Really enjoyed the first season. Second wasn’t bad, but felt like they misunderstood what made the first great and pushed in the wrong directions.

I thought the second season was good in the individual moments but the overall plot was just redoing the first season down to the break up and getting back together.

Same.
In fact, I'd go as far as to say the supporting cast got more to do & better plot beats than both main characters.

Have you seen the new Percy Jackson series on Disney+
The actor who plays Sasha is Tantalus in the second season of PJ. It was odd going directly from him as Sasha to him as Tantalus

All I know is Jason Mantzoukas is in Percy Jackson. I have no idea what it’s about but I’m always open to new shows if you think it’s enjoyable

I didn’t know he was in it but would pretty much give anything a chance if Mantzoukas is in it

It's a YA show with some mythology. I recommend it if you like those things, but only if you like those things.

It's very much a franchise that isn't that much fun for adults, at least in my opinion. Every time I've seen a bit of it I've thought man, I would have loved this when I was 9 (but the first book came out when I was almost an adult).

Well put, mostly felt like a worse version of the first season. They could’ve made it lighter and more jokey or if they were looking at it as a long-running show, pushed deeper into their relationship. Mostly seemed like they weren’t sure what direction to go.

What was ultimately the point of the second season if it ultimately just hit almost all of the same beats as the first? It’s one of those shows that feels like something is missing, the ingredients are there and sometimes it works but overall it’s not ‘there’.

I’d argue that it’s the most realistic depiction of a restock ship ever put to film. S1 is the honeymoon phase but still dealing with their individual problems as a couple then s2 expands to the couple dealing with their individual problems external pressures of being a true couple and trying to merry all the different aspects of both lives together.

I enjoyed the second season although, if we’re being honest, it was pretty much just a rehash of the first season (also, Noah’s mother threatening to break them up at the end of one episode and then never following through seemed odd as hell).

Honestly, the reason I enjoy this show is because it’s comforting and the wider cast is enjoyable, the families feel real. It’s not really about the plot for me, so I like it as a show.

I find the main plot kind of dull, it was cute the first season but by the season 2 I was bored of their relationship. I mean it’s fine but it’s nothing special.
But I absolutely love Sasha and his wife and the sister. Their weird friend triangle situation is hilarious. There’s some subtle emotional depth there too. Timothy Simons is just phenomenal.
The Esther character is also really good on her own. They do a good job layering in some insecurities under her brash demeanor

I thought they really did a good job with Esther. She could have just been a 2 dimensional harpy, but they made her more an actual person.

I feel like a third season is set up to explore sasha and morgan while the main two stabilise. This whole ‘are u converting’ thing is so worn out. Tbh the early episodes of the show were the best, the feeling of nervous excitement perfectly encapsulates that feeling of sparks flying and falling in love

This deadline article says this show is expected to premiere in the fall of this year. How is that possible? There is no way right?

November is still fall, this isn't a show that requires a significant time in post production, each season is only about 250-300 minutes long in total, which is 4-5 hours, so you are looking at about 30-50 days of shooting and probably about as much in ADR/editing and other nonsense. So if they start primary photography around April/May they will still have plenty of time to release it in the fall.

Shows can easily come out in 6 or so months from end of filming if there’s not much work done in post. See stuff like Letterkenny, Only Murders in the Building, Slow Horses, The Bear.
1
caninehereMar 25, 2026
+1
The Bear is a perfect example - it releases every year in June (at least the first 4 seasons did, I assume this last one will be the same) and they typically wrap filming like 1-2 months beforehand. This time I think they wrapped a bit earlier because iirc it is already done.

10 half hour sitcom episodes don’t take long to shoot or edit, The Bear usually films around this time and releases in June
