I liked Sour and Guts more than I thought I would so looking forward to this

Its so good. I mainly listen to metal but her stuff is fire

rekipsj Apr 2, 2026 +73
I am way too old to be the demo for this music, but it has an absolute rock undertone to it.
73
coffeebribesaccepted Apr 2, 2026 +45
Music has no demo

TangieChords Apr 2, 2026 +36
Tell that to all the women who run away when I show them my Wiggles vinyl collection.

heyyymartin Apr 2, 2026 +2
99% of music has no demo. I would be a little concerned with an adult with no children listening to Kidz Bop

Gorgon?

I’m a late 30’s male, doubt her music is for me, but man I like her stuff

Same. She also seems like a really nice person.

I'm an old metal head and I have to listen to 'bad idea right?' at least once every 2days.
4
guidevocal82 Apr 3, 2026 +2
It's not aimed at people my age, but I really do appreciate her music.
2
ArrozConHector Apr 2, 2026 +9
Sour was absolutely perfect. Wasn't too big a fan of Guts. Excited for this new release.
9
welivedintheocean Apr 2, 2026 +4
I think I like Guts more than Sour, but I can see why people might not be into it. I loved the callback to scuzzy 90s jams, but they did conflict with the more modern ballads, so there was a lack of consistency. She's strong in both realms and I hope the new album manages to get a nice cohesive sound while exploring her limits.

I’m way too old and way too male to be a fan of Olivia but I don’t care and I’m looking forward to this!
396
yandere_lily Apr 2, 2026 +264
Music like this isn't really age or gender locked tbh, if it hits it hits 🤷‍♀️

frail_bejeweled Apr 2, 2026 +71
A good song is a good song
71
yandere_lily Apr 2, 2026 +24
Honestly.
24
Despada_ Apr 2, 2026 +51
Dejá Vu is basically "I'm young and experiencing heartbreak [for the first time] while you've moved on." And boy do I relate to that a while lot, and I was 30ish when I first heard the song. The emotional flashbacks were nice. It helps that the song is good in general too.
51
Rustash Apr 2, 2026 +13
It’s funny, this is the same reason that put me off of her first album. I just straight up can’t relate to teenage heartbreak anymore because it just sounds too naive to me. It’s all very well-made, I just bounced off of it. However, I gave Guts a spin and absolutely loved it, so I’m real interested in how she follows it up
13
One-Bag-8312 Apr 2, 2026 +6
I love the drums in Deja vu
6
TwelveGaugeSage Apr 2, 2026 +7
Yep, Rick Astley even has a great cover of Driver's License...
7
Sneakylesbian Apr 2, 2026 +6
To quote Dollar Signs, "When life was easy the music was harsh Now I wanna escape cuz life is hard All I ever listen to when I get inside my car All I want is shallow pop songs"
6
Protect-Lil-Flip Apr 2, 2026 +25
She makes all her music with a 40 something year old former emo dude so it makes sense us old guys like it
25
ikickedagirl Apr 2, 2026 +1
Good point.
1
GreatestSoloEver Apr 2, 2026 +46
As a 10,000-year-old male vampire I personally feel pretty excited for this album. I want to clarify that I am a 10,000-year-old male vampire. For further clarification I am a 10,000-year-old male vampire and I’m excited for this.
46
pinkwonderwall Apr 2, 2026 +14
You’re the one she wrote that damn vampire song about.
14
Molu1 Apr 2, 2026 +3
Ah, so that’s why they didn’t have to specify they weren’t the target demographic 50 times
3
Ok-Call-4805 Apr 2, 2026 +12
A good friend of mine is in his mid sixties and loves Olivia, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. There's no age limit for good music.
12
ikickedagirl Apr 2, 2026 +7
Eilish is another one like Rodrigo where I believe their best work is yet to come.
7
Ok-Call-4805 Apr 2, 2026 +2
That's why I love following the careers of young artists. You get to see them grow in real time.
2
frail_bejeweled Apr 2, 2026 +28
My daughter was playing her stuff a few years ago.... I (an old man🙂) stopped and asked who it was singing.... I have listened to her in various playlists ever since.... Good sound, good voice, and clever songs... Can't go wrong there!
28
calartnick Apr 2, 2026 +10
Why shouldn’t you be a fan? She’s great
10
thetalkingcure Apr 2, 2026 +27
music is for everyone, no need to put your gender into it
27
ikickedagirl Apr 2, 2026 -3
It’s not arbitrary. It’s always a positive thing when music crosses lines of race, creed, country, gender, etc. This is why someone like Taylor Swift will never be as big as Michael Jackson, who absolutely crossed all those lines mentioned previously particularly in the 80’s. It’s almost hard to describe to a younger person just how big he was. Swift is only huge to white females.
-3
RollOnDough91 Apr 2, 2026 +18
Same haha
18
dumbbinch99 Apr 2, 2026 +15
It’s frustrating that men think it’s unusual to listen to female pop artists when women don’t act the same way with male artists of any kind
15
ikickedagirl Apr 2, 2026 +2
You’re not wrong. I’d say over 50% of what I listen to has female vocals. So it’s not odd to me.
2
yamahowzer Apr 2, 2026 +15
Dude. I'm a 43 year old white guy in a thrash metal band and GUTS is a straight banger, no notes.
15
nickl104 Apr 2, 2026 +8
I’m a forty year old man and I have her last two albums on vinyl. She’s great, and gives me an honest nostalgia for being in my early 20s
8
thejeffphone Apr 2, 2026 +5
my dad is a 60 year old attorney and he looooves Olivia hahaha
5
Kevbot1000 Apr 2, 2026 +5
Im a 34 year old dude with no kids, but my fiance and I love her music. It's pure early 2000s throwback.
5
ikickedagirl Apr 2, 2026 +2
It did remind me of Paramore and Blink 182’s self titled.
2
idiotzrul Apr 2, 2026 +4
Same. Miles ahead of her contemporaries.
4
RayTracerX Apr 2, 2026 +3
Im a 30 year old metalhead and I love her, think she has a lot of attitude
3
APartyInMyPants Apr 2, 2026 +4
I’m a dad. Honestly would like to see her in concert. Her music is great.
4
the_moosen Apr 2, 2026 +1
I recommend it. Saw the GUTS tour, it's a really good show
1
kindalikeacoustic Apr 2, 2026 +4
I listen to just about everything BUT pop music, mostly metal. Her first album caught me way off guard by how much I liked it. I think the songs reminded me of places and people, some bittersweet.
4
raysofdavies Apr 2, 2026 +8
You can just enjoy it and not make a point of your identity
8
ArchDrude Apr 2, 2026 +2
I’m in my fifties (male) and a huge fan. She’s a legit songwriter/singer/performer and I think her career is going to be legendary.
2
ajmart23 Apr 2, 2026 +2
Same man. But hearing her first album weirdly transported me back to Jr High and all my favorite emo punk songs with angst about crushes and love, but from a female perspective. She’s awesome! 😎
2
thatguyad Apr 2, 2026 +2
I don't even care for pop music but I recognise her talent and allure.
2
RadWalk Apr 2, 2026 +2
She’s an incredibly talented song writer and she expresses some heavy emotions in ways that typical pop junk does not. I’m in the same category as you but I’ll still jam to drivers license.
2
estoyhartodeusers Apr 2, 2026 +4
Same. Looks like there is a bunch of middle age men that find her music interesting catchy something. What is it?
4
StereoZombie Apr 2, 2026 +16
It's good, and it's a bit punky
16
JGard18 Apr 2, 2026 +8
She has a really good throwback sound, for one. There’s also lots of little odes to songs of our (I’m 46) times in all of her songs. I’ll be listening to one and it’s like “oh that’s a call back to beastie boys” then “oh that sounds like a little part of an REM song”, etc.
8
Rustash Apr 2, 2026 +8
She basically made a 90s alt-rock album in the 2020s. Of course I’m gonna dig it
8
JGard18 Apr 2, 2026 +4
A local radio DJ feels she has an obvious influence by Alkaline Trio, for whatever that’s worth. But yes, I agree with you
4
Embarrassed_Bus4821 Apr 2, 2026 +1
That’s why I don’t like it. Just sounds like an amalgamation of better songs
1
KBobBears Apr 2, 2026 +3
Her taste in music overlaps with a lot of ours and you can hear it in what she makes. That album cover made me think of Blind Melon or STP. She jams out with David Byrne, Weezer, Robert Smith. Basically we're all doting on her like that uncle who buys obscure vinyls for his niece.
3
living2late Apr 2, 2026 +1
I'm a middle aged man (42) who dislikes that type of music but she did catch my ear when my wife was listening to her because one of her songs sounded like Pepper by the Butthole Surfers.
1
Thor_2099 Apr 3, 2026 +1
F*** that, music is for everyone. I'm a 38 year old dude and been jamming the hell out of that chappelle roan Midwest princess album. And I've jammed out to Olivia too. Hopefully this album has bangers!
1
WrongfulSuspicion Apr 2, 2026 +1
I’ve said this before, but I believe that she is the single biggest driving force in rock music today, and all the old heads that matter are backing her. Mostly because it seems that she pays homage to the past, everywhere that she goes.
1
gagreel Apr 2, 2026
You can just listen to Paramore in the meantime
0
random314 Apr 3, 2026
Why is she so angry tho!
0
ikickedagirl Apr 3, 2026 +2
It’s probably because of how everything is.
2
yandere_lily Apr 2, 2026 +64
She really doesn't miss.... the title alone already sounds like it's gonna hurt 😭

jampapi Apr 2, 2026 +20
If a b**** came for half my bag, I’d go scorched earth on her too

Can’t wait! Some days at the gym I wonder if anyone knows that this grumpy looking dad is blasting Olivia Rodrigo and Kpop Demon Hunters in his headphones.
86
esarge112 Apr 2, 2026 +7
I do enjoy a lot of music in this genre, but for working out I listen to metal covers because it gets me hyped. Theres some good covers out there, our last night has covers for at least drivers license and vampire if you want the beat to pick up any.
7
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026 +145
26 straight dude I’m hyped idgaf Edit: apologies for upsetting everyone for acknowledging my minority status. I thought that by recognizing that the real world is not as “accepting” as Listnook and announcing my proud presence as a minority demographic, it would encourage others like me to be proud fans. I realize now that Listnook is the wrong place for such things. (I’m being a bit facetious if you could not tell)

moocofficial Apr 2, 2026 +7
Probably some kind of side effect of the performative male epidemic?
7
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026 -3
Correct I love performing. But in reality I just assume I’m not exactly the common demographic, so it’s like calling out to anyone else similar.
-3

You can just be a fan its ok
47
ExSportsCalendar Apr 2, 2026 -4
Ugh all the straight men who think they’re so f****** special cause they like girly pop.
-4
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026
Why are you so bothered? Lol never said I was remotely special, just pretty sure im a minority in this genre. It’s not that deep.
0
ExSportsCalendar Apr 2, 2026 -17
So what, you want a medal or something? Ouh I listen to something I don’t look like I’d listen to! Big f****** whoop.
-17
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026 +8
lol again why are you so bothered? Are you in therapy?
8
ExSportsCalendar Apr 2, 2026 -6
Are you bothered that most of the comments are calling out your exact behaviour? Liking pop music as a straight man is not the flex that you and a bunch of others in this comment section seem to think it is. Women are constantly being told that what we like is inferior and when we dare to like something more “masculine”, let’s take another music genre for example, like metal, we’re told we’re not real fans. So you’ll excuse me if I am bothered when we see this type of behaviour from men, like they wanna be f****** rewarded for liking something more feminine.
-6
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026 +4
Buddy you are projecting so much shit that has nothing to do with me or my comment lol. I’m not bothered by anything here, just amused if anything. You decided to apply your trauma to my comment and rage out at me lol. But that’s Listnook for you, it’s expected.
4
ExSportsCalendar Apr 2, 2026 +7
Yup, that’s Listnook, dismissing women’s experiences. Look it’s fine, you like things, I like things, it’s all cool. I’m just tired.
7
Nem3sis2k17 Apr 2, 2026 +4
I’m tired too lol. Tired of simple comments somehow turning into “dismissing women’s experiences”. If you feel dismissed, it’s because I don’t want to discuss it considering my comment has nothing to do with it. Sometimes we all need a break from the internet. Maybe a big break.

I’m just a big hunk who likes pop music.
17
Molu1 Apr 2, 2026 +15
Pathetic how our society makes it seem like it’s so weird for men to consume art made by women that 90% of the comments on here feels the need to make a point about how CRaaZY is it that they a heterosexual man who is so heterosexual that they have even used their p**** to father a child with a women because they are a very heterosexual man and therefore would NEVER normally listen to a woman singing but they do listen to Olivia Rodrigo. Like, guys, it’s fine. Also if someone does read your comment and assumes for 5 seconds that you’re a 20 year old woman, you will also survive that. Time to examine how fragile your masculinity is and why.
15
Hollywoode Apr 2, 2026 +4
I feel sorry for them, so glad I’m a woman and I don’t have to live in the prison that is societal expectations of a man Also the album cover is 1000/10 I am so excited for this
4
englishinseconds Apr 3, 2026 +2
Bots see top comments on post on the front page and automatically post something similar but slightly different.  on the “today I learned” subs, a top comment adds more info to what the OP posted, and suddenly all the comments are flooded with that same context.
2
WhoFearsDeath Apr 2, 2026 +21
Shots fired?
21
dawgyjay Apr 2, 2026 +7
My first thought when reading the album title is that maybe she's taking shots at Taylor Swift? Not sure if that's what you mean but what I first thought of.
7
No_Pianist5264 Apr 2, 2026 +13
It’s not Olivia’s the sad girl she’s singing about lmao she was in love and happy and now they’ve broken up It’s literally in the interview she did with British vogue and in her news letter
13
WhoFearsDeath Apr 2, 2026 +1
Ahh, I'm not that clued in, but I appreciate the context!
1
No_Pianist5264 Apr 2, 2026 +7
Wdym why would she write a whole ass album for Taylor 💀 this is a reflection of Olivia’s own life
7
WhoFearsDeath Apr 2, 2026 +3
I mean I did say in my other comment that my first thought was it being about Olivia but I mostly listen to hip hop and grudges are definitely worth entire albums. Or whole entire concerts on Juneteenth if you are a petty king like Kendrick.
3
No_Pianist5264 Apr 2, 2026 +2
lol yeah Olivia isn’t petty but even if she was she still wouldn’t write a whole ass album about Taylor she has her own life going on people who think this is about Taylor are crazy
2
WhoFearsDeath Apr 2, 2026 +3
Some people don't actually know all that much about every artist and their individual personalities. I actually miss knowing even less than I do about every celebrity.
3
cantclimbatree Apr 2, 2026 +5
As someone who knows nothing, I thought this was gonna be Not Like Us for white ppl lol
5
throw019283 Apr 2, 2026 +13
If the showgirl fits 💁‍♀️
13
WhoFearsDeath Apr 2, 2026 +6
My first thought was it's a self reflection, next thought was Taylor. Seems likely to be one of the two, but I will give it a listen and see!
6

Feels like this one's gonna be everywhere when it drops.
7
Skatefasteat Apr 2, 2026 +4
Does she write her own music? Sure hope she does!
4
Only-Chicken-6345 Apr 2, 2026 +20
Co-writes with Dan Nigro, once or twice per album someone else too. I don't know the full process but if it's only one co-writer and it's a consistent one I think it's safe to say she writes her own songs and has a significant enough contribution. I excluded the credits on SOUR that were for interpolation, so if you count that there's six songs with extra songwriters, but there's really just three so far
20
Skatefasteat Apr 2, 2026 +2
Ah alright, nice! I like when artists are legit :)
2
Thelightningthief13 Apr 3, 2026 +2
She definitely writes all the lyrics, not sure about the melodies and chord progressions and all the other stuff though

Crazy_sports_dude Apr 3, 2026 +2
Seems like a promising title for her to continue her arc as the savior of pop punk
2

I live in LA and she had a skywriter do the title of this album in the sky today. Could see it perfectly at my house, got me hyped!

Looks like Halsey-type imagery Edit: Dafuq did I say, do you guys hate Halsey or smthn

Just echoing what people are saying here. I’m a man in my early 40s, but she’s making music that appeals to my generation, early 2000s alt rock stuff with a nice mix of pop. When you see that she’s a massive fan of Weezer, The Cure, David Byrne, etc, it’s not exactly a mystery as to why. Looking forward to this.

Bought GUTS on vinyl on a whim after liking a couple of her songs and loved it! SOUR is not as strong, imo, but still has some great songs. Love the title and cover of this new album and looking forward to checking it out 💜 I feel no need to specify my age or gender

I usually listen to black and death metal, but I won’t lie she has some really damn good songs. Looking forward to this!

I’m a blushed 5-year-old bottle of rosé and I can’t get enough Olivia Rodrigo.

Probably gonna be gas. Just from the album cover I’m predicting some more Polachek vibes on this one. Could be WAY off but I’m gonna look like the smartest guy ever this summer if that’s the case hahaha 😂

Almost embarrassed about how stoked I was to receive this email, except I’m not at all because she’s legitimately one of the best songwriters of the decade and probably all time 🤘

I kinda wish she kept the 4 letter word names like the previous 2 albums but it’s obviously natural evolution as an artist

I feel like SOUR and GUTS are sister albums. After all, they do sound rather similar.

It would be amazing there’s a sequel album from the other person’s point of view titled “Mind Your Own Business!”

June 12th😭 Why do artists not do surprise drops anymore?? Gnx was the only one in recent memory.

I think only super big artists like beyonce or Taylor swift can do a suprise drop, otherwise labels want their money

I like a full roll out like in the good old days. With all the shit going on in the world at least i know there’s something good to look forward to in the future

If it was more good 4 u and less everything else I'd be all over it, but I doubt that's the case.

Considering Paramore’s catalog is quite extensive, I don’t see why it wouldn’t be the case.

Has she cultivated the next Taylor Swift like cult? I doubt a non white girl will be capable of doing so.

I like the album cover but my OCD is kind of driving me insane with her breaking the one word rule with this title

I read it more as "You seem pretty. Sad for a girl in love."

Seeing as I like her when she leans into power pop/pop punk vibes and do not like her when she does anything else, I assume I won't be checking it out since she said its mostly slow sad love songs?
