This is fine... Considering we consistently build one huge factory to build essential war equipment that would take years to replace. Nothing could possibly go wrong with that... Wake up people, the world has changed and efficiency should take a back seat to redundancy.

Ukraine has survived because of its decentralized and even largely underground arms industry.

and a very c**** arms industry that war isnt being won by multi million dollar missiles and planes costing tens/hundreds of millions its being won by drones at 5-10k a pop that can be produced by the tens of thousands per week type scale you need the missile defence to bleed the opponent dry (assuming they have a good missile supply), and they sure dont hurt to have them yourself. but if you can only pick 2? missile defence + drones is the clear future

In soviet russia ukraine used to be their industrial powerhouse, especially for weapon manufacturing. And they retained that after the break up, so no surprises there. A lot of illegal arms trafficking even before the war had weapons from ukraine, instead of russia like people think.

Dude they’ve got so good at building them, bog-standard FPVs cost them about 110USD. Wild, and probably the cheapest dollar to casualty ratio.

They boast the most decentralized electric grid by now, too.

I thought they ran out of professionals when they murdered the head of Wagner or something like that. Where are they finding professionals this late in their week-long war?

Prigozhin wasn't a storied commando, he was a ex-con acting as a catering manager to the kremlin who manged to wind his way into no bid contracts for the military in 2010. Wagna was invented to capture Ukraine in 2014 and Prigozhin denied any links until 2022 (at which point he declared he was a founder in 2014). He presumably got the job as a logistics guy, not as a genius on the battlefield. He was dead by mid 2023 because he couldn't pick the right fights. Professionals?!

this is sabotage, not open warfare.

Aka "everyone is too scared to go to Ukraine so we'll say we're experts on Finland or blending in on the beach in Spain to get out of it."

This was in the Soviet playbook through the ‘60s through the ‘90s. Why would they have changed anything?

Russia learning to use asymmetrical attack over cannon fodders.

Nope. Sabotage cells for inside the EU, the meat waves are how they conduct reconnaissance to find the weak points in Ukraine's defence line.

Been saying this for years ..saw it happening light years ahead

It's basically a war induced military reform for Russia and doubly efficient because no one thinks they do anything which is comical.

Same , practically already know how this is all gonna fold out

Why can't Poland do the same?

Pigeon_Breeze May 8, 2026 +1
That's not going to do much for Russia at this stage.  They need low cost recruits to keep Ukraine from advancing. Professional sabotage cells are what you use *before* a war, not at the tail end of it.
