I hate that I'm not seeing tons of posts all over listnook like during past protests. Whenever past protests were happening I could open listnook up and see videos from all over the country throughout various sublistnooks.
Listnook removed the /all/ feature from the mobile app so that they can control what shows up on our feeds or under the popular feed. Moderators for certain sublistnooks are outright removing no kings posts.
Right now the only no kings post I see on my home page or on popular is a karma farming bot that posted a clip from a prior LA protest trying to insinuate that it's today's protest. It does make me happy to go to sublistnooks of specific cities and see how big the turnout is, I just hate how suppressed things are across the more mainstream side of listnook.

That's why I tried posting streams from a few indie streams without talking heads and cherry picked minutes. I had multiple up at the same time and even though I was not there, I was feeling the energy. I tried to make it easy for others to feel that as well. I've never been the person to post links like i did, but I felt the same way you did. I saw too many FOX CBS,XYZ articles with titles like "hundreds gather for no kings". But very few that adequately showed the scale.

I was watching one of the streams from.. I think no kings 1 but not 100%sure.. But LAPD was just standing around laughing and chilling while throwing gas canisters and those flash/bang things at non-violent protesters. No one was rioting or in danger and they were clearly having fun. It was absolutely disgusting. Then of course cherry picked scenes were used to show how dangerous LA was. It was a live stream on YouTube, so they clearly knew that the people who mattered (maga voters) wouldn't see the scene where they were laughing.

It's nice and it shows everyone that they are not alone in their hatred for this guy - but make no mistake, this changes nothing.

Mate I see your point and all but hes not leaving until he kicks the bucket. That is the reality we live in and denying that is just burying your head in the sand. The goal of these protests is creating unity and coalition-building. For millions of US citizens, the centralization of power in the executive branch produces feelings of anxiety, fear, anger, and helplessness. Joining activities is helpful in alleviating those feelings, increasing knowledge, and empowering more meaningful action.

I think people too often don’t understand the spirit of a protest, and frankly that goes for the people in them too. Just left one in Indianapolis, IN and the biggest thing truly is just outreach and information.
You’re right, even if it’s every citizen marching, that alone won’t remove Trump, but it lets the government know that more and more people are pissed off. Whether it’s to establish with a new organization, learn something new, connect with others, or spread awareness of problems to people who may not be in the loop, it’s an information war. Getting people fired up and passionate about the issue, voting, creating discourse between us and elected officials are real, attainable goals. I don’t ever expect a protest to be the reason Trump is removed from office or convicted and serves time, but I expect it to help create the pathway to that outcome

Authoritarianism gains power by making people feel powerless. Every vote, voice, and act of civilized protests matters. Authoritarians want you to believe there's no point in voting, speaking up, or protesting.
Apathy, inaction, and complacency are still choices with consequences and are the decision to be complicit with authoritarianism. Without loud opposition, authoritarianism wins. Every single American complaining about the state of things better be asking themself if they want to be a part of the problem or solution, focusing on the latter.

I've been checking YouTube to see what the streets look like with the hope the people will realize their power and stand up against authoritarianism and the existential threat your deranged president poses to the world. I want our countries to be friends again. We are a forgiving bunch and understand you're in a tailspin of crazy right now. But it's up to y'all to unfuck this mess. That’s ok though, protest all you want. It’s encouraged because it’s your right. It’s funny that you make Trump out to be a king though. Then it should also not surprise you that no matter what you protest, it won’t make any difference at all. You will feel safer among others that feel the way you do so that’s not a bad thing right? As a Canadian who misses the friendly relationship between our countries, please stand up for democracy and decency. Speak out against authoritarianism and corruption that is dragging the world into existential threats and mass suffering. Be loud and unignorable. The world is watching today and every day to see what meaningful action you are all taking to demonstrate accountability and that you are going to be on the right side of history.
Authoritarianism thrives when people are complacent and apathetic or when they feel helpless and powerless. Action creates inspiration and change. Inaction gives permission to authoritarians. People have immense power when they come together, united (it's literally in your country's branding), and stand up for meaningful change. It's been done again and again. Look it up if you don't believe me, but please take action. We all need this right now. We need hope and belief that the future is bright. Please participate today and every day until the change we all need and deserve is reality.

And then a third didn’t even go vote.
So the “oh wah people Americans don’t want to be reminded that they massively fucked up and that’s why their gas is too high, the stock market is in the tank, job growth is flat or negative and the f****** eggs are still too expensive - so how about this time they don’t vote like they’re f****** morons who think the Leopards Eating Faces Party won’t eat their god damn slack jawed stupid faces cause **reminding the American people they were really stupid in 2024 will hurt their poor wittle feelings**.”

I really hope you're using your eyes then, because that was their main point literally in the first sentence.
Who are they dividing exactly? You really think people who didn't vote are going to be offended by that comment? If anything it would help people come to the realization that simply protesting (either from home or out in the streets) isn't enough, voting is what matters.
And if I had any say in this, I'd say a general strike is the way to go rather than another No Kings protest.
3
Federal_Drummer7105Mar 28, 2026

Yeah. Cause there’s no conversation. People were stupid and either they can say “hey I was stupid and shouldn’t have stayed home or voted for the court proven rapist and fraud.”
Evangelicals were stupid and now they’re suffering. Next time they shouldn’t be stupid by voting with the rapist and p*** star f*****.
Young men were stupid and now they’re suffering. Next time they shouldn’t be stupid by voting with the rapist and p*** star f*****.
Insert group here that was stupid and now they’re suffering. Next time they shouldn’t be stupid by voting with the rapist and man who launched a mob to kill his own vice president.
There’s nothing to divide here. Either people vote for their own self interests or they’re stupid fucks and get what they deserve.
There isn’t a conversation to be had. So good luck in life and hopefully you’re not one of the stupid fucks.

People are out on the streets daily and weekly. This is just one of many organized protests happening across the country. I’ve been to a dozen this year alone.
People keep telling on themselves with these types of comments— just cause YOU aren’t engaging with your community resistance, doesn’t mean ALL of us are
6
EmcleraldMar 28, 2026
I’m glad you live in an area where you are surrounded by this, but I’m not. I live a very rural, southern area. I’m going to what I can and to what is accessible to me. From my end, I’m seeing them happen every few months, if that. My point still stands that not enough is being done in areas where there can be.
So instead of educating me, or some positive reinforcement on the end of the protests, you decided to assume I’ve done nothing on my end.
Also I literally said doing more, not less. I want to be able to take more action. If I was complicit I would’ve kept my mouth shut.

Educate you? Why is that my responsibility? You’re on a phone or computer. You’ve got all the knowledge and resources in the world at your fingertips. Take some responsibility for yourself.

If you want people to be educated, then it is absolutely your personal responsibility to do so. I'm watching a black woman speak at an event right now. Saw some Latinas earlier... Don't spread this bullshit. Trump and Republicans are the white nationals so f*** right off.

i don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it might be due to the gestapo activities that take part against brown people with rampant surveillance machine being run against them
white people are out because we’re the safest, we understand why others aren’t 😂

look, you can say whatever you want but there are people from all races, nationalities and religions going to these protests. We get that you want to minimize them but millions are turning out

I mean yeah there's racism in the US but you can't just say they're all bloody racist and why would you even think it's a farce? I mean if I was mexican i won't show up there, i would get deported or worse.

This is a “we don’t like that Trump is President” protest. Better luck next election.

No, I'd protest regardless of who the fascist was, it just happens to be this racist, grifting, useless sack of orange shit and his new version of the Klan wearing red hats instead of white hoods.

No. We’re protesting ICE’s abuse, a war not approved by Congress, ego based tariffing, market manipulation by policy makers, the still illegally unreleased half of the Epstein files, trampling of the constitution amongst a slew of other issues.
I’m sorry you can’t comprehend that and need to reduce it down to “you just don’t like Trump”

Replied, automod is deleting links.

eeply: I’d take these protests more seriously if these people were more concerned about the expansion of executive power during Democrat administrations. Guess only red kings are bad.
Had_to_make_this_up: That’s not a serious argument.... you don’t get to wave away CURRENT executive overreach by saying, “well you weren’t mad enough at Democrats before” that isn’t a defense of what’s happening now.
