A calyx is a husk around a flower or fruit. Perhaps you mean clathrate? (Alas, Techtonica, we hardly knew ya)

Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do anything to slow it down. Yet we won’t, not while corporations and oligarchs have capital to gain.

Completely agree

This is completely wrong. Science has known we are already intervening in the wrong direction for over a century and science has been warning us of the impact for decades. More empirical evidence of what is already statistical certainty won’t change that. We are the wrench among the cogs in otherwise sustainable global cycles.

There are models that say it's reversible but I can't see the political will to implement what's necessary.

I have no doubt that you're the dumbest person in any room you enter.

Bit much. Made made climate change has locked in a degree of warming already, and we are seeing global systems affected now. There are feedback loops that can intensify the rate of warming. I don't see evidence that politicians are willing to take decisions needed to reverse things. Feels rather hopeless to me

What's that? Yet another major source the models didn't take into account because it wasn't known? But we are supposed to believe these models?
It's so far out of our control it's hilarious. Stop trying to reduce emissions and all that shit and start preparing for a much hotter place to live.

If you are stupid enough you just ignore and make it worse

Let's piss in the wind, while we could be preparing. We've shown time and again we don't have near enough info to indicate anything than a general, accelerating trend.
It already looks bad and it's assuredly accelerating. Let's pretend doing things like electrifying passenger cars will help.

Start planning if you’re resilient enough to be able to survive The Road, otherwise just try and have a good time while it lasts.
