Pro-Kremlin lawyer’s turn against Putin reveals rift in Russian power circles | Ilya Remeslo was put in a psychiatric hospital after criticizing Vladimir Putin. Now free, he said that he will not stop his crusade against the Russian president.
Gotta say, I admire his guts. I just hope they stay inside him.

Nothing to admire about this guy. He was fine with all of this until it became „embarrassing“.

Lately the big Russian military bloggers have been more open about calling out the Kremlin and the failed war lately. Power structures have to be allowing it to happen or even pushing it, normally these guys would already be in the gulag.
I think there really are some big rifts forming.

Putin overplayed his hand with Ukraine then got caught in a meat grinder war and refusing to back off for 5 years due to sunk cost fallacy. We know their economy is fucked, we know the longer this goes on the worse Russia ends up at the end of this no matter what. That the criticism is getting through more and more could be because some inside the whole thing know this war is lost or worse know theres an impending disaster. Putin is the guy who caused all this and refused to back off. Ukraine is also getting stronger with support from others and the US has lost its leverage thanks to that degenerate Trump while Europe has seen the biggest Vatnik C*** Polisher get reefed by a vengeful Hungarian Electorate.
Putin hiding in his Bunker like a b**** is proof the walls could be closing in on him, a few inside the Kremlin might be thinking that its time to cut their losses, throw all the blame and consequences on Putin and throw them all out the window and whoever comes after makes a genuine push to end the conflict, something Ukriane will drive a hard bargain on including the return of all stolen territory for the last 12 years. Wether it happens or not remains to be seen but the indicators are all there and Russia might be about to run out of time and suffer consequencea and vengence long due against them.

So they are criticizing the effectiveness of what Putin is doing, rather than morality. I have doubts that the change that is brewing will bring improvements we want.

I think the same. Like Wagner going to Moscow, they didnt go top stop the war. They went to Moscow to be able to go at it much harder...

Just so long as Russia withdraws from all of Ukraine, that's probably the best that can be expected for now.
Then Ukraine can fortify the borders to extreme lengths to make the next Russian invasion that much harder and more costly. It would take Russia a while (hopefully) to recover considering the significant destruction of their oil and gas facilities.

I mean, whatever his opinions are or were, he, right now, has some massive f****** balls

I wonder what his life is right now. Does he move around daily, hiding with friends or randos and hoping the KGB is one step behind?
Or is he slumming it in some abandoned place, posting through VPNs and wearing a fake moustache + nose combo so the boogeymen don't Windows Vista his butt?
Or... is he legitimately living "normally" and just talking mad shit, somehow convinced or knowing that they won't Polonium Gray him or find him after a successful sudoku solve with 12 bullet holes in the back of his head?
Perhaps my imagination is too wild, but how does a man doing this live???
