Won’t happen anytime soon, Trump affiliates are heavily invested.

I am aware. In general, the wealthy are heavily invested, which means it's not going anywhere.

And the wealthy make major gains off of gambling, so they have hedged against that crisis. Who do you think own the c*****'s and online gambling platforms? They are not local mom and pop businesses.

I mean we've raised entire generations on gambling at this point. Late Gen X had computer games, millennials had that and trading card games, late millennials and beyond have had all of the above and blind boxes, lootboxes, and basically everything else introducing some form of gambling mechanism.

US federal courts aren’t even allowing *states* to regulate prediction markets let alone counties.

They are already banned in a lot of places they're just ignoring local state law and asking the federal government and Trump admin to take over.

Prediction market is the single worst euphemism of the 21st century.
Gambling is gambling. Degenerates don't get to sugar coat it.

Can we just ban them all together? Nothing but wasted time and money amd a rot on society. Gambling should be legal in certain physical spaces you must go to not at home in your dirty undies on whether or not Trump/ Epstein drops a nuke.
You know that the idiot spawn of Trump our investors right? Another way to take from the working class and prey on people with gambling addictions. Sick.

Seeing the stats on the percentage of Americans on these apps was very depressing. The majority of bets do not seem to be on actual chance, but instead on access to inside knowledge. Yet, the majority of people betting on these things are putting money into “bets” as if they’re chance. I could be making money based off of my access to sensitive industry information. But I’m not, because it’s f****** unethical.

Prediction markets definitely need to be regulated.
That said, the notion that one individual rogue election worker can cause the election to be stolen is a rightwing fantasy.

Maybe if you're only considering federal elections, but state and local are entirely different stories.

The little old lady counting envelopes doesn't find out who won until everybody else finds out who won. I promise.
Paranoia and ignorance about how elections work are rampant and it really needs to stop.

While that is true, a person who counted even a relatively small number of ballots could mathmatically extrapolate the election result with a concerning level of accuracy.
2

I couldn't have done this with our last election. My polling place was overwhelmingly for the Blue Team but the electoral district went Red Team.
2
McMaster-BateApr 17, 2026

They'd only be able to extrapolate the way their county voted. And most likely by the time they got that far the county would already be publishing numbers publicly.
Also the individual poll workers likely are not counting each ballot race-by-race unless they're in a county with a population of 500.
I've heard some counties do things precinct-by-precinct instead of county wide too, which will make their extrapolations much worse.

I’m more talking about getting information before the actual vote tallies are reported. I have loads of respect for the people who run elections, but I think this is a legitimate place where insider info could lead to money.
Not accounting for the fact that the current administration is profiting hand over fist on prediction and stock markets, but I will never be too harsh on governments trying to get ahead of scams as long as they don’t restrict freedom too much, and the freedom price on this is microscopic

at least they are officially taking a stance and documenting the opposition. it means people can be removed from their positions, theoretically at least. it’s how making things illegal starts.
most people straddle the line between if something is okay or not based on consequences. so it should at least scare most casual opportunists from trying. those who want to do wrong will find a way no matter what.

I think the prediction market madness right now is *because* people think of it like gambling and want to ban insiders.
This is backwards. Prediction markets are supposed to incentivize insiders to put up or shut up to get the closest thing to the truth out there.
Prediction markets say we’re going to invade Venezuela the day before? Uh, Venezuela should have prepared better I guess.
We shouldn’t be focusing on the symptom, insiders trading on inside info, we should be focusing on the disease- that we allowed rotten people to be in charge of the worlds best military and greatest economy.

Well, no one is forcing you to take the other side of any of these trades.
People need to be responsible for themselves a little bit. Military maneuvers aren’t ducking random, and we know the real degenerates are in charge so why would you take the side against them?

ok let's engage then, against my better judgement.
> no one is forcing you to take the other side of any of these trades
the blatant manipulation fucks up global markets regardless of whether you're actively participating in the gambling, so what are you even arguing here
> Military maneuvers aren’t ducking random
yes, they're determined by the same people who are betting on them in prediction markets. We call it insider trading but it's _worse_ - rather than just trading on knowledge, they actively self-deal by betting on their own decisions.
> we know the real degenerates are in charge
we're talking about the _same f****** people_ you halfwit
