Phoenix PD is notoriously corrupt and have been in trouble with the FBI multiple times for infringement of citizens rights

Maybe in the past. Something tells me they're cool with the FBI for now

Rights are a mere suggestion to conservatives, not a citizen guarantee.

Rights after for white Christian gun toteing MAGA men, you silly goose.
100
Lampmonster Mar 22, 2026 +48
Until they run out of others, then rights will be for white evangelical Christian gun toting MAGA men over sixty. They require an out group and the in group just keeps getting smaller.

You forgot land-owning.
24
TheModWhoShaggedMe Mar 22, 2026 +39
Once they've eliminated liberals and progressives as viable democratic opposition, the purification will begin within the conservative body itself. Evangelicals vs. Catholics. Baptists vs. Lutherans, Christians vs. Jews, etc. The regression never ceases with cons.
39
sunburnedaz Mar 22, 2026 +16
People forget it was only in the 60s and 70s as the US was getting less religious that people started lumping all denominations together. Before then if you said you were Christian that would not be accepted you would then be asked ok are you methodist, catholic etc. People forget that it was a big controversy that JFK was Catholic. And it was a way to solidify voting blocks for conservatives.
16
TheModWhoShaggedMe Mar 22, 2026 +13
And 60 years later, conservatives had flipped the tables to the point where a majority of Catholics wouldn't vote for Biden, a Catholic. Ugh.
13
michoudi Mar 22, 2026 +8
In the USA, a lot of people are more devoted to their political party than their religion. I’m not even religious and I can see how absolutely absurd that is.

Because it's the fake religious patriot cosplay game. All hollow symbolism and style over knowledge of history and genuine substance.

As someone from the Valley, I can tell you that ***all*** law enforcement in Maricopa County is corrupt as f***! We kept voting for Arpaio no matter how f****** *openly* corrupt he was, or how proud of his little concentration camp, Tent City he was. That f***** used the MCSO has his own private army to stalk, harass and intimidate employees of the Phoenix New Times, since they were about the only media outlet that would cover Arpaio's abuses of power. Then you got the Mesa Police Department quietly re-hiring Mitch Brailsford just long enough to collect a disability pension\* after being acquitted for executing Daniel Shaver in the sickest version of Simon Says either. Brailsford's sergeant, who was the one shouting those conflicting orders *knew* they were fucked so he retired and fled to the f****** Philippines. ***Do not watch the bodycam footage unless you wanna have your week ruined,*** because that poor f****** dude was so scared and confused while begging for his life. Oh, and MAGA? BLM marched for Shaver in 2016, because it didn't matter to them that he was a white man executed by police, just that he was a human executed by police. So stop acting like y'all showed up or that BLM doesn't care when it's a white person, because they care more than the NRA did when Philando Castile was executed for properly informing the police that he had a weapon in the car. Despite Phoenix leaning left in elections, the rest of Maricopa County and most of Arizona outside of Tucson and Flagstaff is conservative as f***, and they love it when the police overstep their bounds and extrajudicially deliver "justice" to "criminals", their code for non-white people. It's why [fascist leg-humpers like Arpaio](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Arpaio#Presidential_pardon) stayed in power for so long, and why murderers like Brailsford can be acquitted of murder charges. It also helped that Brailsford was a good li'l return missionary for the Mormon church, because the Mormons set their hooks *deep* in Arizona after they settled in the Salt Lake Valley, and the phrase "return missionary" will taint the *f**** out of a Mormon's perception of a person. That is no joke, I was born and raised in that cult and heard "but he's an RM and from such a good family, there's no way he'd use drugs" countless times in reference to the a******, drug abusing and selling son of my bishop, who was currently engaged in bank and wire fraud while our bishop.^\*\* As soon as I heard Brailsford was Mormon, I knew no jury in Maricopa County would convict him.   ^\*and ^his ^disability? ^Developing ^PTSD ^for ^suffering ^the ^indignity ^of ^being ^fired ^and ^charged ^with ^second-degree ^murder. ^He ^only ^had ^to ^be ^on ^the ^Mesa ^PD's ^payroll ^for ^6 ^weeks ^to ^apply ^for ^a ^"accidental ^disability" ^experienced ^during ^the ^course ^of ^work ^pension. ^It ^worked, ^and ^he's ^earning ^$2,500 ^month ^for ^life ^no ^matter ^what ^he ^does. ^\*\*FBI ^arrested ^him ^and ^half ^his ^family ^for ^bank\wire ^fraud, ^conspiracy ^and ^money ^laundering ^about ^a ^decade ^after ^he ^was ^our ^bishop. ^That ^was ^the ^*least* ^surprising ^news ^I'd ^ever ^heard.

All PDs are notoriously corrupt. The L.A. pd was under investigation by the F.B.I. and it was so infested with cop gangs so bad they stopped the investigation. Yet morons still worship them as "heros" because of a uniform. Heros do heroic things. I can put Jeffrey dohmer in dress blues and he'd look good but still a serial killer cannibal. Put a bully in a police uniform and you still have a bully, but now he has the right to ruin uh our life for thier own amusement. edit LASD. birds of a feather ...
214
MiaowaraShiro Mar 22, 2026 +82
> I can put Jeffrey dohmer in dress blues and he'd look good but still a serial killer cannibal. One of Dahmer's victims escaped and was able to find a couple of Milwaukee police officers. Because Dahmer convinced them the boy was his gay lover and it was a domestic dispute the cops sent him back to Dahmer. The victim did not survive. Those cops were not punished in any way and in fact went on to promotions and I think one became chief. Edit: https://www.marquette.edu/cgi-bin/cuap/db.cgi?uid=default&ID=1112&view=Search&mh=1

7
MiaowaraShiro Mar 22, 2026 +5
That was it!
5
theghostofme Mar 22, 2026 +3
And upon retirement in 2020, the union's social media was praising the dude until they finally deleted or locked those posts from public comments, LMAO That was *not* the year to be praising a cop who was so terrified of teh gay™ that he gave a drugged and bleeding 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone **back** to one of America's most notorious cabalistic serial killers ***while*** people were begging the cops *not* to let that boy go back inside with Dahmer. Fuckin' idiot and his partner *had* Dahmer two months and five more victims before his Arrest, but let him go with one of his victims because they were so homophobic that letting a weird gay guy like Dahmer keep his drugged pet was more preferable than doing their jobs.

I stg they need to teach this in school. At 18 I had one try to strong arm me into saying I assaulted a fast food worker and they saw it on camera. I hadn't so I just sat there staring at her but I was bewildered and a bit shocked to find out later that it was totally legal. Was it naive? Yup. I was 18 tho and didn't socialize with many kids my age so I had no idea.
9
SugarBeef Mar 22, 2026 +4
Wasn't the victim bleeding from a hole in his head, too? Just to add to how badly those cops failed.
4
guydoestuff Mar 22, 2026 +5
yeah i know. like i said putting a uniform on does not make one a hero. your are cosplaying a hero till you actually do something heroic which most cops wont do.
5
hardolaf Mar 22, 2026 +35
You're thinking of the LASD not the LAPD. The LAPD is mostly a stepping stone for people who want to become law enforcement officers in the region as they're one of the only agencies willing to train people from nothing but they have much lower pay than other departments. That's not to say the LAPD doesn't have issues, but they haven't been accused of having gangs.

Phx is LA lite and wouldn’t doubt some of these losers tried to start their own here
2
Electrocat71 Mar 22, 2026 +11
Our entire police system is just layers of corruption and immorality based upon their qualified immunity, their ability to have laws for us and laws for them, which have turned them into the biggest gangs in the country… all by design.
11
theysayimadreamer666 Mar 22, 2026 +11
I worked with a woman whose husband was a Phoenix PD officer. He wanted to change the institution from the inside and reported civil rights violations. I don't remember if he was fired or hounded so much that he quit, but in either case, the stress of it was so bad he ended up in the hospital, and he never went back to police work. The system is set up to make it almost impossible for good people to stick to their morals and have a career.
11
fullmetaljackass Mar 22, 2026 +4
Similar thing happened to my neighbor. He'd been a county sheriff's officer for years, and was unhappy with how the department's standards had begun to drop. Most of what he was taking issue with wasn't even blatant corruption, more like people just half-assing it because they knew they could get away with it. He filled all of his complaints "anonymously," so I'm sure it was a total coincidence that his career advancement came to a screeching halt after he started complaining.

We keep hearing this about every PD office.

i_am_a_real_boy__ Mar 22, 2026 +3
It would be weird to hear anything at all about a PD office that wasn't in your area unless it was having a problem.

Feels like this is true for all PDs.

4

Excuse me, but you seem to have written "Phoenix PD" when you actually meant to write "Every PD".
4

In 2024 the DOJ began the process of entering into a consent decree with the Phoenix PD. Guess who had the investigation dropped.
3
Cervical_Plumber Mar 22, 2026 +11
Without googling it, I feel like you might be mixing up Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and Phoenix PD. MSCO certainly has the most notorious rep around here. edit: I stand corrected. Both our major police forces around here are fucked up. Oh, and don't forget to add Mesa PD, which on the street level has the reputation as the biggest scumbag cops.

8
HerculesIsMyDad Mar 22, 2026 +33
Hey, maybe we can all use this loophole but just don't know it. Next time I get convicted I'm gonna say: "Your honor, you actually can't sentence me for this crime because I hereby officially retire."
33
tierciel Mar 22, 2026 +41
Sound like 3 people who should lose their pension.
41
HongChongDong Mar 22, 2026 +10
I would like to see a system that can investigate and apply punishments to police officers in a similar capacity to the military. Basically a court system that can strike their career record as dishonorable barring them from federal benefits related to their police work, the ability to hired in any other federal position, and their identities permanently marked on easily accessible public registry. Treat the fuckers like felons and sex offenders just without the legal repercussions of prison and fines.
10
Bagellord Mar 22, 2026 +3
Oh they could be punished if the government could be bothered, it just might take slightly more effort. Like they could have criminal charges, fines, deductions to retirement benefits, suspension of credentials/licenses if applicable. But the goal isn't to punish them, so none of this happens
3
kembik Mar 22, 2026 +4
It should be a crime, they should be in jail.
4

57
eeyore134 Mar 22, 2026 +29
Yup. First there's the obvious ties to overseers on plantations. But even more-so is their link to private security for the rich. Then the rich figured out "Hey, if we tell people that the security is also for them then we can use their money to pay for our private security." And here we are.

It goes back as far as Ancient Greece where slaves outnumbered free people 10 to 1. They needed a way to keep them from resisting.
2
Unfair_Web_8275 Mar 22, 2026 +4
It wasn’t long ago that the White House shared an AI altered photo of a protester.
4
FartMongersRevenge Mar 22, 2026 +3
Don’t forget the part where the Maricopa county prosecutor’s office forgot to charge a bunch of drunk drivers, as well as these very protestors. Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel was a drunk and she had checked herself into drug rehab and a bunch of charges Then once she got out she was awol for a week an it turned out she killed herself. All this is a year or less after it was revealed that the police department had a Facebook group that was filled with racist shit and the chief was in the group. On top of all that the Phoenix police had shot a protester in the nuts with bean bags. Those cops made a commemorative coin that said “Goodnight left nut” which is an intentional reference to the Nazi slogan “Goodnight left side”.

The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association expressed disappointment in the internal investigation's outcome. “We do not believe Sergeant McBride violated our policies, and we will be responding to this report in due time," PPSLA President Ben Leuschner said. I guess all the good cops are on vacation again cause none of them have the balls to speak up a bunch of f****** cowards.

Largest, most powerful and protected union in the U.S. = Law enforcement which is incredibly ironic considering the well established disdain for labor unions that conservatives harbor.

That’s just a gang with extra steps
77
lofgren777 Mar 22, 2026 +32

Eventually we'll be back to "You never liked Trump to begin with."

4
PipsqueakPilot Mar 22, 2026 +20
Important to note that the The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association believe that their officers did nothing wrong by repeatedly lying to judges and grand juries. It's the official position of the Phoenix Police that they can lie under oath in order to secure an indictment.

Warcraft_Fan Mar 22, 2026 +12
One officer retired and collects $98,000 pension. So he's pretty much untouchable by his lies unless FBI finds something that could forfeit his pension. Meanwhile the city taxpayers has to pay for the victims wrongly arrested and harmed.
12
ThePensiveE Mar 22, 2026 +12
No group in society commits more crime than cops. They just cover up for one another and have created police unions, which exist specifically to protect corrupt cops.
12
Needs_More_Cacodemon Mar 22, 2026 +12
> However, sources tell ABC15 all three officers who violated policy are now retired and can’t be disciplined. This shouldn't be a get out of jail free card. The discipline process should continue and whatever punishment applied state-wide. If they try to later hire on with another department, they will still have to face punishment.

Taking the law into our own hands is how we hold these corrupt pigs accountable.

Doing so without a judges order will have you branded a vigilante. Better to instead petition for the outlawry process to be brought back, as anyone can legally kill an outlaw

Story time.. My friends neighbor was a DPS officer and captain for 27 years and retired. Now to let you know DPS works all across my state so they have to deal with every city's police force. One day we were shooting the shit and I was asking him about the different police departments in our metropolitan area. Chandler PD, Gilbert PD, Mesa PD and Tempe PD. He was just giving me the breakdown of each and generally liked working with those police departments. Then I asked him about Phoenix PD. He got a more serious look on his face and said, "I would be very careful with those guys." I asked why is that he said, "there is a very heavy white supremist (he's white btw) group in that police department and it's rife with corruption." So I had first hand information from a guy that worked at the highest level of his job for nearly 30 years telling me this.

Sue them for everything.

Thetruthislikepoetry Mar 22, 2026 +10
Yeah, nothing corrects bad police behavior like taxpayers writing a check.
10
Sekh765 Mar 22, 2026 +2
Since they retired, can't you sue them as individuals now for their breach of civil rights?
2
Thetruthislikepoetry Mar 22, 2026 +7
The alleged offenses happened when they were employed so I’m guessing no but IANAL.
7
davoust Mar 22, 2026 +9
Course not. That would be accountability.

Isn't it the prosecutors who decide which charges to being?

It's so funny. Blatant corruption, misuse of power, discrimination, killing and terrorising their fellow citizens... and Americans still are too docile to do anything about these things that have been going on for decades. Americans are a f****** joke.

Ithinkth Mar 22, 2026 +4
Very disappointing that the Department declined to discipline officers. Is there any chance the victims can win in a lawsuit?
4
Nill_Bye_ Mar 23, 2026 +4
Of course they won't be disciplined, this is what they want to do.

Guys didn't you hear, they investigated themselves and found nothing wrong. Obviously that should end it
3
Sirius-Face Mar 22, 2026 +3
This is so typical that its become boring. The people themselves need to correct pigs when they don't live up to the standards the people expect out of them.

Does anyone have any integrity anymore? Jesus Christ. I normally don’t have facial hair, grew out a mustache, a friend bet me that I couldn’t go one hour without touching it. I did after three minutes, she didn’t see me, I just told her I did it. I have a moral compass. This is what is lacking.

Even if someone were in a gang, isn't that a 1st amendment protected affiliation?
