Take the engineering scholarship. You're a good writer, but there are a lot of better writers who are better positioned and you will spend your life circling the freelance arena, working retail and in kitchens to make ends meet. In the end, your Great American Novel will be self-published and will not come close to your anthology of transgender p*** in terms of sales. Take the scholarship. Build things. Don't make your much-beloved hobby your job.

Don't dwell on the past, since you never know how your scholarship choice might have turned out. Some people took your path, met a beautiful girl, had a affairs, and ended up with AIDS. Others pursued their talents, persevered, and became wealthy. You never know; you might fail and still get AIDS. My advice is to only regret the bad actions you made, like hurting people. not the actions you didn't do, like not choosing the scholarship.

Dude, I'm not dwelling. I was just answering your question. I don't regret my path; I just know there are other paths I could have taken. 17 was one of the major digressions.

life is going to be hard as childhood was hard. I would tell him to love people and not let go. spend more time drinking and doing drugs with your friends. let maddie go be a doctor or something and to forget any dreams of success just chill with the people who love you.
