> The DOJ announced the news Thursday morning ... claiming Shiesty and his pal Big30 kidnapped and robbed several alleged victims at gunpoint in a Dallas music studio.
> Eight of the nine suspects -- including Shiesty -- were arrested Wednesday across three cities -- Memphis, Nashville and Dallas -- according to the DOJ.
> In their complaint, the DOJ claims the incident went down January 10 ... when they allege Shiesty invited three music industry pros to the Dallas studio to discuss his contract. Shiesty was previously signed to Mane's 1017 label.
> The DOJ claims Shiesty and his alleged co-conspirators "executed an armed takeover" ... during which they say Shiesty forced one of the alleged victims to sign a release form at gunpoint, which letting him out of his recording contract.
> Federal officials say Shiety and his crew stole Rolex watches, jewelry and cash from their alleged victims.

Ridiculous. That contract was great when Gucci signed him and made him a millionaire. Then Pooh got out of prison and dropped some trash ass singles, realized that he had no motion & his fans were deserting his music. He wasn't getting any streams and he decided that it was Gucci and his contracts fault when in reality he fell into the same trap as all rappers who get locked up just as they're success is peaking. Ask Beanie Seigel, Mystikal, & BG

Contracts signed under duress, or for the purpose of committing a crime is not honored in court. No matter who is agreeing to what. If we make a contract that says "I'm allowed to kill lavahot if he steals my weed" and you sign it I still get charged for murder if I follow through. The contract doesn't excuse it.
If we make one where it's like "any crime committed by Poltergeist under the employ of lavahot will only be charged to poltergeist" that doesn't stand. If I steal a Porsche for you while acting as your body guard we are both getting prison time.
That release form is getting ripped to shreds by a judge and any prosecutor fresh out of the bar exam

Ice2jcApr 2, 2026

That’s a shame because that just tells me that Pooh is a boy with nothing to lose and he cannot comprehend a man that has something to lose. If you’re sitting at a business table and you pull a gun and steal some one’s watch and think there won’t be consequences because of “street cred” then you’re detached from reality. Gucci Mane has real money, a real career and a family. That’s the position he put himself in when he got out of prison. Pooh can enjoy his valuable street cred behind bars.

It gets worse when you realize all the evidence they have on them.
•Electronic monitoring data placing Williams Jr. at the offense location in violation of his home detention conditions;
•Cell phone records and license plate reader data corroborating the coordinated travel of mul
tiple defendants from Memphis to Dallas;
•Rental car records confirming Williams Sr. rented a vehicle used by the group;
•Surveillance footage from the offense location, a nearby office supply store, and a hotel where several defendants stayed following the offense;
•Latent fingerprints recovered from the crime scene matching two defendants;
•Social media posts by defendants displaying what appears to be stolen property in the days following the offense;
•Greyhound Bus records confirming the travel of multiple defendants from Dallas to Memphis the day after the offense.
Not only did they post pictures of the stolen jewelry, but one of them had a freaking ankle monitor on at the time of the robbery lol.
They just threw away at least a decade of freedom over this shit.

Gucci Mane is well known, but Pooh Shiesty has only 6 million daily listeners on spotify which isn't anything crazy and it's not surprising most people have never heard of him.

I think more people know Pooh Shiesty from this viral pic from a few years ago than his music.

Could be regional too.
I've heard of him and am assuming he's a rapper just by the blingy name, but have never seen mention of him in general media in my country.
He's certainly not in the general popular zeitgeist like Chappell Roan or something, at least where I live.

Everyone in a music sub circlejerking about not knowing who Gucci Mane is is genuinely embarrassing

I remember during the early/mid 2000s? (Maybe I dont remember) all the “free Gucci mane” merch that was around. And I remember him getting bagged by em, hopsin (eh he was pretty unknown, still is), and Young Jeezy. (I think this is the one that landed him in jail for awhile, again idk) lmfao

All I can picture when someone says "Pooh Sheisty" is a crafty little half naked pooh bear devising a scheme to steal some honey.
How is anybody supposed to take someone seriously when they give themselves a name like that?

I'm a white guy that's about to be 38, I definitely know "Back In Blood" was a massive hit for Pooh Shiesty a few years back, and Gucci Mane's a straight up legacy artist at this point.

Another day, another case of r/music not knowing modern artists.
I get it, the names are funny and they're modern rappers so no one should care.
Its not like they have 20m monthly listeners combined on Spotify alone, or anything.

this sub skews older and has never really been partial to hip hop, beyond like pop R&B and the occasional rap feature on a non-rap track.
Not knowing Pooh Sheisty is whatever, his fame is purely online so his crowd is young.
But not knowing Gucci Mane, c'mon... lol

Obligatory Gucci Mane's biggest fan is former NASCAR driver and good ol' boy [Mark Martin](https://youtube.com/shorts/bPD2qGoNG_I?si=QHW5vJndNbu4lOuS)
