>In an opulent villa beneath the Catalonian sun, American siblings Jack, Ed, Anna and Robert wallow in isolation and their inherited fortune, eschewing the demands of their blind father, and seeking love and validation through each other and their latest designer clothes. When Jack, the eldest brother and linchpin of this family, announces that he is moving in with his girlfriend Martha, blood ties are severed and Ed is forced to uncover the truth surrounding their mother’s death. Generational lies begin to unravel, and the fabric of this family slowly begins to disintegrate. A biting satire about the absurdity of the traditional patriarchal family.

The petals have hints of stubble near where his upper lip and chin should be, and pores where his left cheek should be. Really great subtle touches that make it that much more subconsciously unsettling.

It’s a fairly grotesque, cynical farce about the most vapid, depraved and awful family of rich, hot Americans you’ve ever met. It’s written by a frequent collaborator of Yorgos Lanthimos, so you maybe can guess this is getting pretty wild and weird. It honestly isn’t a bad film, the soundtrack kinda slaps. It has the subtlety of a sledgehammer and there is at least one scene I wish I could permanently erase from my memory, but it’s pretty entertaining.

This is a cute dismissive reply that assumes way too much. Me thinking the v***** poster and the "biting satire about the absurdity of patriarchy" is a pretentious bore doesn't imply I have bad taste in film. It implies you'll watch anything with a slow zoom and some violins so you can pretend you're smart, but it doesn't say anything about my favorite movies. Which are basically Magnolia, Synechdoche, and I don't know, let's go for a weird one... I Heart Huckabees.
