One of the conspiracies I would not be surprised to find out is true, is that the Bush admin had prior knowledge of the attack and let it happen. Very likely Nutlick was warned not to go to work.
I am also curious if the Bush family ties to the Bin Ladens and whatever shit they schemed contributed to Osama Bin Laden turning extremists.

Man think of the utopia we could be living in if it wasnt for the US holding back the entire world for the past 4 decades.
25
ghenriks2 days ago
+3
The flip side though is that up until last year the US government was a huge funder of the science that would have been needed for that utopia
3
Marijuana_Miler2 days ago
+2
I would disagree that the change was until last year. The US greatly cut science funding that didn’t agree with Reagan or Bush’s agenda. The country was ahead in electric cars and solar tech, but pulled back funding because it would upset oil execs and has seceded the lead in those industries to China who has been innovating on American innovation. Trump is just a symptom of greater American failure.
2
ghenriks2 days ago
+2
That’s a very narrow view of what science research is necessary for a utopia.
While the US may not have led on those things they were a huge part of other science including medical treatments as one example

I remember GM releasing an EV in the mid 90s that got imploded by the oil industry. Even the ones sold were bought back and later destroyed. A few people fought it in court only to eventually lose.

Tesla was bailed out by the Obama administration. Also, Tesla stopped being Tesla 5 years ago and I’m talking about making a societal system that leads to innovation. Tesla worked because Elon was psychopathic about his bet succeeding so he could become the richest man on earth. I hope you understand that holding up Tesla as a reason why the American model is the best feels to me like it further reinforces my original point.

We might actually realize some of that if they don’t spitefully drag us all down with them during their decline. I’m optimistic though. Most Americans can’t or won’t believe it’s happening.

The current US regime is wholly untrustworthy, incoherent, corrupt, feckless, craven, vile and incompetent. It caters to its nihilistic and malignant Cult and its authoritarian leader.
Based on what we have seen across the last almost-15 months in negotiations and agreements with other erstwhile allies, we cannot trust any commitment, agreement nor treaty that the US regime “commits” to.
We should have diversified in the last century. Better yet, we should have put a stake in the Hyde Park Declaration of April 1941, at the end of World War II.
Better to start diversification of our risk and our economy, security and defence arrangements now and not wait until tomorrow. Painful for the next 3-5 years but in the long term, the alternative is much worse.

Remember, the more Lutnick hates Canadian trade policy, the better/more effective it is. If we were the 51st state providing all our natural resources for free he'd be happy.
We should seriously talk to Alexander Stubb about how Canada could join the EU with flexibility on the periphery while maintaining our own currency and immigration policy while taking advantage of free trade with europe.
Stubb is an expert in this area. Flexible membership in the EU was his PhD thesis topic. Also, what do you guys think of restarting Energy East (pipeline), and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) in addition to wind generation?
BTW, if you call the US on it's bluffs, as Iran has done, it TACOs out.

Have fun importing Russian products, they’re the last ones willing to do business with you.
