Irish Star is a horrible tabloid paper. They didn’t even include Paula Marshall’s purse in the article, just photos of Sweeney.

They did. It’s just further down in the article.

This is surprisingly common in celebrity news articles. I don't know how many articles I've seen about how a celebrity wow everyone in a fancy dress or scandalized people in a revealing dress only for there to.be no picture. I have to assume it's because they don't want to pay for the photo rights.

Yeah damn those Sweeney pics!

We all feel that

You know what this is? This is public relations for the show and engagement bait. No one actually gives a shit.

This is the second story about some "red carpet drama" related to this show that I've seen this morning.

Yes celebrity gossip is huge. I get that people are born every day but it feels like we cycle through this conversation 5 times a week
6
LuinAelin 4 days ago +2
They want the drama to get clicks.. Wouldn't suprise me they're all best friend behind the scenes

My favorite is the drama about Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney “avoiding” each other on the red carpet. Somehow two women doing *literally nothing* means they have a super intense feud.
1
gilestowler 1 day ago +1
Yeah this is the one I was referring to! I've since seen another "drama" mentioned but I can't even remember what that one was about.

I guess you might be a teenager or something, cause celeb gossip is a huge industry that has thrived since pre-internet
6
Pale_Cucumber_9692 4 days ago -6
yeah no shit. not talking about celeb gossip, talking about obsessing over trump and who supports him and who doesn’t.

Listnook has such a hate boner for Sweeney.

I've heard she is a republican but Ive not seen her actually support Trump. Did I miss something?
15
GunnieGraves 4 days ago +25
Says right in the article she voted for him in 2024. Edit: I get it guys. She hasn’t publicly stated she voted for him. But in a world where it’s increasingly easy to say “no I didn’t and I don’t support this”, silence speaks quite loudly. She’s a registered Republican and she sure doesn’t seem like she’s trying to dispel any notion that she’s aligned that way.
25
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +13
Yeah but she’s never confirmed that. What is confirmed is that she did register as a republican on ‘24 and voted in that election, she most likely voted for trump.
13
LuinAelin 4 days ago +10
Has she actually confirmed that or are people just assuming
10
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +13
People are assuming but she registered as a republican in ‘24 and voted in the election so she most likely voted for trump. She’s never confirmed or denied it.
13
StarsMine 4 days ago +7
Many states require that to vote in th primaries. Says nothing about how someone votes in the general elections
7
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +9
Yeah I know but she also registered after the primary.

Not in the primary.
3
LuinAelin 4 days ago +3
So unless she says "I voted for Trump" then it is just an assumption (Not saying she hasn't, just unless it's confirmed then it's just an assumption)
3
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +3
Exactly.

Cool_Twist4494 3 days ago -1
You can tell if someone's a trumper just by asking a couple questions and how they react, or don't.
-1
altfil76 3 days ago -1
She hasn't denied it either
-1
LuinAelin 3 days ago -2
So it's not confirmed, it's assumed to have voted for Trump until she says otherwise
-2
SirBobPeel 2 days ago +1
Maybe she just doesn't think it's anyone's business what her politics are. Assuming she even cares anything about politics.

MagnetoWasRight24 3 days ago
Tf is your point?
0
spazz720 3 days ago +2
Point is who cares…it’s an actress who has never publicly spoken out. This is literal clickbait. I’m sure she went home and cried herself to sleep on what Paula did.
2
MagnetoWasRight24 3 days ago -1
How does 80 million people being morons show that point? I asked you a direct question, don't be a coward.
-1
spazz720 3 days ago
Coward? 🤣 The article is about an actress with a purse against Trump and they bring up Sweeny who is not an outspoken political figure. It’s a clickbait article by irish star.com…there is more substance in the ingredients on the back of a shampoo bottle.
0
MagnetoWasRight24 3 days ago -1
And none of that has to do with your "so did 80 million people" response, you know, the thing I directly asked you about and you seem incapable of answering?
-1
spazz720 3 days ago +2
Apparently you are a daft one…80million people voted for Trump…the title of the article acts like it was a defiant act toward Sweeny. There was no reason to mention her name in the title other than to generate clicks.
2
HeartInTheSun9 4 days ago +5
Her movie from 2023 called Reality was her playing the person who leaked that Russia was trying to help Trump in 2016. I feel that’s always something that gets overlooked in all this.
5
ItsnotBatman 3 days ago +6
And she plays a closeted lesbian in Christy.
6
MagnetoWasRight24 3 days ago -1
She's the living definition of vapid, I don't think the roles she takes have anything to do with her connecting to the character or story.
-1
HeartInTheSun9 2 days ago +1
Maybe, but maybe people are just projecting beliefs onto her.
1
chunkah69 3 days ago +5
No but Listnook needs someone to hate every second of the day
5
BigMax 3 days ago +3
Yeah, I hate Trump, and I don't like his supporters. But Sweeney has done very little to publicly show any support to him at all. Most of that "she supports MAGA" stuff is projection. As far as I know, she's never made a *single* pro-trump or pro-right wing comment. Also, some of her roles aren't exactly right-wing, right? So... I think people just *want* to hate her, so they push a lot on her that isn't there.
3
ghallway 3 days ago +2
That's sorta how I read it, too.
2
harroween 3 days ago +1
She tows the line just perfectly enough to continue getting mainstream work. Silence speaks volumes though. She has been given multiple opportunities to correct the record and has chosen not to. That's really all one needs to know.

Yeah but she’s never confirmed it. She hasn’t denied it either but the writer shouldn’t have stated it as a fact since it’s just an assumption.
-4
GildedDreams25 4 days ago -1
did she not also throw a trump themed birthday party last year or something i remember hearing abt that
-1
Mataelio 4 days ago +4
She didn’t throw the party, she attended a party where people wore “Make 60 Great Again” hats and one guy happened to be wearing a Trump shirt. https://www.businessinsider.com/sydney-sweeney-misinterpretations-maga-hats-moms-birthday-2023-8
4
Equivalent-Bedroom64 4 days ago -2
So she was completely comfortable around MAGA because people in the public eye never think about publicity and what they will be associated with.
-2
DolemiteGK 4 days ago +4
It was her family.
4
Equivalent-Bedroom64 4 days ago -5
Oh so if you are related to people who align with a political ideology that hurts people, because you are related to them it somehow makes that political ideology ok? Grow a spine. If you don’t align with something you speak out against it.
-5
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +3
Most people didn’t stop taking to their immediate family over trump.
3
Equivalent-Bedroom64 4 days ago -5
Only people with principles
-5
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +1
She did but that was before she’d even registered as a republican. My point is while she most likely voted for trump she has never confirmed or denied it so it shouldn’t be stated as a fact. The writer of that article should’ve known better than to state it as a fact.
1
GildedDreams25 4 days ago +2
I think we all have enough functioning critical, thinking skills to infer based off of the fact that she had a goddamn birthday party about him that she probably voted for him and that’s enough for me frankly
2
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +1
It wasn’t her birthday party. Yeah she most likely voted for him but you still shouldn’t state it as fact when it’s not confirmed.
1
GildedDreams25 4 days ago +4
if she didn’t want to be associated with the stink she would make a statement, she doesn’t and hasn’t so clearly she doesn’t mind
4
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +1
Exactly. That’s why I say she MOST LIKELY voted for trump.
1
GildedDreams25 3 days ago +2
this is a distinction without a difference

Without taking a side either way, she literally said she voted for him. EDIT - actually, I'm not sure there is a source/quote to back that up, it's just very likely. Voting records revealed she registered as a Republican voter in Florida in June 2024, a few months before the election. She has not made any public statement about who she voted for though.
5
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago +2
She never said that but she most likely did vote for him.
2
Welikeme23 4 days ago +4
Didn't she also throw one her parents a big Trump themed birthday party?
4
Geralt_Of_Philly 4 days ago -3
Maybe open up the link and read?
-3
Useful-Soup8161 4 days ago
The writer shouldn’t have stated it as a fact when it’s still just an assumption. Sydney Sweeney has never confirmed or denied it.

I didn't see the racist thing either. Got a link?

Sydney Sweeney is a giant piece of shit so it shouldn't surprise anyone that most of her co workers dislike her and have issues with her.
3
DeliciousEarth1011 3 days ago +3
How is she?
3
SirBobPeel 2 days ago
Apparently she appeared for a jeans ad where she said she had good jeans/genes and that makes her a white supremacist or something.

Oh no a purse ! What will happen

Sea2Chi 3 days ago +2
I kind wonder if Sweeny is just like You know what, if I don't say anything one way or another they'll keep putting my name in articles. If I say my political beliefs, all the talk stops and I start fading into obscurity as the next new hot girl comes along. So I'm going to make sure that I create some press while not actually doing anything but showing up at a slightly different time or refusing to answer political questions. And the press will eat it up and make a controversy where there really isn't any.
