I’m absolutely stunned that Pauline Hanson would seek to undermine the legal process for such a serious crime as this Oh wait, no I’m not. I’m not surprised at all

Ben was involved in a war against some very bad people who like to hide in civilian clothes and blend in. I think its a bit rich that we can judge him for a decision made in a war when your enemy pretends they are civilians, while no hesitation shooting you in the back when you have your guard down.

Bullshit He is accused, among other things, of kicking an unarmed, handcuffed, non-combatant, Afghan farmer off a cliff and then ordering a subordinate to shoot the guy If those allegations are true he absolutely can and should be judged for it

idk I think I can judge a person for murdering a captured, defenceless man in cold blood and using his prosthetic as a trophy. It is, in fact, extraordinarily easy to do if you have any values beyond sociopathic desire for unaccountable violence.

You can't judge me for a war crime... Sheesh.

The people whose testimony got him charged were fighting alongside him. They were his colleagues and his peers. If his own peers can’t make the judgement call about “okay, this is sus, what the f*** Ben”…who can?

What sets us apart from that enemy is we hold our own accountable when they do horrific things.

Just because the enemy hides as civilians doesn't mean you can just start killing civilians. What BRS did disgraces the whole Australian defence force and to defend him is disrespectful to every soldier that has fought and died to protect our ideals

>Just because the enemy hides as civilians doesn't mean you can just start killing civilians. This is why our soldiers die. How are they meant to know? The enemy doesn't give two shits about rules of war. BRS may have been correct and his interpretation may have believed the farmer was a combatant. No one else decided to stop him if they thought otherwise. Should've spoken up. Only 10 years later after the event did soldiers speak up on reflection of the event. Maybe they were scared of going to jail themselves if they told the court otherwise. Seems like bullshit to me and doesnt pass the pub test. I hope the gets off and takes down everyone down that has wronged him.

Even if the farmer was a combatant, it's still a war crime to do what BRS did to him We should not be holding our soldiers to the standards of the enemy, we are a respected nation and our soldiers are heros, we are not cave dwelling sycophants that celebrate death.
