They really started a war just to make a couple Billion on insider trading. Unconscionable

The resulting raise of gas prices will cost the world economies billions, the various hardware the United States has used will cost the United States billions, the lack of prestige of the United States military is incalculable because now most nations know that they'll lose the first battle, but as long as don't surrender they'll eventually win the war, but a few billionaires who already had billions got a few billions more.

Winding down means sending in the upwards range of 17,000 troops to Iran?

If that is not a Trump ploy!

It’s the same script every time: promise a "quick surgical strike" and end up with a month-long regional firestorm that $120 oil is currently fueling. "Objectives achieved" is just political-speak for "we broke it and now we own the chaos." While DC debates "strategic wins," the rest of the world is literally paying the price at the pump and watching the global supply chain dissolve. A month in, and the only thing that's "surgical" is how fast the middle class's savings are being cut

For f***'s sake, this is just more sanewashing. Trump doesn't have any objectives beyond hiding the fact that he is a rapist and murderer.

He cannot 'wind down' the dumbest own-goal military attack in modern history. Israel is running amok and the Houthis have joined with Iran. Any attempt to invade will result in Iran destroying what is left of the Gulf oil infrastructure. Trump ignored all advice and pressed on regardless with Hegseth in tow. Global economic recession and inflammation of the ME cannot be 'wound down'.

"some Trump objectives are unfulfilled" Go into a war without ANY idea of objectives and without ANY sort of plan - US media report it as "some objectives unfulfilled".

As the WH official said, Trump is bored and ready to move on. That's all it is.

As a non-american, it infuriates me whenever americans talk about how they can do what they want, because nobody can defeat their military. Because: What does that have to do with anything? The Taliban can't possibly defeat the US military. The US went into Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban and find Bin Laden. Bin Laden was in Pakistan. And Afghanistan is now ruled by ... (checks notes) ... the Taliban. Doesn't that make the statement "The Taliban can't possibly defeat the US military" just sound stupid? It's as if winning a war is measured by who kills the most people. Didn't we leave that thinking behind in the 20th century?
