Sounds silly but I would imagine that just about every espionage/intelligence agency in the world starts their day by simply scouring the headlines.

Yeah, all American enemies are aware the the US is being weakened internally and just waiting for the right time when this failed administration has us weaker than we've been in decades.

They know. They’re just waiting for the right time. Us has so many enemies. NK wants South Korea, China wants Taiwan, and Russia wants NATO out of Ukraine. The US made a huge mistake. All their focus is Israel leaving South Korea defenseless

There's no NATO in Ukraine. Never been. Ukraine was never on the path of joining NATO. That's just one of the many lies russia keeps telling because they know there's always someone who will believe it.
And at any rate, if they were so worried about NATO on their border (which was already the case: Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Poland and Norway), when Finland joined NATO they would have moved troops there, instead they moved entire units *away* and sent them to Ukraine.
Russia didn't invade Ukraine because of NATO, russia invaded Ukraine because it was *not* in NATO, so they saw an opportunity.

Didnt the guy word it wrongly? Not Nato literally. But resources like money and equipment to Ukraine. Of Nato gets distracted that means Ukraine will receive less.

>Ukraine was never on the path of joining NATO
[https://ua.usembassy.gov/u-s-ukraine-charter-on-strategic-partnership/](https://ua.usembassy.gov/u-s-ukraine-charter-on-strategic-partnership/)
# Section II: Defense and Security Cooperation
The United States and Ukraine share a vital interest in a strong, independent, and democratic Ukraine. Deepening Ukraine’s integration into Euro-Atlantic institutions is a mutual priority. We plan to undertake a program of enhanced security cooperation intended to increase Ukrainian capabilities and to strengthen Ukraine’s candidacy for NATO membership.
1. Guided by the April 3, 2008 Bucharest Summit Declaration of the NATO North Atlantic Council and the April 4, 2008 Joint Statement of the NATO-Ukraine Commission, **which affirmed that Ukraine will become a member of NATO**.
[https://2021-2025.state.gov/u-s-ukraine-charter-on-strategic-partnership/](https://2021-2025.state.gov/u-s-ukraine-charter-on-strategic-partnership/) \- There was also this one in Nov 2021. December 2021 Russia issued an ultimatum to NATO regarding Ukraine which was rebuked then in Feb 2022 Russia invaded Ukraine.
You can disagree with Russia without rewriting history to fit your narrative. The war in Ukraine is almost entirely to do with Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO.

Ask anyone who was aware of the process: they were as much on the way of joining NATO as of joining the EU: it was pie in the sky and wishful thinking from the Ukrainians. Then in 2010 Yanukovich was elected, and it was a dead end, and after the 2014 invasion started, it was completely off the table.
3
African_HerbsmanMar 14, 2026

I'd agree that there's a good chance it would never have happened but there was no guarantee they wouldn't, it's why Russia issued their ultimatum in December 2021 wanting guarantees that it would never happen.
The second link I shared was from November 2021 and still made mention of Ukraine's NATO ambitions.
>Guided by the April 3, 2008 Bucharest Summit Declaration of the NATO North Atlantic Council and as reaffirmed in the June 14, 2021 Brussels Summit Communique of the NATO North Atlantic Council, the United States supports Ukraine’s right to decide its own future foreign policy course free from outside interference, including with respect to Ukraine’s aspirations to join NATO.
...5. The United States remains committed to assisting Ukraine with ongoing defense and security reforms and to continuing its robust training and exercises. The United States supports Ukraine’s efforts to maximize its status as a NATO Enhanced Opportunities Partner to promote interoperability.
The NATO website states the following "Under NATO's partnership policies, the strategic objectives of NATO's partner relations are to:
* Prepare interested, eligible countries for NATO membership"
It does all give the impression that Ukraine joining NATO was still an ongoing process even if it was unlikely. Russia simply wasn't taking chances.

That kind of excuse is like a burglar saying “I heard the owner mention that they wanted to get an intruder alarm so I had to go in and steal while I still could. If they didn’t want me to steal, they shouldn’t have wanted an intruder alarm”
Like I said earlier: russia lies so much and so often, that there’s always someone who starts believing and repeating their lies, talking about NATO this and NATO that, and inevitably moving the conversation away from where it should be: human safaris in kherson, tortures, abductions of children, rapes, etc.

North Korea still has to deal with South Korean military though, while drills make sense, North Korea would be foolish to engage South Korea, but not saying KJU wouldn't make that mistake at the whim of China's influence.

Yes, in real life the US dumped a huge amount of napalm and soldier's lives over decades in Vietnam. It was a decades long war with the final result being the US pulling out and Vietnam's communist government taking full control.
We lost that war. That's real life history. A lesson that should be making anyone nervous about Iran. Home turf advantage in difficult terrain is huge. No amount of bombing civilians will make you win a war.

The US is very short on weapons. And you can bet N. Korea and China and Russia are fully aware. The US is stretched thin and defensives are already being redistributed to make up for losses.

Missiles that fly off into the ocean to a brand new destroyer just sinking on launch, all classified or corse
