So Republicans are going after her because *five years ago the state of Florida accidently deposited too much money into an account for a company owned by her family* and they didn't immediately recognize and notify the state. After seeing them openly go after people on completely manufactured charges I'm a bit sceptical.

Stealing FEMA funds is top-tier shitty.

That's why Rs are publicizing her after keeping Casthorne, Gaitz, and the slimeball Dulturer from Texas quiet. And they'll use it it to claim fraud, deny funds to the needy.

Of course they are going after a Black woman. Wouldn't think of going against all the people who committed fraud with PPP loans under Trump tho.

This implies that because (white) people on the other side of the aisle commit fraud the Congresswoman shouldn’t be held accountable for allegedly stealing millions in taxpayer funds. If she’s found guilty in the court of law, she should face accountability. So should Republican lawmakers who commit fraud. Both things can be true. As a BW, I find it a little insulting when people lazily throw around the “going after a Black woman” assertion. We are capable of following the law and elected officials, more than anyone, quite frankly, should know better.

The allegations against her are pretty egregious and extensive; it should be fascinating to see how they try to spin her way out of this one. ". . .But instead of returning the ($5.1m) overpayment, Cherfilus-McCormick and her brother moved the funds to several other bank accounts "to disguise its source,". . . and a campaign staffer allegedly funneled some of the funds to friends and relatives, who donated it back to her campaign disguised as their own personal contributions." She also bought herself a 3.14-carat yellow diamond ring, jewelry from Tiffany & Co., a Tesla, designer clothing, high-end hotels and a cruise, and accepted an $800K payment from a Haitian oil company.

Speaking as a person who has never voted Republican and doesn’t know the details of the case. I am totally for this investigation. If she did it throw the book at her. That said I would totally look at the evidence with a huge fist of salt and take into account that this is happening to her and didn’t to others.

Perfectly fine with this provided that the exponentially more massive amounts of GOP grift and theft is prosecuted next. Not holding my breath...

Remember, this is CBS, the new Republican news source.

Usually they just settle quietly. A public trial means the committee has receipts they actually want us to see.

If she committed a crime she should be held accountable 100%.

Possible second career as an Oprah impersonator, though
