Imagine if the rally continued for weeks or months, with a growing number of people joining in. Trump gets mad and uses force to suppress it...
Then Canada launches missiles at the US to fix that.
As ridiculous as it sounds, that's literally what Trump did to Iran.

What Trump did was actually significantly worse than that. Iranians protested for weeks *while Trump egged them on and assured them the US would help*. Then Trump did f***-all as Iran slaughtered tens of thousands of protesters. *Then*, only after the slaughter, Trump attacked Iran with a half-assed plan and no stated goals.
Trump somehow made the country *that just slaughtered tens of thousands of its own citizens* come out looking like the *good* guys.

I mean it kind of is exactly what The States did to Iran.

Those things happened, but that was not the causal chain. The US attacked to distract from PEDO-files being released and to create market manipulation opportunities. Trump gave zero fucks about their protestors

Closer but we have been rattling a saber at Iran forever. If it wasn’t Trump it would have been some other moron

Is a red flare the same thing as a red flag? I've never heard that term used once in all my 50 years on this planet.

"We see, therefore, that War is not merely a political act, but also a real political instrument, a continuation of political commerce, a carrying out of the same by other means. All beyond this which is strictly peculiar to War relates merely to the peculiar nature of the means which it uses. That the tendencies and views of policy shall not be incompatible with these means, the Art of War in general and the Commander in each particular case may demand, and this claim is truly not a trifling one. But however powerfully this may react on political views in particular cases, still it must always be regarded as only a modification of them; for the political view is the object, War is the means, and the means must always include the object in our conception."

If you're going to go to the trouble to quote someone you could at least indicate an attribution.

You guys need to vote for the right people. Protests are great but only voting can change outcomes.

What is this supposed to mean? Yes democracy is by definition a popularity contest.

Do you think political change happens in a 24 hour period? When you read history books do you think historic moments happens as quickly as your eyes read them on the page? Things take years and decades. Stuff does not happen overnight. I’m not sure if the protest will work but it does show mass dissatisfaction with current affairs and at the very least is showing political leaders what their voters want.
Save democracy, out of control cost, no more wars, stop sending ice to the streets, among other things. Telling these people to “do nothing, nothing ever changes” is so stupid. Things do change. Women can vote. Black people are no longer bought and sold into slavery. Gay people can marry. If we wouldn’t have fought for those things, they wouldn’t be so.

This the third one? Over the span of a year? Are we just pretending those never happened. What changed with the first two?
The only thing I can see that changed from No Kings I to No Kings III is the headliners got bigger. And now everyone has gone home, and they are doing exactly the same thing today, that they did Friday.
There are no leaders pointing the direction. It was just "Everyone Should Be Really Upset The Sequel -Sequel". Half the speakers were shills for fundraising groups. I was so disheartened.
I want change. Not singaolongs.

Republicans in Montana literally tried to shut it down by pulling the permit. Republicans wouldn't be trying to stop it if it didn't matter.
Unity among the people is the single biggest threat to the far right and they all know it.

It does a few things:
Political pressure on lawmakers and regulators.
Social pressure on these communities.
When he loses his illegal third term election in 2028, and they want to say it was stolen because surely everyone loves Dear Leader, this makes it clear that no, he is not actually that popular.
I’m not an activist though, someone else more expert on this topic can give a more complete answer.
