I guess Pakistan loves the attention they're getting from this, but let's be honest, best case scenario for these talks is they manage to not start shooting at each other again next week. I don't really even see the strait "re-opening" in the limited way Iran described any time soon.

I think it will be much sooner then next week. There are multiple points in Irans deal that I can’t ever see the US being ok with. An example would be having the US leave their bases in the region, never going to happen.

I think we'll pussyfoot around for a couple of weeks while we rearm. Then we get boots on the ground. Then we put our poor soldiers through a meat grinder.

I think, unless the world bows to Iran's stated control of Hermuz, we have no choice other than invade. Iran controlling the strait is a non-starter. How else would the world wrest control from them? Cheetolini screwed up big time....and the world will pay.

I think that’s what will happen too.

I don’t think it will take that much longer. Europe is already starting to make a lot of noise over the closure.

Eh.... that's, frankly, what eu does most of the time. I'll believe they are getting involved only when they actually do.

yeah i think trump quietly eats his shit sandwich and reframes it for his base that has no understanding of geopolitics and loves everything he does.

If it was that easy to clear path through the strait, world's best navy would have done so already. What would this coalition even consist of, European countries got pretty much damn row boats compared to US, I wouldn't count on Europe bringing anything on the table considering naval forces. Even US is scared to bring their ships to the strait because of how easy targets they become there.

it was possible to e***** ships through in the late 80's when ASM's were all you had to worry about, with 30+ ships for month upon months during the iran-iraq war. with todays tech and their only 2 lanes capable of shipping? that stays closed unless we seize all of south iran...and even then would still need the e****** because of shaheeds

I think it would be like having sexual frustration - just unfufilled desires.

The last toolbox I want to be a tool in is Trump's. Pakistan is making a huge mistake in some ways but I appreciate the work. He's going to end up owning them.

So Trump is now an ally to Iran?

Israel is now frothing at the mouth to attack once there is any progress.

I hope nobody dies in Pakistan during the meeting because it would be a disaster and the war could have a crazy escalation

Trump isn’t calling shots anymore. And let’s not talk about how stupid trump is. Also, even if Trump attacks Pakistan, there is nothing Pakistan would do because they are currently crippled.

Why would the US attack them though?

Oh good. Vance is willing to extend a helping hand to Iran. Surely that's what they want. At this point I'm hoping they extend a helping hand to us.
