I only skimmed over it but already spotted some brilliant Easter eggs like the Stonecutters logo on a book and the stein they drink out of.

I feel like he mostly functions as a vehicle for other characters to say or do funny things around him (Skinner mostly), but Chalmers has some underrated banger lines. His line in the episode where he fires Skinner gets me every time. "Oh, I have had it, I have had it with this school, Skinner. The low test scores, class after class of ugly, *ugly* children!" It comes so quickly and unexpectedly with the gratuitous double emphasis on "ugly", I always end up with my ribs hurting laughing at it.

I want to assume you're joking but I have a friend 10 years younger than me that was astonishingly unaware of The Simpsons so I don't know what's going on in the world anymore.

If you're serious then I strongly recommend watching it. The early seasons are widely considered some of the best TV ever made. I would say just go and check out any episode from Season 3 to Season 8 (generally considered the golden age) and see if you enjoy it. Then, if you do, just go wild. The first two seasons are great but the show hadn't really settled into itself so they don't give you the best idea of what to expect. Willing to take the /r/woosh on this since it's not totally impossible that some younger people genuinely haven't heard of The Simpsons. I know I'd love to be able to experience it for the first time so I urge you to do so.
