When they lost Deborah Vance I knew the writing was on the wall.

God the new Hacks episode was so good. It’s actually so strange seeing them get along this early in the season, and getting to see some real development from Deborah, her actually throwing Ava a birthday party and putting in all the effort was so sweet.

Watch HSN tonight for a special deal if you want to buy QVC.

Beware the autoship though. You'll wind up with way more QVC than you need

My 75-year old shopping-addicted mother just fell to her knees at HomeGoods.

Who the heck is lending a company like this $6.6 Billion. I don't get it.

Gotta launder that money somehow

ManInShowerNumber3 Apr 17, 2026 +10
Huge chunk of that is probably vendor debt

Someone who heard the phrase QVC AI?

It’s cause they lost Debrah Vance’s demographic of ladies who drink wine all day in front of the tv.

If only teenager me in the 1990's had purchased more Star Trek collectable plates at 2AM, this could have been avoided.

I know a lot of older women in rural areas that are probably going to be very sad.

Weirdly enough they've actually become a pretty decent place to buy video games if you stack it with their new customer d*******.

Same, literally made a few throwaway emails because they had some coupon that was like "45% off games" coupon.

Yeah I bought things like toasters and a lap desk and planters from them.

Someone call Lori aka Queen of QVC Greiner! Only she can save it now.

I blame the death of my grandmother in February. She was probably spending a couple hundred a month, if not more.

So now where are those mobile home parks going to buy their chocolate-dipped apples for $12?
6
Uglybutstillwinning Apr 18, 2026 +1
$12? That’s a steal. Normally they sell fruit for $49.99 plus s&h

Maybe don't fire all my hard working friends.

My grandmother kept them afloat for as long as possible. She will be upset.

My grandmother worked for QVC for nearly 30 years, lived and breathed that place, and died in 2020 right before the pandemic. My mother-in-law bought us things we never asked for from the local QVC outlet store constantly and she died in 2022. I used to joke that with both of them passing so close together, QVC would have something to worry about.

Probably a cliche but that South Park episode about QVC basically conning pensioners is relevant here. It’s always been a grift to take money from the vulnerable.

In the days before Amazon, it was the closest thing to Amazon. I was a little kid and watched it a lot. I eventually got two NES games from them, though both were Acclaim licensed junk games. (Bart VS The Space Mutants, wheeee!) As Amazon came for the Sears catalog and then the whole store, and people got comfortable mail ordering massive amounts of stuff through a terminal, that's when QVC shifted to the "buying stuff to hear another human voice" crowd.

I worked for them in 2018-2019. The trouble was already starting back then as I remember my manager being apologetic about the bonus/raise being really bad that year.

My mother’s friend would constantly buy stuff from them. She’d talk about how they’d have her on the air to talk to the hosts. She wound up racking up $90,000 in credit card debt in QVC shit alone.

What’s nuts is Instagram is basically qvc now.

My first huge crush in the 90s was QVC host Lisa Mason.

Well, there was only so long they could remain solvent after my mom passed

Didn't they stop selling cigarettes?

Smh this is the millennials in their 50s fault. They were supposed to pick up this baton.
1
Ermahgerd_Sterks Apr 18, 2026 +6
There are no millennials that are 50 yet.

Gen X here. It's okay, sometimes I want to forget I exist too.
