Ok i have complicated feelings about this AE whiffed it big with their sydney sweeney ad and fumbled the recovery But Aerie is honestly really good underpants that dont make you feel like shit about sizing, their bras are so comfortable. They did a body positivity run that changed their sizing a bit and I swore by their underwear for years. I wanna see more of *that* again and I think Pamela Anderson is kind of perfect in her pamelanaissance for it considering her aesthetic is so fresh faced

Aerie as in American eagle? Nah. They’re about genes.

TLDR: * Pamela Anderson partnered with Aerie for its 100% Aerie Real campaign, a promise to never use AI-generated bodies or people in its marketing * "Nothing can replace human beings," the actress and activist tells PEOPLE * Anderson also opened up about feeling like she's "still scratching my way" into the film industry

I cant believe we've come to the point of taking a stand against AI models like try telling this to a victorian child

So ironic seeing models complain about AI when they had real life body alterations and relied on Photoshop for decades to improve their appearance

She’s working for Aerie and they stopped photoshopping models years ago

For years she benefited from the opposite. I'm not against natural pictures and showing how humans actually look, but the irony of her past and many content creators today complaining about "fake" when they create fake realism themselves.

I don't see the irony. I see someone trying to help people keep their jobs.

They created fake and heavily manipulated images of beauty and success for decades. Now they're complaining about AI creating fake imagery. It's very ironic.

Ok, Alanis. People change. She stopped doing all of that and has publicly denounced setting impossible beauty standards. She was more used and abused than many in the industry.

Maybe go look up her comments about the Me Too movement. She very publicly showed she doesn't care about her fellow women and protecting them. She has a double standard and only cares when it impacts her.

I don't think what she said in 2017 was that terrible compared to what many others are defended for. She was real and lived the life. She even praises the movement. Women are held in such an impossibly high regard that we can't live up to.

"Hey women don't be dumb and you won't get SA'd" pretty much her words and she defended those words in 2023.

You can say sexually assaulted on Reddit. And, you know why she said what she said. She didn't condone any actions or behaviour. She was talking about how her mom taught her how to be in certain situations, and some young women didnt have that kind of role model. She never said it was their own fault. It was just the reality of what she had to navigate. If anything, you should be shitting on the perpetrators instead of the person having to deal with that environment.

Not defending her as much as I am defending Aerie. I have really appreciated them not using photoshop and it has made me feel comfortable bra shopping which I never used to feel comfortable doing

I'm happy they were able to provide the level of comfort for you! I think body positivity needs more companies like aerie, but that doesn't mean there isn't irony in Pam crying about AI or a better brand spokeswoman than Pamela Anderson.

You’re very right about this I do appreciate your perspective on her hypocrisy

That's actually true of luddism in general. The Luddites had benefited from previous advances in technology, but opposed the new changes since it enabled low skilled labor to take their place.

I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you don’t actually think models are out there photoshopping their own commercial shots

NotRapoport Mar 27, 2026 +2
Oh I understand now. It's ok when someone takes a picture of them, then alters (via software) it so they appear more photogenic and appealing.

That’s great and all but funny from someone that was the fake t*** plastic dream girl, but now pivots, like all older hollywoood stars do to natural no makeup. She should be arguing that no ads should be allowed to use photoshop. That’s a real problem.

She’s working with Aerie and years ago Aerie stopped photoshopping their models. So she is working with the right company for this message

I hear perfect is the enemy of good.

It’s almost like people change and grow with time.

For actors i get it. But if your job is to just stand there and be pretty i can't imagine why anyone should care (besides models). It's obviously not a career the world needs.

You don’t think women comparing themselves to undisclosed robot perfection computer created images of women will harm women? Also you probably don’t know much about modelling if that’s what you think it entails! Look up Coco Rocha behind the scenes videos or Naomi Campbell modelling. Just because you don’t understand the skills involved enough to “see” them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Maybe I’m old school, but I think what we put out into the world should reflect the people in it.

I can tell you’ve never modelled because it’s not as easy as it looks I tried modelling and I was awful at it, both walking down a runway and especially posing for a camera I know that’s not nearly as challenging as other jobs but there is as much of an art to being in front of the camera as there is to being behind the camera. Unfortunately the industry nepotism today makes people forget that

In fact it would be good to use AI for children models. Children don’t need to be in modeling or acting and I do hope AI can be used to protect kids from those industries as we all know they are rampant with sexual abuse and exploitation
