From the ABC News article:
>The government has twice invoked an automatic stay of the bond order so that they can appeal the decision to release Kordia, which has extended her time in detention. She’s now been detained longer than any other pro-Palestinian demonstrator targeted by the Trump administration.
>”So this our third bond hearing. I have heard testimony, I have seen thousands of pages of evidence now being presented by the respondent, very little evidence presented by the government in any of this,” Judge Tara Naselow-Nahas said during Friday's hearing in Dallas, Texas. “I still believe that respondent poses next to no flight risk.”

>*“To see so many people during the hearing today made me feel loved and supported... All I want is for the government to finally release me now so I can go home to my family. Until then, I’ll continue speaking up for the basic rights and freedom of all people, from Texas to Palestine.”*
Her several detainments no doubt are directed at her independence, sense of justice, and intelligence.

The administration ignores basically *every* judge's order to release people from custody. Like no exaggeration, this has happened hundreds of times in the past year.
Judges in every state are pissed, including Trump's own appointed judges, but they can't really do anything about it.

At some point, a judge needs to deputize someone/many someones - either an entire already existing agency, like the Marshals, or a posse ala the wild west - to carry out their court orders and arrest/hold in contempt the people blocking them.
That point was probably a couple dozen disregarded orders ago, but the second best time to do it is today.
We all know damn well if I was keeping someone locked in my basement that I had kidnapped off the street for holding a sign saying I was a bad person, that the Court then ordered released, the sheriff department/state police/FBI would be there within minutes to bring that person out and keep me away at the business end of a gun. There shouldn't be an out for the current administration to just say nah and ignore it. They cannot be allowed to continue existing above the law.

>if you’re so convinced, tell me what they SHOULD do?
Y'all are already in a constitutional crisis. There is no harm in escalating it because Trump *will* escalate it no matter what anyway. And there is so much that could be done:
Provide an emergency fund for women needing abortions or trans people from other states - provide a lifeline to those in FL or other states where the GQP outright threatens them (e.g. the recent shit with [revoked driver's licenses](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/kansas-revoked-drivers-licenses-1700-transgender-residents-rcna262120) for trans people in Kansas). Hand everyone who can credibly claim to be hunted by Trump and his governor followers enough money to move to your state. That is something that can be done very fast, doesn't cost much money, and provides immediate and real help to real people.
Have the National Guard arrest ICE goons, either by default, or have them focus on those first that mask their faces or wear improper identification or cannot identify themselves with valid documentation. That would be a good starter and hell it would have been justified after what happened in MN.
Suspend all not legally required cooperation of local/state law enforcement with federal law enforcement. If Trump keeps bitching, suspend even what would be required under federal law and risk it going in front of the Supreme Court. Break the law and establish facts, if only for a few months, it's exactly the same strategy that Trump follows. Trump isn't afraid of ignoring the rules, it is high time Democrats wake the f*** up and fight back.
Trump only respects strength, if you yield you are not worthy in his eyes.
5

Governor Walz could not activate the national guard to arrest ICE as the president would then have federalized the guard shifting command to the Department of Defense. So no, not a good starter.
-3
Odd-Swimming-8304Mar 15, 2026
+3
He wouldn’t need to, murder is a state crime. The state AG could press charges and the state police could simply arrest the ICE agent. It’s literally that simple.
3
wowicantbelieveitsMar 15, 2026
+5
Yes exactly. It has nothing to do with the national guard.

mschuster91Mar 15, 2026

>Governor Walz could not activate the national guard to arrest ICE as the president would then have federalized the guard shifting command to the Department of Defense.
That is precisely my point: provoke the constitutional crisis *on your terms* before Trump does - say, right before election day? Under the guise of "preventing vote fraud"?
Governors need to be sure the loyalty of the National Guard lies *with them* because otherwise, they risk a very, very nasty surprise in November.
Trump does not care about laws, so why should the governors? Why should *anyone* play by the rules, when Trump and Hegseth have literally ordered war crimes (first the sinking of ships off the Venezuelan coast, now the "give no quarter" order regarding Iran)? You all are in such a deep mess already, the very least you need to know is how deep the rot is already going.
1
wowicantbelieveitsMar 15, 2026

Everything you just said makes it clear you don’t understand how the national guard works
-1
mschuster91Mar 15, 2026

Just because the law *says* that Trump can assume control, it doesn't mean that that will happen in reality - same as the law says Trump can't take bribes but has experienced zero resistance from anyone when Qatar gifted him an airplane, and same as the law says you can't just tear down historical monuments and the next day heavy machinery tore down the East Wing.
Laws only matter as long as someone enforces them. Trump has long since realized and exploited the fact that he could get away with a lot of shit, long before he ever entered politics.
And in the case of the National Guard, all it takes is balls of steel from the Governors, the National Guard leadership and the National Guard servicemen and -women. What is Trump to do, should a Governor and the NG leadership tell him to get bent? Send in the Army?
6

Look at that Mamdani trip to the white house. In a 30 min press conference he had Trump eating out of his hand. Calling him a great guy, telling him hell give him any help he needs, referring to himself as a fascist. Basically everything every Dem wishes they could have been doing for over a decade. He did in 30 min. What did they do? The next day half of them sign on to a resolution to denounce socialism. Something the Republicans put out because they we're mad that Donnie looked bad.
Lets go back to the NYC mayoral race. Who did you vote for Chuck? Why won't you tell us?? What happened to 'vote blue no matter who'??
Why was it when there was some pretty clear indications of annomalies on or right after election day. No one said a damn thing about it?....Oh we would have got made fun of because we said the 2020 election wasnt stolen and now we'd be saying this one was......well if there was evidence you freaking say something. You don't sit there and do nothing. If I come home and find my wife cheating I dont just sit in the corner watching and crying. Because she once said I was cheating when I wasn't. So she would say it was me turning the tables to now accuse her.
They could look at their complete disconnect with their base. Assuming we have free and fair elections we have 2 options. Continue the track we're on. Or delay the track we're on 2-6 years. Because the Dems have no desire to do the things the people actually want. They'll make half hearted attempts to put things back the way they we're. THE WAY THAT GOT US HERE TO BEGIN WITH. And then act all shocked when we slide right back to where we currently are.
We have a shot......if in 2028 someone runs on a new new deal platform and actually wants to implement it. They might have the house and senate. But theres no freaking way the DNC is going to put someone like that up. Its not going to happen. Find me a dem that will give us 1950s style millionaire taxes and banking regulations. universal healthcare. retool orgs like the SEC, EPA, CFPB so that they can actually do something after scotus defanged them. Pass a law to make Citizens United no longer an issue. Stop funding genocides.

you're acting like you're just some kind of stickler for the rules and courts while commenting under an article where the courts keep trying to release her from detention and the government keeps ignoring it and then trying to come up with more bullshit reasons to keep her locked up. if you're gonna be a rule of law guy then you can't pick and choose, the courts say free her because she poses no flight risk

So you think it’s ok to ignore the laws that have been in place far before this all happened, because why?
She’s not legally allowed to be in the country. She can go home and reapply if she wishes to come back, but not for years. Because she didn’t do her due diligence in the first place and get her visa renewed and she didn’t leave when she was supposed to. It really is that simple.

And no they need the Jews take control of the area to build the third temple to trigger the end times. At which point all the Jews will either convert or be killed.
