One-Watch Movies

Posted by CMM9991

What are some of your movies you can only watch once? The obvious answers are like Schindler's List and Requiem for a Dream. But for me, movies like Sinners and Project Hail Mary were 1 time watches for me. I thought both films were superb, and I am glad I viewed them, but I can't see myself buying the 4k, let alone, watching it again.

It’s actually just as good on rewatch - for different reasons, obviously.

Enter the Void. The question isn't really will you ever rewatch it, but will you ever be able to finish it?

That's very true. I like that.

Hamnet was really good, but I don’t know if I need to go through that again.

The lead actress was really good, and the ending where she goes to the Globe Theatre was great, but everything else in that film was borderline dross.

Obvious ones are requiem for a dream & grave of the fireflies but i think dancer in the dark is one that is sometimes overlooked, which should always be included in this conversation as well.

Speak No Evil (2022) is one of those movies that, in my opinion, should be watched only once. That sense of grotesque tension and growing unease it manages to convey works mainly on the first viewing. Absolutely exceptional movie.

I never want to see *Manchester On the Sea* again. Felt like someone took a cheese grater to my psyche.

Angst (1983) The most brutal realistic feeling murder I've seen on film. A movies gore has never EVER made me feel physically sick like this movie did.

Crime 101. I enjoyed it but there isn’t really a reason to watch it again.

for me, Grave of the Fireflies and Requiem for a Dream are also one watch movies, brilliant films, but too emotionally heavy to revisit

Aniara. I'm a rare disease hospice nurse and even that's too f****** bleak to watch again.

The only way to rewatch a movie is to buy a 4k?
