Ya, that’s interesting and all, but the article had zero updates about the design choices of the new White House ballroom.

There will be gold everywhere, real gold. Where the gold come from you ask? Wasn't there a news about Fort Knox gold vault empty. Yeah that's where the gold will come from
356
Real-Ad-1728 Mar 16, 2026 +127
No, they’ll just pocket the gold, spray paint the ballroom gold, and say they used the real gold.
127
yamirzmmdx Mar 17, 2026 +24
Some say they stored the gold at a place called El Doral.

Trump is somehow several Austin Powers bad guys at the same time. He's Goldmember because he *loves gold*, he's Fat B****** because, well... He's also Number 2 because he shits himself all the time.

He's number 1 too. Didja see his wet trousers and him checking if he peed on himself?

Ballroom schmallroom ... The new project is spiffing up those columns at the Whitehouse because damn it they're just not ornate enough! Who wants to make a bet if they'll be covered in gold leaf or not?

And the bunker he is building, of course.

I heard your boy is also looking at replacing the classic styled pillars on the front of the White House, seems like a smart and reasonable thing to spend money and time on.

I was in Home Depot yesterday, and I heard somebody from the next aisle over loudly talking about how rich we were all going to be once we had won the war against Iran because the oil would be so c****. It made me want to scream.

How many Charlie Kirks would that be?

Scream_Tech7661 Mar 17, 2026 +37
A week ago today, Big T said the “war is complete, pretty much.” That was on a Monday. On Tuesday, the U.S. had its largest offensive strike since this began. Based on Big T’s comment, you’d think this thing would be wrapped up by now. I mean, come on, it’s not like this particular president would lie to us about something as serious as a war, right? I mean not a war. I mean a war. I mean not a war. Wait one second…new information coming in. Okay, messages received. We’re back to this being a war.
37
Popular_Insurance_79 Mar 17, 2026 +6
They had also ‘completely obliterated’ Iran’s nuclear facilities 6 months ago only for Iran to be a ‘couple of weeks’ away from having nukes. How people still believe anything that comes out of Trump’s mouth is beyond me
6
Hikingcanuck92 Mar 18, 2026 +2
Yeah. These are just 200 incidents of stubbed toes. Don’t worry about it. /s
2
Birdman330 Mar 16, 2026 +475
All injured for nothing, there has not been one coherent reasoning as to why they are there from anyone associated with our government. We gotta get them outta here.
475
RaceFPV Mar 17, 2026 +105
Idk all the MAGA folks in my local community think its to prevent iran from dropping nukes on us, at least thats what they all repeat. Not that that is in any way reality, just reporting from a battleground voting area what im seeing real time.
105
Spankpocalypse_Now Mar 17, 2026 +69
Same brainless sheep who thought an endless war in Iraq was a good idea.
69
oblivion476 Mar 17, 2026 +16
But did you consider that they'd like to drink a beer with the guy? Makes the death and debt worth it according to the US media I had to hear for 20 years.
16
Lukeno94 Mar 17, 2026 +7
Even for the Iraq War, they bothered to come up with a consistent and potentially believable lie to explain it away. They haven't even managed that with Iran.
7
heckin_miraculous Mar 17, 2026 +12
What you say is true, and it's another example of how Trump is just running the same imperial machinery, but with no mask. 1950s = "we're doing it for democracy (don't mention the oil)" 2000s = "we're doing it for security (don't mention the oil)" 2026 = "f*** it, we want all the oil. f*** y'all." Trump's gift to the world is to show everyone the depth of the disease, so we can root it out and build the future we want.
12
Massive_Armadillo646 Mar 17, 2026 +5
No, it's just the opposite - we've gone so far right he doesn't have to hide it anymore. He has dictatorial powers now.
5

2

All injured for the sake of someone named Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu.
129
siencatimini Mar 17, 2026 +7
No reason? What about blood for the blood god? He needs that blood, or things are gonna get ugly.
7
the_gaymer_girl Mar 17, 2026 +24
Their reasons have so far included: - They’re going to attack us - They’re going to attack us after we attack them - We want to destroy their military (applicable to basically any country) - They’re trying to get a nuke (no they’re not) - We want the oil (without occupying Iran, how?) - We want regime change (they don’t care)
24
BiteTheAppleJim Mar 16, 2026 +645
Last I saw we had 13 dead and now 200 injured. We haven't even sent in the "advisors" yet. This is a worse start than Vietnam.
645
Red1220 Mar 16, 2026 +378
I honestly believe that it’s significantly worse than 13 dead at this point, unfortunately.
378
Captainbuttram Mar 16, 2026 +155
Yeah they don’t report private contractor deaths like blackwater or CIA assets in those numbers.
155
Eggonioni Mar 17, 2026 +62
Most of the world considers little of mercenaries. Is that not the correct way for them to be treated? The business of violence as a service isn't thought of highly.
62
theHoundLivessss Mar 17, 2026 +27
Yeah, but it helps them hide the realities of the war which helps them better promote it to a public who would likely demand withdrawal if they understood its realities. This is why neocons like Cheny and Bolton (who always wanted to attack Iran) wanted to get pmcs embedded into the American military industrial complex. They allow them to wage wars without that messy oversight business that used to hold them back. Also, really recommend Blackwater by Jeremy Scahill for those who haven't read it.
27
Whole_Animal_4126 Mar 17, 2026 +3
This is why 10k American deaths is true but will be under mercenary category.
3
jetsetninjacat Mar 17, 2026 +3
I think Iraq and Afghanistan had over 10k private contractor deaths which include regular contractors like truck drivers and concessions as well as the ones who were fighters. Last I read(10ish years ago) over a quarter of them were foreign internationals. Its the same thing we're seeing in Ukraine with Russian groups like wagner. A nice way for the government to ignore the death count number. I wish I could find the video and article I saw on Iraq and Afghanistan contractors back in the mid 10s. The numbers really stuck with me.
3
crogameri Mar 17, 2026 +11
As if the US military isn't a glorified mercenary service to American billionaire interests lol.
11
king_of_river Mar 17, 2026 +7
When was the last time an American soldier was killed protecting American borders from foreign invasion?
7
crogameri Mar 17, 2026 +2
World war 2 probably, though it's questionable if that was ever about defending American borders either.
2
fevered_visions Mar 17, 2026 +2
Mercenaries' use in war is actually illegal according to the Geneva Conventions, but somehow PMCs "aren't mercenaries". Explain that one to me. >Art 47. Mercenaries > A mercenary shall not have the right to be a combatant or a prisoner of war. > A mercenary is any person who: > (a) is especially recruited locally or abroad in order to fight in an armed conflict; > (b) does, in fact, take a direct part in the hostilities; > (c) is motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, is promised, by or on behalf of a Party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that Party; > (d) is neither a national of a Party to the conflict nor a resident of territory controlled by a Party to the conflict; > (e) is not a member of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict; and > (f) has not been sent by a State which is not a Party to the conflict on official duty as a member of its armed forces.

It’s always the first handful of casualties that get mainstream coverage for the stupid ass “rally round the flag” circlejerk but then the reports get quieter

Supposedly 10 soldiers were KIA in a drone attack at Camp Victory in Baghad 1 to 2 days ago.

7
Malaix Mar 17, 2026 +10
I've seen footage of Russian soldiers getting chased around trees in heavy forests by drones before the drone popped them. They can be extremely maneuverable. Its like trying to hide from a bug that is also a grenade.
10
DPool34 Mar 17, 2026 +11
I have zero trust in the numbers coming out of the Pentagon.
11
Chrystoler Mar 17, 2026 +6
Well, our glorious genius of a leader decided that Vietnam was too slow and just skipped straight to sending multiple thousand Marines in. I truly think it couldn't get more stupid and evil. I don't know why I don't ever think that that, at this point

People should’ve realized he was trash the moment he insulted John McCain for getting captured during a war.
2
sergiocamposnt Mar 16, 2026 +47
The number of US troops wounded is still not even close as high as the number of Iran's civilians deaths by the US. Americans like to call others "terrorist", but the US has been the biggest terrorist country in the world since Nazi Germany ended.
47
crozone Mar 17, 2026 +27
It's barely higher than the number of Iranian girls killed in that single school bombing. We all know how this is going to go based on Operation Iraqi Freedom. The US lost a few thousand troops, but the violent civilian casualties were in the hundreds of thousands.
27
Spudtron98 Mar 17, 2026 +2
What, is this your first war?
2
Aggressive-Kitchen18 Mar 17, 2026 +7
Probably much higher. Hospitals in Qatar and Germany were inondated weeks ago with Wounded US soldiers. I believe news is slowly trickling down.

Probably still less than the kids they killed.
6
Yakassa Mar 17, 2026 +6
"Dad why did you lose your leg?" Well you see, the fuhrer needed to distract from his child molesting, so he started killing people with bombs and believe it or not, we got bombed back. Crazy how that works. "Dad, are we the baddies?"
6
sharty_mcstoolpants Mar 16, 2026 +10
WTF? Really? 150 dead in one school vaporization and we still claim the moral high ground? Jesus f****** christ.
10
jhirai20 Mar 17, 2026 +5
I mean he's about to send 5000 soldiers to their deaths. Conservatively, a ground invasion will be more costly than the Iraq war. Iran has two times the population and four times the territory of Iraq, w/ mountains. And we had a coalition of allies who were willing to die with us in 2003. A ground invasion now would be suicidal. Clearly zero thought was put into this war.
5
Jrecondite Mar 17, 2026 +5
Going to be crazy when Americans are getting drafted to go to the war that is not a war.
5

4
TOMC_throwaway000000 Mar 16, 2026 +5

I just want to point out 1 thing. The US bases that got messed up all over the middle east in several countries we have all seen lists of would consider themselves American and those numbers are not shown. Don't tell them we don't count them as Americans because that wasn't the deal.

A year from now in this quagmire these numbers are going to seem positively nostalgic.
10
siencatimini Mar 17, 2026 +5
This guy is definitely gonna break every record for the number of American casualties, during his splitshift administration. Something like half a million, just from the first year of covid, and then this war, by the end of his tenure, will probably be cranking out at least a few hundred bodies every week, if not more, for years on end.
5
FoxyInTheSnow Mar 16, 2026 +17
Well, they started it. (and it doesn't even match the 140 (ish) school girls blown up on the first day, never mind the many, many hundreds of civilians and children killed since then by these 'merican "heroes".
