Yeah I don't think a lot of people realize that in America we haven't really seen the tip of the iceberg of the fallout. I think people feel like we should stop now before it gets worse, when really it's going to get worse for months and what is at stake is *how much* worse.

Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +83
As a US citizen living in Thailand, they are already feeling it. It's going to get much worse and I'm not coming home to prop up a fascist regime...
83
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +25
Well maybe your all thats gonna be left to rescue the US so should go about setting up *The* Government In Exile. I give you my full support ..
25
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +9
When it gets that bad I'll be home man.
9
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +7
Yep, i\`d do the same buddy, for now though enjoy your time in Thailand, they may be the best years of your life ..
7
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +8
I left for a reason at great personal cost. Thanks brother.
8
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +6
No thanks require buddy i\`m human too, :)

GettingDumberWithAge Mar 27, 2026 +21
> I think people feel like we should stop now before it gets worse I wish Americans felt this way before the last election. Instead we're all paying the price for their abject stupidity.
21
itsatumbleweed Mar 27, 2026 +13
Yeah. I'm an American that canvassed hard for Kamala in the Atlanta suburbs, but I don't blame the whole world for thinking we are all idiots. Because on average they are right.
13
incunabula001 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Comfort and complacency does that to ya.
2
Venvut Mar 27, 2026 -15
Because the US has a shit ton of gas.
-15
UrbanSolace13 Mar 27, 2026 +10
It's basically a supply lag/ market lag.
10
MadRaymer Mar 27, 2026 +12
Which won't matter, since the economy is *global*. We won't be able to just sit on a mountain of gas and gloat while the rest of the world suffers. Modern global trade is far too interconnected. Electronics prices are going up. Fertilizer prices are going up, which is going to raise food prices (which were already high). The US will be unable to economically isolate itself from the coming fallout.

United Airlines ~~latest SEC filings stated~~ in an internal memo said they expect oil to reach at least $175 and to remain over $100 for two years.
168
welmoe Mar 27, 2026 +81
Hello $10/gal gasoline
81
Solkre Mar 27, 2026 +66
Ramp up those I did that stickers. And two years is still dipshitdon timeline, so lets see him fix it.
66
FillFrontFloor Mar 27, 2026 +22
And overprice rent, and overprice housing, and overprice groceries, and overprice heating gas, and overpriced daycare, and underfunded benefits.
22
Local-Friendship8166 Mar 27, 2026 +14
Hey at least billionaires will get more billions.
14
redyellowblue5031 Mar 28, 2026 +4
Yes, but we don’t have to listen to Harris’ laugh. That was *close*.
4
sparkyHtown Mar 27, 2026 +10
He said he doesn't expect oil to reach $175 and remain over $100 for two years. He said he doesn't expect that but planning for it just in case
10
dubious_dinosaur Mar 27, 2026 +13
It was an internal memo, not an SEC filing
13
gerbal100 Mar 27, 2026 +3
My mistake!
3
grantwwu Mar 27, 2026 +15
It was not an internal memo. It was literally a press release https://www.united.com/en/us/newsroom/announcements/cision-125448

Crying_Reaper Mar 27, 2026 +1
Man I'm so glad I didn't get that 4Runner I was wanting so much. My Crosstrek isn't great on gas but it's for less bad than that.
1
doneandtired2014 Mar 27, 2026 +82
"I'm willing to pay more at the pump!" - f****** morons in lifted parking lot princesses that did nothing but incessantly b**** about the cost of fuel going up during the Biden admin
82
joepierson123 Mar 27, 2026 +38
It was never about the gas prices
38
doneandtired2014 Mar 27, 2026 +25
Oh, I know. Their positions shift to whatever will justify the actions of their child rapist of a God King at that exact moment.
25
joepierson123 Mar 27, 2026 +8
To them he's a thug who's entertaining that's all they want out of him
8
Fuddle Mar 27, 2026 +4
Fertilizer prices have gone crazy in the last weeks due to the war, that means all the food you grow is in danger. Imported food is also now more expensive due to the oil prices due to the war.
4
pepperoni7 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Honestly this might sound sad our health improved cuz we had to cut down food. I feel for other families though
1
Bupod Mar 28, 2026 +2
Love to see it. Cant wait until they try to sell their pavement princess mobile castles for next to nothing because they’re worthless.
2
Ritz527 Mar 27, 2026 +26
Oil extraction infrastructure takes months, if not years, to repair. Even if the war ended today, prices would remain impacted even if not to the same severe extent they are right now.
26
TriXter69 Mar 27, 2026 +98
The fact that all of this was done, for Israel
98
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +23
Well they did have pictures .. I mean what would you do?
23
SuperCiuppa_dos Mar 27, 2026 +33
…not… r***… children…?
33
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +10
yea but Donald doesnt do hindsight.
10
GettingDumberWithAge Mar 27, 2026 +7
>Well they did have pictures .. I don't believe that Americans would turn on Trump even if incontrovertible proof of him raping children came out. Americans just aren't moral people.
7
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Well if they release the pictures thats like a fired round, they cant threaten to release the pictures a second time. The threat is only powerful as long as it remains only a threat.
2
Optimus_Prime_Day Mar 28, 2026 +4
Maybe Isreal needs to pay back all countries that are paying out of pocket right now.
4
StretchExtension Mar 27, 2026 +104
Sorry, Asia, America needs to appease its 51st state.
104
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +74
Asia is freaking out. I'm here right now. You can't believe how worried people are. Europe is taking a massive hit too. China is laughing and clapping their hands.
74
StretchExtension Mar 27, 2026 +37
I wonder if the Asians and Europeans hold the aggressors accountable this time...
37
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +29
I'm in Thailand which is 93 percent Buddhist. They aren't warlike. It's against their beliefs. That being said, the US is a pariah state and everyone is making trade agreements that don't include us (I'm a born and bred US citizen and I believe in our Constitution).
29
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +7
I remember seeing the pictures of a protesting Burning Buddhist Monk years ago .. Little did he know that one day you wouldnt be able to set yourself on fire because of a lack of gasoline.
7
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +4
That's a sad reality that isn't real. Gas isn't going away entirely. I remember too, many instances. Rage Against the Machine has a famous album cover...
4
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +7
The Burning Buddhist Monk was *very* real. It was almost like an eternal protest ..
7
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +3
One of many who have themselves for something bigger than them. Personally I am agnostic and will not throw my life away in protest. I'll fight or run.
3
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +5
Yep, that age old strategy .. "He who fights & runs away." "Lives to fight another day .." :)
5
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +2
OR, he who doesn't want to fight and is forced to is a force that is hard to stop.
2
RevoDS Mar 27, 2026 +3
Good on you for believing in Donald Trump’s toilet paper
3
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +3
You think I believe a damn thing he says and haven't for almost 30 years? 🤦‍♂️
3
redkinoko Mar 27, 2026 +1
Thailand is in open conflict with Cambodia lmao what
1
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 28, 2026 +1
Border conflict... Not war. Do you live over here?
1
redkinoko Mar 28, 2026 +1
Lmao that's just disingenuous. People are getting injured and dying regardless of what you want to call it and "Buddhists" continue to support it. The only other country in open conflict in South East Asia is Myanmar. Care to guess their dominant religion? Maybe don't wholesale people based on religion.
1
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 28, 2026 +1
I live here, I have friends from Myanmar here. There is no war going on and border conflicts are normal in SE Asia. The junta in Myanmar is horrible. I've heard stories that keep me up at night. I'm saying the people aren't warlike, governments are different beasts. The Thai people will never support an actual invasion of Cambodia.
1
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +6
The only people with the power to hold the US to account are the people of the US.
6
StretchExtension Mar 27, 2026 +6
Are you being sarcastic? Who got held accountable for Iraq and Afghanistan?
6
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +2
Well i look upon Trump as the US\`s punishment for Iraq Libya & Afghanistan .. Theres still a long way to go.
2
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +2
We are too separated and under a police state. Until people are willing to face bullets, the bulls will be on parade.
2
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +3
I wise Irishman once told me "When facing bullets the prior buying of bulletproof jackets was a wise decision."
3
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +2
I'm a US citizen that exercises their rights. If I come home, I hope I don't need to. But I can.
2
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026
Well those immortal words by an American to other Americans may forever haunt Americans .. "Your either with us.. or your agin us." ................................................................................ I thought agin us was a dark Irish drink ..
0
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +2
I wish it were so.
2
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +6
I\`m in China at the min & i can assure you thats true! Yes we can do two things at once .. More on a good day.
6
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +3
I don't doubt it.
3
Specialist-Affect-19 Mar 27, 2026 +3
What are people saying? What's the biggest worry right now?
3
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +5
Gas and fertilizer. Here in Chiang Mai there are major diesel shortages and gas is more expensive, the Thai people cannot handle the economic consequences. Though they did negotiate a tanker through the strait, that will take time and no guarantees of future shipments.
5
WorldlyNotice Mar 27, 2026 +3
What's the strategy they're applying with diesel? Here in NZ the govt has been downplaying it and yesterday released a plan that involves a marketing campaign followed by tiered restrictions at some point later.
3
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 28, 2026 +2
Begging people not to do anything that isn't essential, hiking prices and reducing supply seems to be their reaction. This is really going to hurt average Thai people and if it gets worse it's going to suck. Luckily they have already gotten a tanker through.
2
thefoodiedentist Mar 27, 2026 +5
I suspect china is helping iran through russia. This is best case scenario for them taking taiwan eventually.
5
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +4
Well you are assuming that China want Taiwan & think its \`a big deal man.\` Its besides the point that once China invades Taiwan they wont be able to threaten to invade Taiwan anymore .. No, things are strategically better were they are.
4
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +3
They also can't do shit in Taiwan without helium and the US is the largest producer but doesn't meet our needs without Qatar. This is a very complicated game.
3
Equivalent_Range6291 Mar 27, 2026 +3
Yea, no more x-rays ..
3
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +2
Or CT scans and much more, like chip production.

The most important state in the United States for Israel
3
Fun-Shake7094 Mar 27, 2026 +1
Is that Canada or Venezuela?

GettingDumberWithAge Mar 27, 2026 -6
>America needs to appease its 51st state. Oh f*** off, Israelis didn't elect Trump, Americans did.
-6
StretchExtension Mar 27, 2026 +7
Name checks out. You f*** off lmao. This is an Israeli war for Israeli interests. No amount of political or geopolitical jargon will convince me or anyone else otherwise. Dual allegiance, AIPAC-funded war hawks drew us into this conflict, and the decapitation strikes would have happened with or without the United States. By extention this would have turned into a US-Israeli war regardless. Israel didn't elect Trump, but they've been tampering in our elections for decades, and 90% of them support the war. They might as well be our 51st f****** state.
7
Additional_Quiet2600 Mar 27, 2026 +53
Look. This is how it's going to be there is no slowing it down. Protect your financials because this won't go away. France estimates that 30 to 40 percent of production is gone and the more we hit Iran the more they say they hit desalinization plants. If they do that, then we are talking millions dead, and divestment from American bonds and the market to prop up their economies. We fucked up. The world will pay. It already is. There is no easy fix, but getting rid of the psycho is number 1 priority for US citizens and the rest of the world.

America: We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas! And before someone chimes in about the No Kings protests happening this weekend, I'm well aware. Sorry, having a protest once a year (regardless of how many million people attend) is going to look like Americans are having a hissyfit to Trump and things will be back to normal on Monday. You guys needs to be having protests daily if not weekly at the least. A general strike needs to happen because if it doesn't, the alternative is the essentially the only way you're going to oust him - otherwise, keep taking everything on the nose I guess.
12
GUlysses Mar 27, 2026 +12
Just listened to an interview from a No Kings organizer. Trust me, the organizers understand this as well as anyone. They know that these protests in an of themselves are solving all the problems. The idea is showing that the numbers are there to cause a true pushback if things are to really go over the edge domestically. Protests do matter, and always be skeptical of anyone saying they do not.
12
popodelfuego Mar 28, 2026 +9
People haven't begun to understand how fucked everything will be for a while as a result of this idiocy.

Good year to camp out in the back yard for vacation I guess.

Good thing we have a collection of our best minds and experts to figure this out. Oh wait.

How are the Nuclear Missile Silo\`s meant to operate now that their generators are all down? .. The one at Fort Lauderdale today couldnt even get their doors open. Trumps patting himself on the back because his golf cart is electric ..
11
badpersian Mar 27, 2026 +4
So be it. We will suffer to appease our stupid pedo leaders. I mean f*** us commoners, right?
4
Jimbobsupertramp Mar 27, 2026 +16
Americans deserve everything that’s coming to them.
16
Saneless Mar 27, 2026 +19
I hope everyone who voted for trump loses their homes and goes broke. I'm finally listening to the "f*** your feelings" crowd. I don't give a f*** anymore about those selfish pieces of garbage
19
xjester8 Mar 27, 2026 +9
it will be non Americans who suffer more, Americans can afford higher priced gas but it will be catastrophic for poorer countries especially in Asia who rely on gulf countries for their oil shipments
9
One-Emu-1103 Mar 27, 2026 +1
I didn't vote Trump.
1
meatychops Mar 27, 2026 +1
oil may go to $175 but the whitehouse says gas is always $1.99.
1
23370aviator Mar 28, 2026 -1
Well a significant percentage of the infrastructure that exported the oil from the Middle East is just gone now.. so yeah, it’ll be high for a while.
