The explosion in the server room was supposed to disable everything electronic like cameras and card readers. Yet the next episode they keep using the card readers.
Just a plot hole or am did I miss something?
I don't know anything about that show, but when there is a system outage, any sophisticated operation will have offsite backups that they can fail over to so systems will start coming back online with minutes, and access control would probably be one of the highest priority systems to get back up first.
Also, the server for the access control system could have been at a different location to begin with.
Also, if there is a network outage, most access control systems will store a list of authorized cards on each tap point, so if there is a system outage they will still work, and only new cards issued after the outage would not work.
