In my honest opinion, Iñárritu's best film and one of the greatest Mexican titles ever. A nice companion to *21 Grams* and *Babel* as "The Trilogy of Death".
Be warned that this is quite raw though.

man this movie still messes me up 💀 el chivo's storyline with cofi just broke me completely, especially after what happens to his leg. the way iñárritu connects all three stories through that one crash is insane - like you don't even realize how perfectly it all fits until the third act hits you
gael garcía bernal was so young in this but already incredible, and that dog fighting scene... brutal but necessary for showing octavio's desperation. valeria's whole arc with richie trapped under the floorboards had me on edge the entire time 😂 such a perfect debut for iñárritu before he went on to do birdman and the revenant

Loved the line from the mom refusing to babysit her grandson; "I've already raised my children".
Yeah, what a fantastic job you did there...
