For the same reason people rightfully say that Health Insurance conglomerates kill people by denying claims, it isn't the literal actions taken that kill. United Healthcare wasn't LITERALLY taking a gun to people's heads, it's just that: faced between lifelong crippling, inescapable debt, and death, they chose death, because in America, being poor is tantamount to a death sentence anyways. You become a second class citizen, incapable of participating in society, huddling under a damp freeway until the weather, a junky, or disease, takes you anyways.
In a similar vein, desperate people hoping for a better life join the military for its pay and benefits, so desertion risks everything they've been trying to build. If you die in the desert, you get called "hero" and you're family gets a very nice pay out along with a free flag, if you get thrown in jail and dishonorably discharged, you're family gets nothing, in fact, they lose everything. For some, the choice very much is easy, just not the way you're thinking.
27
_wawrzon_Mar 30, 2026

Sadly most of society is numb to white collar crimes. We can cry and outrage, because one young person was abducted and killed, but we don't give a flying f*** about corporations stealing money (wage theft, poor working conditions) which leads to higher stress, substance abuse, family violence, mental issues or even death for thousands of people every years.
It's slowly changing, because of last year, but as long as we can't directly see it, we get easily duped into believing it doesn't exist or is a fringe situation.

Honestly part of me is legitimately worried that the f****** around part could get even worse really fast. They keep not-so-subtly bringing up the literal nuclear option and the more the war goes badly, I really worry that the more he feels backed into a corner the more likely he is to drop one in a desperate bid to save face and look tough. Which of course would have the polar opposite effect and potentially unleash hell.
It's honestly not something I've been worried about in my lifetime and not even during his last shitshow of a presidency, but yeah. I'm legitimately worried about it now.

If he wanted a deal he probably shouldn’t have killed the leader. It’s hard to negotiate with the dead. Pretty hard to negotiate when you killed the new leader’s dad just a few days ago.
Just let the human element sink in. If someone killed your dad last month and wanted to negotiate with you this month, what would you tell them? In that moment, how much would you care about the global economy or the international rules based order?

The current White House occupant sent a $1 billion payoff to France to not build a wind farm.
“The Trump administration, which has taken every step possible to block offshore wind development, is so opposed to this possibility that it’s paying Total to give up those leases — which the company wasn’t even using — in exchange for a promise that Total will invest the money in oil and gas projects off the U.S. Gulf Coast — which it was already doing.”

We found a very large lithium deposit in Thacker pass in Nevada. There is also all kinds of rare earth minerals on the floor of the ocean in spheres. A lot of friendly nations have rare earths to trade also.
The other benefit is if the “Congo” or whatever decides they want to be dumb and cut supply who cares? It’s not like oil and we are burning the lithium we find…..batteries do not need to be replaced that often usually about once a decade and guess what the lithium can be recycled! We can just look for other ways to get what rare earths we need and be just fine….

Trump needs a distraction from the Trumpstein files, and Netanyahu needs constant war to stay out of jail and in power.
So unjust, unpopular, unnecessary war it is.
The lesson that humanity should learn from this is that bourgeois "democracy" is a scam, which lets the ruling class wage endless wars that the public pays for (in blood, lives, and taxes) but has no actual say in.
It should never be up to just one person to send a country into a war, even if they lie and call it a "special military operation" or whatever.
Bourgeois "democracy" is fake democracy, and a scam.
The ruling class will always lead countries into pointless wars that they profit from and decide on, but don't pay for.
Humanity urgently needs to learn this lesson, ideally before World War III kicks off.
