Polish PM in apparent jab at Orbán: first EU summit with no Russians in the room
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said that "for the first time in years there are no Russians in the room" at an informal EU summit in Cyprus, in an apparent reference to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who chose not to attend following his election defeat.

Great job! My biggest worry is that Magyar won just right when world economy is going to shit because of MAGA, so there will be tough years ahead for everyone. I hope Hungarians won't react to that thinking "yes, Orban was bad but things are even worse with Magyar" and vote Orban back. Americans need to move their ass and toss their shit out as well.

It would be nice if US reversed course, but i don't really see it, it might be four years of "normal" after Trump, but they will no doubt pivot back to insanity and chaos come 2032. The break-up is already under way, i don't see that reversing either, cause again, nobody trusts the US anymore.

the US had their chance to regain world trust at the end of trumps 1st term by putting him in prison. They reelected him 4 years later instead... After giving him absolutely no sentence for 34+ felony convictions.

I hope so too. But I have good news, a pollster called Medián made a post-election poll and Fidesz's (Orbán's party) popularity dropped by 18% already and the new government hasn't even been formed yet.  Source: https://rtl.hu/hirado/2026/04/22/fidesz-tisza-nepszeruseg-median-kutatas-valasztas

While not a fan of Fico, I don't think there's evidence of them just relaying all confidential EU summits to the Russian FM (yet).

"Yet" is right. That dirty m*********** spent 2 weeks in a hotel room in Thailand on "holiday" hiding from everyone and doing things only the Russians know.
65
Puzzled-Shoe2 13 hr ago +5
There are not, because all instructions from Russia to Fico went thru Hunagrian Foreign Minister. Fico cannot do anything properly, not even collaborate.

Because if they did then the next procedure is to strip them of their veto power and then give it another go. Veto power can be stripped by a unanimous vote of all other member states, and previously Hungary under Orban and Slovakia gave each other cover.

As much as I like the good Donald (Tusk), lets not kid ourselfs. There are more rusky kronies and spies in european structures.

Not relevant for an EU meeting.
10
Somhlth 1 day ago -5
Don't really care if you think it's relevant or not, as the number of Russian stooges currently stinking up the US government affects all of us, including the EU.
-5
ZuAusHierDa 1 day ago +10
But that’s not what Tusk was talking about.

Somhlth 1 day ago -5
He was talking about Russian stooges, and appreciating not having them around. I too would appreciate that.

Thank you for representing the US in this event that has nothing to do with us. Please, continue to make us all look like self centered ass hats who can only see their own troubles and never under any circumstance miss an opportunity to screech about it.

People saying Bulgaria = Orban Hungary now should read a little more. Bulgarias new president is definitely closer to Russia than most, but he for example already committed to not blocking the EU Loan to Ukraine, which is a giant hurdle in helping Ukraine. So please read what he actually says and does, before dumbing it down to Bulgaria = Orban.

I will, thanks for giving some background.

You won't be able to find that much because he is extremely vague on purpose. So we will have to wait and see what his actual position is. Definitely has some pro-russian talking points, but the actual policies remain unknown
21
takeda64 1 day ago +7
> but the actual policies remain unknown that's the worst, because either mean he only cares about power has no policies (best case in this scenario), or he knows they will be very unpopular.

People have pointed out that most of the Rafevs "Pro-russian" statement was aimed more at gathering voters than anything. He is known as being extremely pragmatic otherwise and will most likely try and act as a middleman.

Weird thing to say by a guy that was close with Putin a few years back, often talked with him behind closed doors and insisted the investigation of plane crash in which many polish politicians died was handled by russians. Did I mention he didn't want to fly with the rest at that time? But hey, eveyrbody forgot, right? He's absolutely against russians and he doesn't even know who Putin is.
