That can't be Netflix's biggest risk.

Sounds like an excuse to fill Netflix with AI slop. "We had to do it to compete with Youtube!" He mentions competing with a free service like Youtube, enhanced by AI to steal young people's attention, but nothing about the existing free streamers that more resemble Netflix? I'm no longer in that coveted 18-29 demo, so my habits don't matter, but I don't watch the same type of content on Youtube as I do on Netflix. I watch tv shows and movies on Netflix while Youtube is for video essays, current events, music and whatever weird content tickles my fancy at the moment. For me, Youtube isn't a competitor for Netflix, but Tubi? Pluto TV? A lot closer. Those free services will be an even bigger threat in the future. There is so much TV being made, even if a lot of us don't even watch it on TVs. I don't even own one anymore. Older shows get snapped up by the free streamers. Assuming that continues, streamers and networks will contract many of the shows coming out today to the free, ad supported, streamers. They won't have the newest shows, but with the amount of TV being made, and the lack of a universal pop culture, that might not matter as much anymore. Hell, with the amount of time I scroll Netflix looking for something to watch, I'd be saving a lot of money doing the same on Tubi. Just surfed over there and they have the original twilight zone. Didn't even need a damn minute!
