There is no reason innocent children need to suffer with excruciating pain from cancers, etc, yet God designed it that way. That is unnecessarily cruel and has nothing to do with free will.

So basically, God created a game for himself (which he already knew how it would turn out), then sat back like it was The Sims… watching most of the characters turn into psychopaths. Sounds like a swell God.

So by your logic, children of this world deserved to be sexually exploited, starve, etc because some mythical sky God created two imperfect beings with “free will” that were manipulated into eating a fruit? 🤡 All suffering in this world can be traced back to that same story(Adam & Eve) and the cause does not justify the effect.

If we assume that God is omniscient and omnipotent, he knew exactly what everyone would do from the start when creating the universe. Só all the suffering is in his hands, because if he didn't wanted that he could have just created a different universe were that wouldn't happen.

If God is truly omnipotent and knows everything that will ever happen including every decision a person makes before they make that decision - then we don't truly have free will. God knows which humans go to hell before they even think about committing the sins that will damn them.

Right, but the interesting aspect is that warfare sanctioned by God is explicitly in the bible, so I think the topic at hand here is the Pope saying something that goes against the good book, *and* decrees made by past Popes who are still recognized to date as having been God's representatives on Earth It's a tricky thing in Catholicism that a bunch of popes did rather shitty things but are still recognized as proper popes for the sake of the stability and continuity of the church, meaning that we have to acknowledge that as far as the Catholic church is concerned, their acts were sanctioned by God

Pointless to even say that, there are ton of warmongering popes that were sainted and still venerated. If the papal states hadn't lost to Italy, they'd still be waging war because they had been for their entire existence until they lost the means to do it anymore. I'm more interested on how the Catholics feel about it, this goes against the book. Maybe they can start blessing same sex marriages now.

Most normal people are against wars and slaughter, it's innate. Just that he speaks for God is ridiculous to me. 

That’s a lie. He frequently speaks out directly against ideas pushed by the Trump administration. He’s doing a much better job than the previous one.
