire horror subgenre called “Samara Weaving kills people and gets covered in blood”. And I love this subgenre apparently.
159
Nunwithabadhabit Apr 2, 2026 +52
She has the gnarliest scream, it yodels like crazy. Probably the best scream queen that's ever screamed IMHO.
52
fastfreddy68 Apr 2, 2026 +31
If I had a nickel for every time Samara Weaving starred in a bloody massacre horror comedy…
31
cire1184 Apr 2, 2026 +4
You'd have like 50 cents!
4
Muted-Low-5303 Apr 2, 2026 +7
I’m just wondering if she ever sleeps her and Kathryn newton seem to make like 10 movies a year
7
3-DMan Apr 2, 2026 +4
I read that they tried to get her for Boy Kills World but she was unavailable. That would have been a rough but appropriate role!
4
ImpressionFeisty8359 Apr 3, 2026 +3
Funnily enough Jessica Rothe looks similar to her.
3
yameteeeeeeeeee Apr 2, 2026 +207

so Samara Weaving really likes these types of movies huh?  Ready or Not 1+2 The Babysitter 1+2 Scream Azreal all movies where she is trying to kill someone or fighting back against people that want to kill her  Not the niche I would have expected

2
ladymushroom26 Apr 2, 2026 +4
Honest question, why?
4
Harbi181 Apr 3, 2026 +2
Too much focus on the antagonist; he wasn’t likeable enough or had enough charisma to have center-stage for so much of the runtime. Also, I LOVE Samara but aside from a few set pieces in the house, it didn’t really “feel” like her character was a globally-renowned Pop Star. She did just fine with what they gave her, but what they gave her was more like “rich California loner socialite” than Popstar.
2
all_is_onn Apr 2, 2026 +18
Mayhem is such a great movie. More people should watch it!
18
Alpha-Trion Apr 2, 2026 +8
I watched two movies called Mayhem in one day. The first was a Thai/French martial arts movie that advertised itself as similar to The Raid. It was ass. The second was the Samara Weaving office massacre movie. That was way better.

Honestly I bet they’re fun to film since it’s just a comedy slasher. It’s unserious and entertaining, and that’s fine.

Eenie Meanie
7
xotorames Apr 2, 2026 +5
I was disappointed in how small her role was in Scream 6
5

Good for her
5

Eenie Meanie is something different and she kills it too. Looking forward to that movie with Kyle Gallner - Carolina Caroline.

Olyphant can do no wrong
351
Soup-a-doopah Apr 2, 2026 +116
He is the reason I’ll be watching season 2 of Alien: Earth. Juliet Lewis is due for a big hit too! I need something to get rid of the bitter taste that Yellowjackets season 2 left me.
116
Left4Bread2 Apr 2, 2026 +27
Same, I basically only care about Kirsh and T. Ocellus I do kind of wish that they had just wrapped it up or made it anthology, I don’t think it super feels like something that needed to be extended another season (though I know that’s how things get made these days)
27
Sewer-Urchin Apr 2, 2026 +9
I agree. It was going really well, until the final episode where >!every major character suddenly developed impenetrable plot armor and managed to survive clearly lethal situations!<
9
TiredCoffeeTime Apr 2, 2026 +2
I was hyped for Drosera build up. Episodes of constantly being shown hanging from ceiling and doing nothing else. Then all it received was a dark blurry action scene across the room with no detailed shot at all unlike every other creatures. Behind the scene seems to show the team trying to work with practical effects but couldn’t and ended up adding it entirely digitally last minute with not enough time for detailed shots.
2
Sleightly_Awkward Apr 2, 2026 +12
Babou Ceesay killed it as well. Loved that character.
12
Soup-a-doopah Apr 2, 2026 +6
I would love for them to spin a spy thriller dynamic between Kirsh (Prodigy) and Morrow (Yutani). Their rivalry is going to be epic
6
KendalBoy Apr 2, 2026 +5
So excited to be seeing her in Rocky Horror on Bway next month. Juliet is an icon.
5
YagottawantitRock Apr 2, 2026 +5
>He is the reason I’ll be watching season 2 of Alien: Earth. Same, which is really saying something. The lack of an overall plan from his character was probably the most frustrating part of the whole finale. So much of the season doesn't really make sense if he wasn't explicitly shutting down security cameras or ordering guards elsewhere on the regular. But...apparently not?
5
TiredCoffeeTime Apr 2, 2026 +2
I really thought there was going to be more to him. Like he has his own secret plan etc. Then he just loses the fist fight and gets locked up
2
CrissBliss Apr 2, 2026 +4
She was phenomenal in Yellowjackets.
4
FrothyFrogFarts Apr 2, 2026 +4
> He is the reason I’ll be watching season 2 of Alien: Earth. Man, that show started solid but just went off a cliff and the finale was horrendous. Sigh, I'll probably hate watch season 2 though.
4
TheCrowing817 Apr 2, 2026 +23
I was wondering if that was a batshit crazy looking Olyphant
23
prezuiwf Apr 2, 2026 +15
He looks absolutely unhinged in this poster
15
Nrksbullet Apr 2, 2026 +6
His image on the left side of the poster is horrendous! Lol what in the hell is that? It's like a picture you'd see on MySpace
6
CrissBliss Apr 2, 2026 +6
I don’t think he’s been in a horror movie since Scream.
6

He was in The Crazies remake, was pretty good.
12

6
ofimmsl Apr 2, 2026 +152
This is the same plot of the Norwegian movie The Trip
152
Mistercleaner1 Apr 2, 2026 +99
It's a remake, I believe
99
cespinar Apr 2, 2026 +9
>!or the actual ending from The Trip!<
9
ell_hou Apr 2, 2026 +3
Should've had Noomi Rapace reprise her role and let Axel Hennie direct.
3
JP76 Apr 2, 2026 +77
It's a remake. Tommy Wirkola, the writer/director of the original, is credited as a writer on this.
77
pikeymobile Apr 2, 2026 +9
Ah that's good to know. As soon as I read the details in the title I was thinking "wait, this is just The Trip?". I only recently saw it and loved it, so I'll be interested to see how this film stands up to the original.
9
MichelleEllyn Apr 2, 2026 +9
Thank you! I knew I had seen a good movie with this same plot and I couldn’t remember what movie it was! I’d recommend it to anyone interested in movies like this.
9
bluediamond12345 Apr 2, 2026 +9
I was thinking of Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but without a trip
9

That was a fun movie.

If the "I came here to murder you" line in Forgetting Sarah Marshall was serious
34
thejesse Apr 2, 2026 +10
I love his delivery of that line.
10
fermcr Apr 2, 2026 +26
It's a remake of the movie I onde dager (2021) .... [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13109952/](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13109952/) The original is a good movie.
26
miojo Apr 2, 2026 +112
That’s a bad poster
112
Beauly Apr 2, 2026 +26
I feel like they were trying to go for some artistic parallel with how the bloods dripping down the two characters, but really it just looks like in a video game when all the characters have the same 'battle damage' decal just flipped or rotated.
26
enilea Apr 2, 2026 +5
Sometimes I wonder if they make them bad on purpose so people don't think it's a high quality oscar worthy movie and maybe they get more sales like that
5
saintmosk Apr 2, 2026 +5
That was my first thought.
5
TheGuyYouKnowAlready Apr 2, 2026 +104
I’m excited for this but wow this is a terrible poster. Olyphant and Lewis look very photoshopped, plus the random action shots at the bottom corners, and the random guy photoshopped on top of the house??? Graphic design is my passion ass poster
104
imbusywatchingtv Apr 2, 2026 +28
Olyphant looks like George Lopez in that poster.

3

He’s too old to be playing her partner. He looks more like her Dad.
133
SodaEtPopinski Apr 2, 2026 +55
I also thought so in the beginning, but apparently he's 46 and she's 34. Still a non-negligible difference, but smaller than what I thought
55
we_are_sex_bobomb Apr 2, 2026 +87
She looks a lot younger than she is and he gives off massive amounts of dad energy, so I think it’s more about that than their actual ages.
87
hex___appeal Apr 2, 2026 +7
It's been weird watching him go from Mike in SLC Punk (or even his Judd Apatow characters) to a guy with "massive amounts of dad energy". You're not wrong, though. I'm getting old.
7
gnarlyram Apr 2, 2026 +3
Looking at his filmography and then seeing him on Shrinking is a trip.
3
SodaEtPopinski Apr 2, 2026 +5
That makes a lot of sense
5
chewytime Apr 3, 2026 +2
That was my thought at first. Thought she was like in her 20s and he in his 50s. The age gap isn’t as bad as I thought, but just going off appearances, it doesn’t work.
2
dontbajerk Apr 2, 2026 +21
If they lean into that difference (about 12 years) and what their relationship dynamics are like based on the original film, it will actually add to it really.
21
mr_mufuka Apr 2, 2026 +5
Thank you. That was my first thought. He looks and acts way too old for her.

3
Comic_Book_Reader Apr 2, 2026 +3
She's gonna be in full on Mallory Knox mode in this and I'm looking forward to that. Honestly, the cast and crew is mainly what has me a little optimistic with this one, despite it looking more or less like the original verbatim.

2

This is a remake of a European film. The original was solid.
2

This is a remake right of a foreign movie right? I think I’ve seen it, the Trip or something like that.
2
Pubocyno Apr 2, 2026 +3
Yep. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC5MwTuEeeg Although the original title "I onde dager" is a lot better, ie. "[in good and] in evil days". As long as they don't exclude the shitting nazi hiding in the attic, this should be a long, dark laugh.
3
tobiasvl Apr 2, 2026 +3
>Although the original title "I onde dager" is a lot better, ie. "[in good and] in evil days". And just to be even clearer, "in good and bad/evil days" is the Norwegian version of the wedding vows which come right before "till death do us part"
3
donaldbino Apr 2, 2026 +2
Saw this was one of if not the best movie they showed at SXSW. Very excited for this
2

Is it just me, or would the poster look better if Samara had her gun aimed at Jason too, like he does? Edit-since the picture’s bout killing each other.

Wtf? I zoomed in on the credits and is that "The Dean of Mean" Keith Jardin? Trippy if so. All seasoned actors and Keith the 10 years ago retired UFC fighter. I'm gonna assume he's playing some killer or something if it's him. I doubt it. Maybe I can't just read all the letters.

The poster has a very old school dark comedy vibe. feels like something from the late 90s or early 2000s
