Guess who was [praising](https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/netanyahu-praises-hungarys-viktor-orban-ahead-of-elections/) Orban last month too. > Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu effectively endorses Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in next month’s elections in that country, saying the strongman leader “has been like a rock.” > “You need leaders who can protect against this rising tide [of Islamic terrorism], and can ensure safety and stability for their own countries,” Netanyahu says in a video message to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Budapest. “This is what Viktor Orbán has in abundance.” Actually, I wonder. This article doesn’t say that the Iranians accepted. I wonder if they suspected a trap or a trick. I mean yeah this is kind of suspicious.

You can always count on this administration to be on the wrong side of *everything*. They are consistent as hell.

And it's unfortunately the only consistency.

>You can always count on this administration to be on the wrong side of *everything*. They are consistent as hell.  Oh, I'm quite sure they are on the side they want to be on, and it's not ours.

Care to point out anything incorrect on the topic of Orban? Or are you just here to spew some bullshit and then scurry away while whinging something along the lines of TDS or whatever line you cultists clowns use these days.

Russia was actively helping Iran target US soldiers and Trump didn't give a f***

It just demonstrates the stupidity of MAGA and Trump. They went in and destroyed all the old school intelligence people, the ones who understood the historical intelligence networks and game play. Then they put the moronic barbies and social media effluencers into these positions and wonder why they get outgamed. The stupidity is hilarious to watch.

Actively slipping notes to the opposition while sitting at the NATO table is certainly a choice. That internal group chat has to be completely melting down right now.

Honestly, it makes sense why they would conclude this was in their best interest. Israel conducted the operation through a company based in Hungary without the involvement or knowledge of the Hungarian government. I’m sure Hungary was not happy to potentially have a target placed on their back for a terrorist organization. Based on my understanding, the information they provided was only with respect to the pager attack, probably aiming to convince Iran/Hezbollah that they weren’t involved. Information about the attack likely had limited use since the attack had already happened and Israel would be unlikely to be able to successfully use the tactic again.

I might be missing some point here, but Israel isn't in Nato.

Iran is closely aligned with Russia, which is the primary country that NATO exists to defend against.

Hungary's population better get their act together and vote this piece of shit out. The world needs to sanction all of these fascist/putin type govt's. Its up to Hungary's people. Otherwise they can FRO.

Orban is polling badly, but, these wannabe-fascists tends to do better when the results come in than the polls suggest. He probably loses, but i simply don't have much faith in humanity anymore. Hungary should be forced to leave EU if he remains in power though.

He is strong among the poorly educated, among rural areas and low skill workers. They suffer from poverty, and when a guy is promising them golden age - they are happy to give him their votes.

_morten_ 2 days ago +23
Its not economics, never has been, its about hating the same people they hate. Besides, Orban has been in power a long time, so evidently it hasn't worked, but they keep voting for the same anyway

Zed_or_AFK 2 days ago +11
Unfortunately, it seems like neither me or or you are a part of that group, so it’s very hard to comprehend what their reasonings are. Same reason why Trump god 50%+ of the votes second time. People truly don’t learn from mistakes, but they are happy to vote against their wellbeing for god knows what reason. I know a decent chunk of Americans, and they are h******* Trump supporters, not all, but people I wouldn’t believe can share same value with Trump - do godify him. Same with other right wing populistic leaders. Just be ab a******, lie and promise a lot, and you will go far.

Even if he loses, the new leader have to face a strong opposition and there is high chance that anything he wants to do to be blocked by the Orban opposition party and have his hand ties until the next elections so they will say 'see? I told you that he cannot rule like I did!' Orban orchestrated a deep system to give him a lot of power with or without him in charge

Man, Hungary’s leaking like a sieve right now. Every day brings a new leak. Someone in a position of considerable access inside Orban’s government really doesn’t want to see him reelected.

What makes this a "nothingburger" to you? Sharing info with the US or Taiwan as allies is one thing, but Iran is not an ally of Hungary or the EU. More importantly, they shared this info with Iran secretly (like the recent revelations about backchannels to Russia) and not just willy nilly as you make it out.

This one is a real doozy since Netanyahu supports Orban. So what, is he just selling things to the highest bidder?

I wonder if we should trust the news source Ynetnews is owned by the Yedioth Ahronoth Group, the publisher of Israel's highest-circulation newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth. The group is controlled by Arnon Mozes, and the website serves as the English-language online outlet for the Yedioth media empire, which also includes Calcalist, Vesti, and various magazines. Ultra_Metal 2 days ago +8
This is about Hungary getting into bed with the Islamic Republic, but of course you have to make it about the US in order to deflect blame away from Orban the fascist.
8
chemicalclarity 2 days ago +5
I mean JD Vance was just there promoting his reelection, so it's more of a fascist circlejerk at this point.
5
Ultra_Metal 2 days ago
Sure, but this article is about Hungary, Iran, Hezbollah and Israel, not the US. You are inserting the US into a conversation that's not about the US. By doing so, you are distracting people from the actual story and defending Orban.

chemicalclarity 2 days ago +5
You've got fascists fighting religious fascists who were assisted by different fascists, who are being supported by the first fascists who are fighting the religious fascists. It's nonsensical, but here we are, not supporting any of the fascists.
