Putin is threatening a country Russia is supposed to be allied with. This once again proves that Russia is a treacherous regime that even its own allies cannot trust.

Well they also did nothing to help when Azerbaijan attacked despite pledging to defend them so it's not toooo surprising Russian alliances only go one way

Replace Putin with Trump and Russia with US and it would still be true.

Ukraine scenario, where putin's horde of thieves and rapists march in with ill-deserved confidence only to realize they're not invulnerable and get stuck in an economy-crushing war?

Just think, America used to be able to sneer at Russia for being so dumb….. until Iran.

So there is this nuclear super power that is threatening their allies, breaking treaties they themselves have written and starting wats with “weaker nations” that they somehow can’t seem to win. Kinda weird that such a very descriptive description doesn’t specify of we are talking about America or Russia.

Comrade orange destroyed this country far faster than even I thought he would. And I predicted literally everything he has done so far (except the ballroom) just on a delayed time frame. I thought it would take 3 years to screw up this badly.

I worry about ground troop escalation in Iran. I don’t think that would turn out like Ukraine has. Hopefully, we won’t find out

Trump has no way out of Iran if he doesn't do that. He either gets humiliated, or risks it all on a desperate gamble to avoid that and possibly gets humiliated even more...

Correct. It would be worse. Iran is a relatively huge country of mountainous terrain. And they have a standing army with a divided command structure. Our tactics against Iraq would not work. We’d be fighting hundreds of small guerrila conflicts in terrain we don’t know where our air superiority is basically nullified. Tens of thousands of American troops would have to die to take Iran by land.

Putin wanted to get the former Soviet states aligned under his 'near abroad' policy under the rubric of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Ukraine is gone; Georgia is gone. Kazakhstan issued a rebuke of Russia and Armenia is looking for exits. Further isolating Russia but now without the support of the breadth of the CIS/former Soviet states.

Georgia is not gone. The ruling Georgian Dream party is still firmly in Russia’s pockets.

No, they're not. They're trying to toe the line between Russia and the EU, because the last thing they want is to get invaded again.

The same is true of Kazakhastan, and indeed most of the CIS states. They're simply balancing between Russia - and in most cases China, not the west. There is no grand reorientation of the world towards the west. The west is losing too, and China's keeps rising...

I think Kazakhstan would love to be able to get their oil and gas to Europe via pipeline and bypass Russia in the process.

I'm dubious of the party's actual popularity and like a lot of governments, a popular uprising happens quickly and the party falls. I don't think Georgia will make long-term strides towards closer ties to Russia.

Many Georgians were on the street for a whole year now and they are facing more and more restrictive behaviour. I live here one year and can say Russia has a very strong hold.

Forget the threats. Russia didn't even lift a finger when Turkey and Azerbaijan were bullying Armenia. What is even the benefit of a military alliance with Russia if its going to do nothing

How many wars does he plan on losing?

Armenia skipping Russia-led events feels like another sign that the relationship is no longer automatic. Yerevan clearly does not see Moscow as the reliable default partner it once did.

Putin should shut his mouth

So another SMO that lasts years and shows Russian weakness?

Kaiel1412 May 11, 2026 +6
like what? like take 4+ years to lose

evildrtran May 11, 2026 +2
I heard Azerbaijan has been giving Russia the cold shoulder and having better relations with Turkiye.

Tacti_Kel_Nuke May 11, 2026 +1
They don't mean invading Armenia themselves ofc, but dont giving a f*** if Azerbaijan and Turkey do (like if it wasnt clear before)

DissKhorse May 12, 2026 +1
Wait they are threatening to lose to Armenia and make them a military super power?
