Even though I was skeptical of it, I think he's going to be pretty hilarious with Peter Parker & I wouldn't be surprised if they'll manage to lean heavier on some over the top aspects of his character in a good way (and maybe he'll still have some fights that can still be intense/vicious in their own right without the extra goriness of his fights in the other shows)

Maybe. We only saw him break the guards arm and take the key. We didn't see what happened next. They could easily show ten more guards in the next room who run in and subdue Frank. It's like when someone dies in a show. Unless you see the body you never fully know.

I loved Wonder Man, and unless they can pull off a miracle like that again with a relatively unknown character, I’d rather Disney invest in famous ones that’ll work for sure if they’re gonna start cutting back. Punisher had like 3 movies before mcu even became a thing. That’s definitely one of the last characters they should be wanting to save some money on.

I've liked them all before this one. I agree early Daredevil Punisher was better than current MCU Punisher. Tom Jane is my person fav, but I liked that Tim Bradstreet would do cover art with him as the inspiration.

Nope. Punisher's family was killed by the mob in a random shootout while Frank was on a day off having a picnic. The fact that it's random and not payback is important to the character. Punisher in MCU's family is killed in a shootout that is tied to his time in a "black ops squad".
