Except there are more than two sides, aren't there? Israel, Hamas and the Palestinians, who did not vote for Hamas.

Well, they actually did vote for Hamas. Not all of them of course.

The Palestinians did vote for them and support them.

Interesting that this story launches immediately after the NYT article. Does that make this right? Hell no, but this timing is very "odd" and totally not another campaign to bury the atrocities that the IDF does

To provide a counterpoint: [Palestinians expose torture and sexual violence in Israeli detention | Sexual Assault News | Al Jazeera](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/5/7/palestinians-expose-torture-and-sexual-violence-in-israeli-detention) This sub blacklists Al Jazeera so I'm just putting it here.

A couple of considerations for this report: * The methodology appears to be very rigorous, but I actually can't see the underlying data or any references to it being independently verified. * The facts laid out I think are similar to other reports from the attack, mostly. * It's definitely a biased report, the group who produced it describe themselves as below. It doesn't mean what they write is incorrect. >The Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes Against Women and Children was established to document and raise international awareness of the war crimes and gender-based violence committed during the October 7 attacks and in captivity. Led by Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy, a 2024 Israel Prize laureate and expert in human rights and international law, the Commission works to give voice to victims while addressing the denial and under-recognition of these crimes. >The Commission has developed a dedicated war crimes archive to systematically collect, preserve, and analyze evidence. Built by a multidisciplinary team of researchers, legal experts, and trauma specialists, the archive serves as both a memorial and a rigorously documented historical record. Supported by prominent international figures, including Sheryl Sandberg and Prof. Irwin Cotler, the Commission has helped raise global awareness, foster international partnerships, and advance efforts toward recognition and accountability. The whole conflict, right from its roots to now, including the 7th Oct attacks, has been horrific. I just hope a peaceful solution is found soon, but given the long history I am not convinced it will happen any time soon.

New report by... An Israeli committee, financed by Israel governments & businesses, created to "raise international awareness of the war crimes and gender-based violence committed during the October 7 attacks". This isn't independent research, this is just pure propaganda.

Except this literallly did not happen. What did happen is the systemic raping of Palestinian prisoners to the point they paraded a man on trial for doing it as a hero. Both of these things can be true at the same time, and do not excuse each other.

I absolutely agree, Israel systemically discriminates and condones abuse and even torture of Palestinian civilians and prisoners and much more, I'm sure, I definitely do not support them. I thank you for providing a source too. 'Except this literallly did not happen.' All reputed sources I've seen indicate to the contrary, including the article in the post. Hamas is no saint either, and we need to acknowledge this is not a black-and-white problem. Please do provide a source for your first statement.

Palestinians also support and condone and even support the torture of Israelis and after Israelis it will be another group.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Two things can be true at the same time. The IOF rapes daily. Hamas raped victims during their attack. One does not justify the other. They are both hateful groups.

dylan4824 1 day ago -45
IOF members are confirmed to assault prisoners every day. Hamas members are claimed (quite likely) to have assaulted people on Oct 7th Do you find these things to have equivalent morale weight?
-45
MapleBaconBeer 1 day ago +15
No one said they hold the same weight, but the original comment said only one of those statements is true, which is a blatant lie.

You drew the equivalence brother
-25
TeethBreak 1 day ago +12
They are both equally hateful and despicable. Pretending one has a higher ground is some bullshit. Nothing can excuse mass r*** and torture. Doesn't matter the side, the war, the time.
12
dylan4824 1 day ago -12
You are drawing an equivalence to an assault (Hamas) and a system of brutality (Israel) and in so doing you devalue the suffering of the Palestinian people. If you think that is somehow making excuses, the morale rot has truly eaten your brain
-12
TeethBreak 1 day ago +16
You think what the Hamas does is helping anyone?? You're deluded. Their leaders aren't even in Palestine. F*** 'em all.
16
dylan4824 1 day ago +1
So like, Israels genocide is helping.. Israel I guess? Does that make it okay? Netanyahu is literally in the US rn, what is this double standard?

TeethBreak 1 day ago +11
Did I say that? Or is that what you want to read and understand to feel like you're justified in your comment? Have I given you the feeling that I was defending the IOF or bibi's fascist régime?

…except for the first few days after October 7th we literally saw family getting massacred and dead r*** victims being carted away. Then the bots updated and we had to feel sympathy for the rapists and murderers and that the murders and rapes were actually justified. I’m not going to defend Israel as a country. As much as I understand why there should be a Jewish state given their treatment in other countries I think it’s government are completely evil and corrupt. That doesn’t mean I will defend r*** and murder.
