Last night I was watching WWE Friday Night SmackDown. I started it from my DVR from the beginning because right when it was beginning I was actually on YouTube watching the Artemis II
Splashdown so I started SmackDown about 20-30 minutes late. I began it at the beginning to see it from the start. Even with fast forwarding through commercials I never quite caught up to live TV To make things worse, as I was nearing the end of the show it just stopped. The show wasn't quite over yet. All of a sudden it just froze the picture and said something about Save or Delete recording. Well, stupid me, I accidentally hit delete. Now I'd like to watch the On Demand version. I've watched the on demand version before and it seems to always stop short of the program's end as well. Is this a known issue?? You'd think the On Demand version would show the entire program since it's not the one that was recorded from and stored on the DVR.
Help, totally confused and a bit upset.
PS, I’ve already added this to the DIRECTV stream sublistnook, but they take forever to answer sometimes so I thought maybe asking here would give me a quicker response.
damn that's frustrating. the on demand versions usually cut off few minutes early because of how they handle the broadcast feeds - it's not just your dvr acting up. i've noticed this with lot of sports and live shows where the actual end time runs over what's scheduled.
might be worth checking if wwe posts the full episode in their app or youtube later, sometimes they upload complete versions there.

Even back the olden days of VCR and DVR I would have this happen if a broadcast ran over. Back then, at least on the VCR, you could program it to run over and have a buffer at the end of the scheduled time.

Regular satellite DVR you can also extend the time but apparently with DIRECTV stream it’s not available

Same problem when I used VCR. Shows on NBC would end at 11:01. Drove me nuts. That one minute is crucial.
