The last sentence of the first paragraph is much more positive than the headline: "Now scientists hope to use their tricks to inspire new drugs and treatments."

Really shitty quote for the article title that doesn't summarize what the article is about.
They found a deep cave bacteria that's resistant to antibiotics despite only living off of other bacteria. This is fascinating for researchers because originally we assumed that disease-causing bacteria was becoming antibiotic resistant because of our overuse of antibiotics.
But these bacteria haven't been exposed to our medicine, they're not disease-causing.
This might help paint a more accurate picture of why bacteria get antibiotic resistance and subsequently, help us deal with them.

Shame they haven’t got much funding for the novel antibiotics they have potentially found. Antimicrobial resistance is a huge issue that’s growing every year.

It is offensive to deep cave labs to suggest that the deep cave lab bacteria came out of the deep cave lab.

I live above a wet cavern system and have no desire to explore it first-hand. I take no comfort that they’d name the disease that I brought out after me. I think it has saved our neighborhood from the recent Oahu floods tho, which is nice.
