Official poster for Elliot Tuttle’s ‘BLUE FILM’ starring Kieron Moore and Reed Birney. F***** camboy Aaron Eagle agrees to spend the night with an anonymous client, and discovers a disturbing tie to his past. In theaters in NYC on May 8 followed by a release in LA on May 15.
Whoever wrote 'featuring scenes that would leave even Gaspar Noé gasping' deserves a raise. That's doing a lot of work on one line.

Heard this was rejected from Sundance and SXSW due to its subject matter.

I've read what the reveal is. I'm not going to say it here but it's available if you want to find out

Well, Blue films generally have a good track record so far, between Blue Velvet, Blue Valentine, Blue is the Warmest Color, Blue Ruin, Blue Moon, Blue Jasmine, etc
Edit: And Perfect Blue, and Three Colors: Blue (and if you like movies that aren't necessarily 'good' but are a fun time, Deep Blue Sea)

I guess they really took the title literally with that color grading

That poster and tagline are doing a lot of heavy lifting. Looks properly unsettling

Does anyone know if this is based on Graham Greene’s short story of the same name?

Nah this seems to be a camboy who does a big no-no and meets up with an older client irl to discover something in their past that relats them to eabh other.
This is in the new queer cinema subgenre probably.
