Stop entertaining the notion that these people are sincere in their beliefs. They are *con men*. They will say *anything* and act like they believe *anything*. To ascribe genuine *belief* to anything they say is giving them too much credit.

Dude, asides from JD Vance, I don't think anyone else in Trumps circle are Catholic.
If they aren't Catholic, **they don't give a f*** about the Pope.**

Yeah, I have to disagree. I *wish* they were merely conmen, because conmen can at least be "trusted" to cynically act in their own best interests. They can be reasoned with, in the right circumstances, with the right leverage. But too many in Trump's circle seem to truly believe their own bullshit.
And True Believers are far more dangerous specifically because they can never be reasoned with.

“Behold now the wicked who rise against your justice and the peace of the righteous. Snap the rod of the oppressor, frustrate the wicked plans and break the teeth of the ungodly. By the blast of your anger, let the evil perish. Grant this task force clear and righteous targets for violence.”
I do not think he actually wants God to snap the rod of the oppressor or frustrate the wicked.
I do not think he understands who stands in which role here.

I find the most hilarious thing about Christians and their “holy war” against Islam is…they both pray to the same f****** god. It’s not even a “My god is better than your god” war, it’s goddamn “You don’t worship our god the right way” war. Religion is a scourge.
9
musical_bearApr 3, 2026

Many of them on either side would tell you it’s not the same god. And idk, I kind of see their point. Mormons also worship “the same god” according to their canon and I don’t see the “same god” comments being made (often) when comparing Mormonism to Christianity, or Mormonism to Islam (frankly I never see that comparison being made at all).
But imo every single individual religious human worships their own god, and their own god coincidentally seems to have all of the same beliefs and wants as the individual dreaming up that god. It’s dangerous shit when you think your own personal opinions are backed by a powerful supernatural being who’s on your side and is accountable to no one.

No, the most hilarious thing about Christians is how badly they kept getting their shit handed to them in crusades and they just kept trying and failing. They *sucked* at crusades.
After they tired themselves out smashing their heads against Muslim shields for three hundred years or so, the Mongols rolled up all the way through the Holy Land and fairly deeply into Europe with no particular motivation other than that it felt like a fun thing to do.

The fun thing about god is that as an invention of man, he can be whatever men want. He can love rapists, liars and violent men, while seeing anyone who doesn’t like that, or conform to their social standards as evil. Because that exactly describes what these people believe. What literally millions of Americans believe.

Simultaneously, the President he serves under has motives to distract and profit. It's a constellation of cryptic convenience.

I believe 100% of human beings do not understand God, nor the foundation of what we know as "reality". science has some fairly useful models that help with daily life... that's about it. the big questions? forget about it. plenty of people willing to kill you over their opinions though.
1
truthrisesApr 3, 2026
There are at least as many interpretations of God as there are believers. Some of them are harmful, and unfortunately there's no pop up warning when you start being evil. But none of them are wrong, because beliefs are subjective.
