Completed last year without a clear release date? This feels like a shelved movie that had an uncertain roll out that just found an easier way to sell it as “Nicholas Brendon’s last role”…

Idk about that. I have a lot of friends in film, and I hear from them constantly about indie projects getting drawn out really long in post-production. Sometimes it’s a creative decision/direction issue, but most often it’s a money thing. Filming often goes over the very tight budget, and then they’re left stretching what’s left. Folks have to spend a lot of extra time scrounging up funds (or favors) for all the details that go into finalizing a film (color grading, sound, etc)

This is all true. My comment is on the fact that the director seems to be spending the day after his star’s death to scrounge up the publicity and potentially funds to do just that…

Ah okay, I see what you’re saying. I guess when you said “shelved” I assumed more of something being shut down, rather than something chugging along slowly. You’re right though, the publicity of it being his last project is definitely going to help them (not trying to sound like a psychopath, it feels icky to say, but definitely true)

It is premature to say it feels like a shelved movie. Indie movies can take a while to release

Another article I read said they had delayed it while Nick was dealing with health issues.

at least they're going to release it. Jason David Frank's last movie is \_still\_ waiting to be released postumously years after it was compelted.

I had no idea he was still getting out there, getting parts, let alone getting a leading man role. That shows you the trust that the film makers had in him, and that he completed it without any bad news, should be a testimony to the progress he made. F*** sake, RIP.

There's no way this film could possibly suck worse than Piñata/Demon Island (2000). What a turd of a movie.
