The term "post-war" misleadingly implies that the war is over.

So according to this article, it was....three ships? The word surge there is doing some very heavy lifting

3 ships is a 50% surge from 2 ships!

At this daily rate next year enough ships will transit hormuz to change the spin of the earth

I couldn't get past the paywall but scrolled down. Saw another headline under related content, there was 26 Iranian ships (dated April 20th)

3 ships is infinitely more than zero I guess.

Anything to justify the current bull market.

So ships have started turning off their lights and transponders and running Iran's blockade at night? Does this mean rumors of mines were overstated or there is just a lot of water and these ships happened to get lucky?

They could have been hugging the coast of Oman like the cruise ships did if they are not running deep. In the end it doesn’t even matter if the straight is mined or not: no insurer will allow doing this with a big full oil tanker so it won’t make a significant difference in the situation.

The point of the mines is not that they are 'everywhere' it's that they could be 'anywhere'. Iran's real threat are the drones, the mines are just icing on the cake. That's not to say Iran could not deploy MORE mines if they wanted to, they have a huge stockpile. The problem with doing that is they can still accomplish their goals with a small amount and make their enemies spend more time searching for the ones that ARE out there. Also it was three ships.

The paper doesn’t seem to understand the meaning of “post-war”

Ceasefire does not equal “post-war”.

IRGC fired on a cargo carrier with machine gun fire today

For a cargo ship machine gun fire is not really dangerous

The fact that non-Iranian ships are going through while Iranian ships are not means the US blockade is working and being enforced while the Islamic Republic cannot enforce its own blockade. This is another sign that the Islamic Republic is losing power and will collapse soon.

Iran seized two ships and stopped a third today.
