He’s a Christian terrorist. He’s killing people in the name of his religion. Any other example of this is labeled religious terrorism.

Its funny because american white nationalists have a group called "the base" can you guess what al-Qaeda directly translates to??
70
sh4tt3rai Mar 30, 2026 +30
Pretty sure that choice was intentional as they also promote jihadism and there’s a ton of nationalist literature calling for white jihad. There are actually nationalist leaders who were trying to form an alliance between them and Islamic extremists. Sorry, studying extremism is an interesting topic to me lol.

Fun fact, the GOP often refers to their supporters as, "the Base". In Arabic "the Base" translates to, "Al-Qaeda".

Every political party refers to their supports as “the base.” Because they are “their base.” This is a benign and common turn of phrase in politics.

Taliban were defending their homeland. They are a terrible group of people, but that was their land. I don't think you can consider them terrorist though they were harboring terrorist. Now their fighting those same terrorist.
29
ogredmenace Mar 29, 2026 +46
Currently the Americans are the terrorists, I have a hard time seeing the difference.
46
turningsteel Mar 29, 2026 +40
We've always been terorrists. Its just that in America, we frame it as "fighting for freedom" and "liberating people from tyranny". We go into other countries, kill whoever we fancy, take what we want, destroy whatever governmental structure they have, and then leave them with the mess.
40
nosungdeeptongs Mar 30, 2026 +11
Then Americans back home say “no don’t let people from those countries move here, look what they did to their countries!”

And before that Hegseth turned the US Mikitary into the Pirates of the Caribbean, striking random fisherman and stealing oil tankers on the high seas.

Nutcase fancies himself Richard the lionheart. From the 12th fking century. Ffs.

Richard the Lionheart was also an intellectual and a poet, so the comparison very much ends here.
39

also Richard ultimately failed and his time crusading bankrupted England.
14

Just wait until they discover that Richard did actually speak French and Occitan instead of English... Well not as if they knew what Occitan is or could place France on a map, but still.

13
steelheaddan Mar 29, 2026 +14
He’s killing people to start in his mind a Christian religious ‘Revelations’ style Armageddon to usher in a second coming of sky Jebus. Hes frothing at the mouth wanting to destroy the world which in his mind are the necessary steps to make that happen. How is that not a conflict of interest that the department of defense literally and figuratively wants to destroy the world to catch a temporary selfi with the sky god that he believes. F****** insane…
14
finnirish12 Mar 29, 2026 +23
The different factions and what they actually want: Christian Zionists: Don't actually care about Jewish people or Israel intrinsically. They need Israel to exist and expand for End Times theology to resolve correctly. Jewish people then convert or die in the final battle. It's instrumentalization of Israel for an eschatological project that ends in Jewish elimination. Netanyahu takes the money and diplomatic cover and doesn't say that part out loud. Israeli right wing: Wants unconditional US military and diplomatic cover to complete the settlement project and manage or expel the Palestinian population. Cares nothing about American democracy or Christian nationalism except as instruments toward that goal. Thiel/Musk techno-feudalists: Want the administrative state dismantled, regulation eliminated, and a transition to something closer to corporate sovereignty. Democracy is an obstacle to capital. They'll use nationalist and religious energy as a battering ram and discard it when convenient. Miller and the ethnic nationalists: Genuinely want demographic transformation of America. White Christian demographic dominance locked in before the numbers make it impossible. The courts and immigration system are the instruments. Russian foreign policy: Wants NATO dissolved, European unity broken, and American global power projection degraded. Funds and amplifies whoever moves those needles regardless of ideology. Authoritarian capital broadly: Saudi, Emirati, various oligarchic networks — want a world where human rights language and democratic accountability don't constrain capital movement or regime behavior. The overlap that makes cooperation possible: They all benefit from destroying the same institutions — independent judiciary, free press, international human rights frameworks, functional democracy, labor power. The destruction phase is shared even when the post-destruction visions are incompatible. The inherent instability: These coalitions always fracture eventually because the end goals are genuinely contradictory. Thiel's techno-feudalism has no place for Miller's ethnic nationalism long term. Russian interests and Israeli interests diverge sharply in Syria, Iran, and elsewhere. Christian Zionist eschatology is antisemitic at its endpoint. The question is whether they fracture before or after the institutions they're jointly dismantling are gone. Because if it's after, the fracture just means competing authoritarian factions fighting over the wreckage rather than a restoration of anything democratic. That's the race condition that actually matters right now.

What an insane asshat this guy is. So then, to be coherent with his absurd religious beliefs, he’d have to agree that Trump is the antichrist in this scenario, right?
383
Hungry4Media Mar 30, 2026 +117
Doesn't matter. A large part of the religious right in the US is convinced that the best thing they can do is hasten the rapture. And what's necessary for the Rapture to happen? Empowering the Antichrist so that he can ruin things and force Jesus's return to Earth.
117
Fenrisson Mar 30, 2026 +79
Even as someone who left the Church and found other spirituality, I can't help but be horrifically awestruck at the sheer blasphemy these people are actively embracing. Thinking they can somehow force their god's hand into starting the apocalypse by their own mortal deeds when said god explicitly stated none shall know the hour is the absolute f****** HEIGHT of hubris. It's an insult to every foundational belief their proclaimed faith holds in the relationship of the mortal and the divine. It's breathtakingly arrogant. And somehow they're willingly blind to the fact that their actions are not just spitting but pissing in the face of the beliefs they claim to follow.

"Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘You who are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not take care of you?’ Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’"
16
Darius_Rubinx Mar 29, 2026 +48
I count the fact he exists as strong evidence against a loving God, but a possible tick towards there being a devil.
48
LordSiravant Mar 29, 2026 +48
Perhaps the greatest trick of all was God convincing us the Devil was the bad guy. After all, wiping out damn near the entire planet because they didn't believe in him enough seems pretty evil to me. I don't even know if Satan actually *has* a body count directly attributable to him, whereas God is directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of *millions*. The Flood, Passover, Sodom and Gomorrah, just to name a few. The whole debacle with Job just makes me both sad and angry.
48
SweetenedTomatoes Mar 29, 2026 +23
It's been a while, but I don't think Satan is directly responsible for a single death in the Bible.
23
Chase_the_tank Mar 29, 2026 +21
Satan kills Job's children and servants...but had to clear the killings with God first.
21
Kid-Icky- Mar 30, 2026 +10
It's even worse than that, God specifically TELLS Satan to f*** with Job. It wasn't even Satan's idea.
10
LordSiravant Mar 30, 2026 +5
Hence why I don't attribute those deaths to Satan.
5
LordSiravant Mar 30, 2026 +7
That's why I count those deaths as being "indirectly" killed by God, since Satan did so with his explicit permission.
7
Rxasaurus Mar 29, 2026 +24
God is the abusive parent that beats his children into submission and then says, "that was because I love you"
24
LordSiravant Mar 30, 2026 +11
Yeah, as a survivor of abusive parents myself, everything about this so-called loving, jealous God just raises my hackles. I'm not even the only one in my friend group who lost their faith and became an atheist over their own abusive upbringing.
11
SolarTsunami Mar 29, 2026 +14
Why do people automatically d******* the idea that a God couldn't be cruel or indifferent, because he said so? Especially considering that we're talking about the God that will condemn you to an eternity of suffering if you don't worship him in the exact right way. I would say that any entity that demands your unconditional worship and fealty is already morally bankrupt.
14
Kid-Icky- Mar 30, 2026 +10
> Why do people automatically d******* the idea that a God couldn't be cruel or indifferent, because he said so? Most Christians believe that ***anything*** God does or commands is morally right. So even killing children or raping women is morally just if God commands it. That's why Christianity is dangerous. It allows people to justify atrocities and believe they're acting morally.
10
Darius_Rubinx Mar 29, 2026 +12
Because a cruel or indifferent god is not a god worth worshipping.

What got me about this particular group is that they were *absolutely convinced* that they were guaranteed to be taken up in their 'rapture'. Never occurs to them that not everyone shares their apocalyptic beliefs.

I've never quite understood the surety with which they proclaim their holiness and the certainty that they are the people who have it exactly right. I don't know, and you don't either.

Pentagon Pete is as clueless (and as embarrassing) as ever. He has no awareness of how out of step he is with the mindset of the military and, indeed, how out of step he is with the teachings of Christ.
203
kaykatzz Mar 30, 2026 +34
The military (especially in the Air Force) was known to have been invaded by Christian Nationals since the late 70's early 80's. I remember seeing a 60 minute segment on them. It's only gotten worse. When Bush regime started recruiting gang members, I figured the nazis would be next.
34
Ellert0 Mar 30, 2026 +13
Didn't polling of veterans show 60% of them supporting Trump? And the current troops are actively following immoral orders instead of refusing them? I think you're overestimating the people in the army.
13
DueEntertainment3237 Mar 30, 2026 +9
This might be true of commissioned officers and discharged soldiers, but from my husband and the people in his unit, most enlisted soldiers are just trying to keep their head down and provide for their families. Enlisted soldiers have had a lot of benefits and things that were standard for the military stripped from them since Trump retook office. When my husband was in Kuwait last year, they closed two of the three chow halls and made everyone get their meals to go, in addition to a directive that forbid any planned activities that didn’t directly benefit “combat readiness”. After that, he said they had at least 2 soldiers a week being sent to Germany for attempts on their own lives.

I was at first ready to give him a teeny weeny bit of grace for his attitude, because maybe he's not used to seeing candid shots of himself and that takes some getting used to, though most public figures aren't publicly such dicks about it; but then I remembered he was a f****** Fox news host and was on TV all the time and should be used to seeing his ugly mug plastered everywhere

weekend mornings is where the networks used to put the drunks we make them Cabinet Secretaries

He’s just going to get potentially thousands of American troops killed and simply not care. You’re being led by a bloodthirsty fake-Christian moron.
37
beardicusmaximus8 Mar 30, 2026 +10
Thousands? We'll wish it was thousands. All Iran has to do is keep sending 12,000 dollar drones after our 13 billion dollar carriers until we run out of million dollar missiles. We've known since the 90s that we need cheaper Anti-Air missiles but those don't make the oligarchs richer so we get million dollar telephone pole sized missiles to kill a thousand dollar kamakazi prop-plane

Pokerhobo Mar 29, 2026 +52
He's literally trying to bring the end of times. We have an extreme Christian nationalist leading our military and a narcist pedo as president. SCOTUS majority is openly corrupt. Head of DHS and DOJ widely unqualified and incompetent. Head of FCC openly suppressing Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press.
52
pornalt4altporn Mar 29, 2026 +5
It's possible casualties will be deliberately high.

Ordinary_Tangelo927 Mar 29, 2026 +26
I love that after he got all butt hurt about some supposedly unflattering photos every photo has been worse than the last. It's the little things.

Talibangelicals.

I'd be concerned if they weren't freaked out. This is basically cult shit.
16
DarkSociety1033 Mar 29, 2026 +14
Never allow your children to enlist in the military.

Jerk182 Mar 29, 2026 +10
The lunatics are running the asylum and have been for some time. It’s a miracle we’re still alive at this point. We are in serious deep shit here.

trisul-108 Mar 29, 2026 +44
The troops voted strongly for the Antichrist in the last election and now they are surprised and shocked that he is not really like Jesus.

nonubiz Mar 29, 2026 +7
Impeach Prosecute and jail for war crimes. This guy has not a clue what he is doing. He fired generals that expressed how things should be done. No it’s my way or the highway. But his way is only what he is told by trump. A lawless regime that most likely wants to take over all of North America along with Greenland. Is that what the American people want. I guess time will tell
7
keith2600 Mar 29, 2026 +6
The troops should really consider which would be less dangerous: invading Iran for no reason or upholding their oath and removing kegsbreath. I suspect the latter would have considerably less loss of life
6
sarcasticguard Mar 29, 2026 +6
It should freak troops out. It should freak all of us out to such an extent we recognize these people aren't fit for office. Their removal shouldn't be a question
6
Keptlosingmylogins Mar 29, 2026 +6
I would be too,his speech pretty much says " I'll let them slaughter you for my ego and the preidents".

"Blessed is the peace maker for they shall see God" I wonder if these people really read the whole Bible.

_Fun_Employed_ Mar 29, 2026 +5
He should be talk show host pete and he should have stayed talk show host pete, it is frankly insane that as unqualified as he is he was made secretary of war. This extends of course to most of trump’s cabinet and trump himself.

AmatureProgrammer Mar 29, 2026 +5
Hopefully after all this bull shit is over that man goes to jail for his crazy rethoric
5
Alexein91 Mar 29, 2026 +3
A sane take on the military side would be to take him out of the equation. But that's not my business.
3
Memitim Mar 29, 2026 +9
Sorry troops. You may have joined to support America, but the Republicans need you to go die for their personal agenda while they continue their attacks against Americans with their private army.
9
Miqo_Nekomancer Mar 29, 2026 +3
From the Bible of Republican Jesus, the book of Mar-a-lago, verses 34-38: *[34] And Jesus said, "Protect the pedophiles, rapists, and conmen among the masses. Guard those who hoard wealth, for they are the righteous and the just. [35] Strike down the children of your enemies and take from them what you desire, for this is your divine right. Worry not for the suffering, the starving, or the destitute, they are without purpose in God's empire. [36] Forge your plowshares into weapons, take from the people the material means to do so. Offer nothing in return, for their wealth is yours to claim and wield as you desire. [37] It is easier for a wealthy man to pass into the kingdom of God in comfort and splendor than it is for a poor man to walk into the kingdom of God. Go forth and prosper at the expense of others. Only money can set you free. [38] Harvest from the poor their sons and daughters to build your army. Let their blood soak the soil and in turn draw forth the black blood of the earth, for it is the lifeblood of your empire."*

Sad-Base-7988 Mar 30, 2026 +4
Look for a draft to begin shortly. Recruiting has tanked! They didnt give themselves time to create a large enough starving class.

BeatxDemxGutz Mar 30, 2026 +1
I'm in the military. Most people aren't even receiving it. Most people don't understand how shitty of a person he is. Even your active duty are low information voters

No-Camera-720 Mar 30, 2026 +1
This is the LAST person who should be anxious for Jesus' return. Seriously.

The three major religions will bring about the end of the world with their wars and attacks; they are the demons.
1
GexX2 Mar 30, 2026 +1
Our military being run by christofascists should freak people out.
1
boot2skull Mar 29, 2026 +8
Welcome to the death cult whether you believe or not. Your lives will be sacrificed for the end times, because surely you will land in heaven.
8
jerryleebee Mar 29, 2026 +10
That's because fighting a religious war is even more stupid than just fighting a "regular" (~~non~~ secular?) war. It's dumb as f***.
10
bb_kelly77 Mar 29, 2026 +3
A regular war would be a secular war
3

Hard choice. Which one to pick? ... /s Option 1: Integrity, Leadership, Strategy, Planning, Training, Logistics, Supply Chains, Tactics, Commitment Option 2: Snake oil, Bluster, Fairy tails, Gut feelings, Throw it at the wall and see what sticks, Profit, Mission Accomplished

Using God to justify killing. An abomination.
3
ther_dog Mar 29, 2026 +3
Pete has a script to follow. Project 2025 has a timeline. The fading of the guardrails of the separation of military and religion is just one part of the transformation of American society.
3
not2dv8 Mar 29, 2026 +3
No shit it scares them. Come to think of it, Hegseth looks a little like Lucifer.
3
wastingtoomuchthyme Mar 29, 2026 +3
shouldn't the military honor their oath and remove petey kegsbreath?
3
Tommyblahblah Mar 29, 2026 +3
What? They don't want to be the new Knights Trumplar?
3

Meh, those cowards will still follow the orders though, won't they?
3
ithink2mush Mar 29, 2026 +3
I am freaked out and I am not active duty anymore. Dude is out of his f****** mind and it is terrifying
3
bijanfrisee Mar 29, 2026 +3
The dude with a crusade tattoo is happily committing a modern-day crusade? Color me shocked.
3
despenser412 Mar 30, 2026 +3
I love it when the MAGA cult babbles on about religion. Meanwhile, their pedophile billionaire president sells autographed USA bibles online for $1,000.
3
Hans_Delbruck Mar 30, 2026 +3
It should freak them out!
3
RandomG0rl623 Mar 30, 2026 +3
Maybe they should, like, do something about it then. Idk I don't really feel bad for the morons who signed up and are acting surprised that they're being used as pawns in a pointless conflict started by psychopaths. That's kind of been our military's whole deal for around 75 years now. Put your money where your mouth is or start drafting your "I was only following orders" mea culpa.
3
dominiond66 Mar 30, 2026 +3
So, Republicans want to create a Christian military. Will this be the Christian Crusades 2.0 involving wars against Muslims worldwide? I guess that would explain Republicans actions in Iran and Iraq with assistance to Israel for attacks on Muslims in Gaza and Lebanon! This is crazy-dangerous!
3
Smoky_Porterhouse Mar 30, 2026 +3
This certainly isn't a military protocol. It must be an impeachable offense, a violation of the first amendment. Fighting a holy war under a democracy is not separation of church and state. What is he preaching to the troops? This guy has Rev Jim Jones creepiness and needs removed asap.
3
Hyperion1144 Mar 30, 2026 +3
70% of those troops voted for this. No pity now.
3
Lefty1992 Mar 30, 2026 +3
“He said that ‘President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.'" This is some scary shit! How is this guy still in charge?
3
pithynotpithy Mar 30, 2026 +1
He's in charge, because the crazed right wing christian nationalists WANT this. This is the end game for all the bullshit - their desperate attempt to make a fantasy book come true. And when it doesn't, they'll just keep trying. Stupid f****** americans couldn't see through or care enough to stop this bullshit and now we're fucked.
1
ntrpik Mar 30, 2026 +1
To my veteran friends, in your opinion what percentage of the people you encountered are on-board with Kegseth here?
1
rocksoffjagger Mar 30, 2026 +1
Can we stop calling him "Pentagon Pete" for Christ's f****** sake? How bad are these idiots at propaganda? The Pentagon is exactly what he wants to be associated with. Call him Pete Hagueseth or Deadbete Kegsbreath or something. This really is not so f****** hard to figure out.
1
Lancer420 Mar 30, 2026 +1
Yeah troops, do your f****** job, uphold/defend the constitution, protect this country from threats foreign AND DOMESTIC and goddamn arrest the whole f****** treasonous administration and all accomplices.
1
Gamera971 Mar 30, 2026 +1
And they are still legally correct not to follow any illegal orders issued by Hesgeth. Every single American soldier should remember that.
1
Georgi2024 Mar 30, 2026 +1
Those troops will be massacred in Iran because of the lack of strategy, experience and military understanding from these yobs.
