Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!

pegothejerk Apr 7, 2026 +19
False, kegsbreath expected it, predictable that the fake news thinks he wasn’t alive, wasn’t there, and didn’t already have a plan in place for that, and for cows being thrown over the castle walls. Btw, they’re already out of cows and our swallows have complete air superiority.

Looks like the US is confirming it per Reuters: [https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/us-strikes-military-targets-irans-kharg-island-us-official-says-2026-04-07/](https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/us-strikes-military-targets-irans-kharg-island-us-official-says-2026-04-07/)

I was told all military targets on Kharg were obliterated three weeks ago?
641
SomeBloke Apr 7, 2026 +584
Trump rebuilt them in two weeks. They were the most beautiful military targets in Kharg's history. People came up to him crying and saying it was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen. Then Trump obliterated them again because nobody said thank you.

I don't speak Korean, but this makes me wonder if this is how their North Korean Dear Leader speaks to the people.

Americans have become Terrorists. 2/3rds of 'em let this happen. They'll happily go drive their gas-guzzling SUV to Walmart, paying $7/gallon, and destroy the entire world if it means they get to own the liberals. Sick sacks of shit. Sorry for the 1/3rd of you who didn't want this, but America's image is forever destroyed.
34
fireandiceman Apr 7, 2026 +13
I think our image was over when we elected him the second time. If it wasn't this it was going to be something else. He still wants to do Cuba or Greenland next so we haven't even hit rock bottom on the global terrorism yet. Going to be a long couple years before he dies of hamburger
13
theswiftarmofjustice Apr 7, 2026 +5
As part of that 1/3rd, we knew the instant he got re-elected. Your depiction of that 2/3rds is accurate, they are selfish. And I’m sorry. We failed.

Barack_Odrama_007 Apr 7, 2026 +8
VOTING MATTERED! Everyone was warned yet 90 million people refused to vote allowing 77 million to place Trump back in the presidency. This is a rightful learning lesson to all Americans. F*** up an election, feel it for generations Oh well and good luck!!!

Rural america is about to get economically obliterated.
100
ShedMontgomery Apr 7, 2026 +74
Rural America being economically obliterated is how we got into this mess in the first place. They rallied around Trump because he promised he'd actually fight for them after most politicians turned their back on them over the past 40 or so years. Why they believed him when quite literally everyone was telling them not to is a different story.
74
keeper_of_the_donkey Apr 7, 2026 +6
You already answered your own question. > "everyone was telling them not to"
6
ImaginationSea2767 Apr 7, 2026 +251
Are you ready kids for even higher oil prices! You do have to drive to work do you, because if you did you might have to start losing money just driving to work. But dont worry I'm sure its not like Trump hasn't dragged himself into a war hero cant easily taco himself out of because of multiple reasons and oil is going to get more expensive ontop of the expensive. /s

Trump is actually a genius only you libruls are not getting his megamind!!! Oi prices work on 32bit integers, that means once the oil price reach USD 2,147,483,647 per liter it will overflow and BOOM! Y'ALL BILLIONAIRES!!!!! Praise ~~God~~ Allah (new fuhrer decree, y'all muslims now THANK YOU FOR THE ATTENTION TO THAT MATTER!!!!!) and your new god and savior Donald Jamal Al Trumpara

That's nothing... All things that require transport, petroleum, oil, plastic, food (urea), Helium (transistor), pretty much everything will price through the roof. Oh, and bye bye flights.

Mar 3: "We won the war." Mar 7: "We defeated Iran." Mar 9: "We must attack Iran." Mar 9: "The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully." Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.” Mar 12: "We did win, but we haven't won completely yet." Mar 13: "We won the war." Mar 14: "Please help us." Mar 15: "If you don't help us, I will certainly remember it." Mar 16: "Actually, we don't need any help at all." Mar 16: "I was just testing to see who's listening to me." Mar 16: "If NATO doesn't help, they will suffer something very bad." Mar 17: "We neither need nor want NATO's help." Mar 17: "I don't need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO." Mar 18: "Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 19: "US allies need to get a grip - step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz." Mar 20: "NATO are cowards." Mar 21: "The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don't use it, we don't need to open it." Mar 22: "This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait" Mar 22: "Iran is Dead" Mar 23: "We had very good and productive talks with Iran." Mar 24: "We’re making progress." Mar 24: "[Iran] gave us a present and the present arrived today, and it was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money." Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.”  Mar 26: "Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away." Mar 27: "We don’t have to be there for NATO." Mar 28: No major quote Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing Mar 30: "Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences." Mar 31: Claimed a deal was "very close" and that Iran would "do the right thing" Apr 1: "We’ll see what happens very soon." Apr 2: Repeated that a deal was likely, while warning of continued strikes if not Apr 3: "Something big is going to happen." Apr 4: Said Iran must comply "immediately" or face further consequences. Apr 5: "Open the fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah." I stole this post fair and square from u/BaconManDan9

Idiocracy was released 20 years ago in the middle of Bush's wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. We've known the US was going this way for a long time.

I would take President Camacho over our current clown any day.
70
Ratorasniki Apr 7, 2026 +25
President Camacho actually attempted to solve a problem by finding the smartest person he could and listening to advice, iirc. Stupidity followed, but he seemed to generally care and want to make things better.

chubbybronco Apr 7, 2026 +74
Well idk where you've been but Americans for a while now have become extremely tribal, apathetic, uneducated and only interested in simply entertaining themselves every waking moment.  Doesn't help that every mainstream media platform is just propaganda owned by billionaires whose goal is to extract every piece of capital from the working class. Consume consume consume buy buy buy a bunch of shit to don't actually need.  This country is doomed unless the working class starts to organize. And people stop sending their hard earned money to billionaires in exchange for shit they don't need, we've become brainwashed to consume.
74
Mr_IsLand Apr 7, 2026 +3
agreed 100% - i've really started noticing the past few years how much media is designed to divide people - east coast vs west coast, Giants Vs Cowboys, Red voter vs blue voter, ford vs chevy, realtree vs mossy oak, etc. - so many aspects of our current world are designed to be tribalistic - makes it much easier to get working class people to see each other as the enemy. I'm old enough I can still clearly remember the feeling around the country (and world) immediately after 9/11 - the whole country was united in a way that almost feels alien today - we were not democrats and republicans and independants we were just Americans.
3
CoolAbdul Apr 7, 2026 +3

I watched Join or Die last night, and I think that if we just all joined bowling leagues we could fix our country. Hopefully we’re not too late.
3
NewestAccount2023 Apr 7, 2026 +14
Fox News doesn't play them. The right wing media sphere and elected Republicans playing along with them is the #1 problem. Trump and modern Republicans exist because 100 million people get their news from places (like twitter Facebook, fox, oann, the president) that literally never report this stuff and blatantly and severely sane wash the statements that do make it through
14
___xXx__xXx__xXx__ Apr 7, 2026 +3
Just saying something as regarded as "The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully." should be the end of anyone's political career. What the f*** does "very beautifully" even mean?
3
deadsoulinside Apr 7, 2026 +3
The irony is that MAGA also does not believe some of the posts and will claim it's fake.

7
beastwarking Apr 7, 2026 +5
20? Maybe 30, but 20? 20 years ago we had "mission accomplished," "watch this drive," and Bush reassuring the head of FEMA that he was doing great in managing the aftermath of Katrina. If this was shared to me 20 years ago, I wouldn't be happy, but I wouldn't be surprised.

No, you're going to need to learn how to grow wheat and grind flour.
52
Positive_Total_8651 Apr 7, 2026 +8
Assuming you can afford the fertilizer to keep it going. Those are going up to.
8
Abe_Odd Apr 7, 2026 +8
We can compost on a local level, we only really need industrial fertilizer when we're trying to feed everyone with a handful of farmers. Thankfully the children yearn for the fields

Unless AI has made you jobless. We really live in a cyberpunk dystopia without any of the cool shit like the fashion and robot arms.

Taiwan where TSMC is located sourced ~70% of their helium from the Middle East. Those fabs are the only place to make leading edge chips in the world. If they can’t source helium for etching they shut down production and the whole world is dealing with a massive chip shortage.
43
Lawineer Apr 7, 2026 +17
I’m okay without the fashion.
17
ScreamingFly Apr 7, 2026 +31
And the robot arms to be honest. I'd be fine with a normal, honest life and some neon lights here and there.

Just like our real life austerity, our cyberpunk dreams must also be austere.
4
THEdoomslayer94 Apr 7, 2026 +6
Nah we need cyberpunk 2077 fashion. Where’s the fully chrome celebs and crackheads with a robot arm to perform tricks with!?
6
Davran Apr 7, 2026 +13
Gotta give it time to undo all those pesky rules about human experimentation and create a bunch of people desperate enough to let some AI-addled surgeon play around with them. Then we can get into grafting electronics to the human body for fun and (mostly) profit.

Bro these ships take MONTHS to get from the strait to europe and America's. All of these hikes are just futures/predictions. Half of europe is going to have to start rationing in a couple of months. That's where the fun begins
14
precedentia Apr 7, 2026 +6
The.last few ships are arriving in the next few days. The UK has already had it's last aviation fuel delivery, and regular diesel is due on April 10th. Then we will see what is really going to start slipping.
6
Powerfury Apr 7, 2026 +10
An oil tanker typically takes about 35 to 50 days to travel from the Strait of Hormuz to the U.S. Gulf Coast, depending on the route, vessel speed, and Suez Canal accessibility. A journey around the Cape of Good Hope takes 10 to 14 days longer than the Suez route. Key Factors and Times: Route via Suez Canal: Roughly 35–40 days, depending on speed and congestion. Route via Cape of Good Hope: Significantly longer, often exceeding 45-50 days,,, added in situations such as [this recent,, 2026 crisis,. Tanker Speed: Typical tanker speeds average around 13–14 knots (approx. 15 mph). Average Trip to Atlantic: A journey from the Persian Gulf to the Atlantic is a major, long-distance trip, as the tanker must traverse the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, Red Sea, Suez Canal, and the Mediterranean before reaching the Atlantic. The pain is just going to start coming. It's wild that MAGA still exists at this point. They will defend anything.

thepeddlernowspeaks Apr 7, 2026 +29
Can't they aim for some golf courses while they're at it?
29
EgoTripWire Apr 7, 2026 +30
Iran could just take out their desalinization plants. Can't pump oil if your population is dead from dehydration.
30
Brave-Dragonfly3798 Apr 7, 2026 +27
The entire island and all the tankers could go up and that’s the end of the gulf for years. This is going to be bad.
27
joshbudde Apr 7, 2026 +13
Attacking the desalinization plants is a last resort thing. Because while it will absolutely hurt the surrounding countries, if you press that button, it's going to be like kicking an ant hill. Those countries are going to to cross the gulf and pour into Iran with everything they have. Its real MAD territory.
13
TheVandyyMan Apr 7, 2026 +16
Well good thing Iran’s government isn’t chock full of theocratic extremist psychos being forced into an existential crisis by America and Israel’s governments, which also are not chock full of theocratic extremist psychos. Because otherwise I’d be worried that this might get bad.
16
GangHou Apr 7, 2026 +15
They did attack Jubail Industrial City last night. Responsible for 85% of refining and petrochemical industry in Saudi. An intercepted missile fell on a friend of a friend's house, luckily no injuries.
15
Ultra_Metal Apr 7, 2026 +7
They were already doing that.
7
FangioV Apr 7, 2026 +6
Yeah, it’s hilarious how some users say “Oh, no, now Iran is going to get serious and start attacking energy infrastructure and desalinization plants. It’s over” when they have been doing that for weeks.
6
marx2k Apr 7, 2026 +266
Crude Oil is $3 short of the peak in 2022. I'm guessing by end of day it will be way beyond that. Good luck farmers. Good luck motorists. Good luck anyone that buys anything.
266
theotherWildtony Apr 7, 2026 +94
Oil needs to get to about US $247 a barrel to equal its previous all time high back in 2008 in inflation adjusted terms. Still a way to go yet.
94
GodZillion Apr 7, 2026 +48
Dont stop believing, we can do it!
48
Abject_Breadfruit148 Apr 7, 2026 +28
Can't wait to smile at $10/gal gas knowing that because of inflation it is still not at all time highs!
28
guydud3bro Apr 7, 2026 +27
Oil at $247 today would bring the global economy to its knees. Even MAGA would be wanting to impeach Trump at that point.
27
ComeOnIWantUsername Apr 7, 2026 +54
They would still find an excuse to not blame trump
54
JoeRogansNipple Apr 7, 2026 +19
They're finding excuses for his pedophilia. Its not just mental gymnastics making them look like pretzels, Its an Olympic gold level performance at this point.
19

I really doubt there's anything that would make maga want to impeach Trump. They'll just blame Obama and move on.

Trump really just wants to stimulate China's EV industry
236
Livid-Bicycle-3715 Apr 7, 2026 +102
Xi is probably quite happy that they have the near monopoly of the all kind of green energy manufacturing capability- solar to wind
102
JoeRogansNipple Apr 7, 2026 +15
They probably hate it as their energy costs are still skyrocketing like everyone else's. But the ones that will suffer the most are SE Asian countries, which then China can push even more influence onto.
15
HystericalSail Apr 7, 2026 +6
Don't even have to push. "Americans setting the Middle East on fire with their wars is why you can't afford to feed your kids" is a narrative that sells itself.

17
canada_mountains Apr 7, 2026 +36
Not just China's EV industry. Like all EV makers that sell EVs outside the US. In Australia and New Zealand, there was like a record sales of EVs in March. New Zealand has had an actual run on EVs. In Australia, I wouldn't consider it a run yet, but many dealerships in Australia are low on EV supply as well. Pretty much most of the EV brands in Australia and New Zealand have seen record sales in March, including Tesla, some of the European EV brands, and of course the Chinese EV brands. I have read news reports of very high EV sales in other countries as well (aside from the US and Canada). It would be interesting to know what is happening in the rest of the world.
36
mmbc168 Apr 7, 2026 +15
As an EV owner, it’s pretty terrible that we are letting the Chinese go leaps and bounds ahead of us in the EV game. By the time America realizes oil isn’t the future,Chinese vehicles will be so advanced we will never catch up.
15
DawnSennin Apr 7, 2026 +5
This is the result of crony capitalism and lobbying. The wealthiest Americans and their companies could give a hoot on what China is doing as long as they’re making money from the current arrangement. This is what Carl Sagan warned about thirty years ago. Unlike China, the wealthiest people in the West dictate technological progress in their regions.

ch4ppi_revived Apr 7, 2026 +113
I wonder.. for the cost of this war, we could have easily build a pipeline past the strait right?
113
Zestyclose_Pickle511 Apr 7, 2026 +60
Three of them.
60
GlbdS Apr 7, 2026 +19
They can reach Guam, that pipeline would not be safe
19
ch4ppi_revived Apr 7, 2026 +27
It's about having the pipeline without having attacked Iran in the first place
27
lost_horizons Apr 7, 2026 +16
We didn't need the pipelilne before the war, the strait was open.
16
ch4ppi_revived Apr 7, 2026 +8
That is the entire point... The US spend billions on this war, lost the world Trillions probably by now. If they were actually thinking ahead they could have helped build additional pipelines and give Iran way less leverage, once they attacked or even without attacking. Why do I have to spell that out?
8
EnthusiasmUnusual Apr 7, 2026 +6
Well they weren't bombing oil infrastructure a month ago.  It would have been if the US and Israel hadn't launched an illegal war.

Yeah, Im sorry but you are all getting tarred by him and if you really want to be absolved you need to *actually* try and secede. 80million of your countrymen voted for this and you cunts need to own it.

Really eerie too, considering the ratio of trump loyalists to everyone else is about the same as it was during that one conflict in the 1860s 🙄
16
Joice_Craglarg Apr 7, 2026 +55
You're right. I voted for Kamala, as did my whole county. But, we live in a red state, and it didn't mean shit. We have to own this, and we have to fix it. I don't care for my fellow Americans who try to act like it isn't their problem. It's all of our problem, as well as our responsibility.

14
Lo_jak Apr 7, 2026 +69
This war is about to change the world for generations to come....... this was Irans line in the sand and any attack on Kharg island will been seen as a green light to bomb everything, nothing is off limits to them now. Most of us are just trying to get by in life and wars like this hurt everday working people the most.
69
chelandcities Apr 7, 2026 +18
I'm not sure the war hurts every day working people the MOST. Probably the families of the children and innocent civilians who are killed (on all sides) are hurt the most.
18
Lo_jak Apr 7, 2026 +9
Thats what I meant tbh, my point is that its innocent civilians will suffer the most from this war.
9
Rangas_rule Apr 7, 2026 +21
I guess also including the innocent civilians in Iran and Lebanon?

I hate the TACO bullshit. People love it because it makes fun of Trump and is often accurate but for fucks sake it sounds like egging him on to do more and stop being such a little b**** backing out. Like, the vast majority of narcissistic injuries related to chickening out do not lead to more chickening out but more doubling down and feeling like they have to go through with shit. We want him to back out and stop doing all the fucked up shit he does. If TACO was even more true, I would be a lot happier. It's GOOD when Trump backs off his plans.

Given the choice of cracking jokes or not having thousands of Iranian civilians die, people here are taking the jokes all day. Not like they’re in the blast radius.

Aim? plan? there is none. Trump thought he could waltz in like with Venezuela and Iran would roll over for him. Iran have been planning for this for years, it's only now the US have someone stupid enough like Trump in charge that Israel got their wish and attacked. Iran can't hit the US directly, so by hitting other gulf states they know that will cause economic pain for the US and the world. Trump slagged off most of the US allies and wonders why no one would come and help them sort out this mess themselves and Israel had created.

They hit military targets on the island again, not the oil infrastructure - as the IRGC warned them not to. Just more sabre rattling

MissSephy Apr 7, 2026 +19
Reports seem to have this attack allegedly originating from the Israelis which is interesting if credible. It sounds like the Israeli administration is realising that the Americans are desperate to try and extricate themselves from this mess, and they are pushing escalation to keep them embroiled. That's not an excuse for American stupidity, but it does mean trying to resolve this becomes even more difficult.

No one wants to die because of the US’ hubris. That’s why almost everyone doesn’t want to send their forces to help even if the Iranian regime is deplorable. The US did not even inform its own allies of what they’ll do, plus Trump has been blasting their own allies for months leading up to this conflict. They also do not seem to have a long term plan beyond bombing Iran and the IRGC. They did not even mobilize opposition forces to try and take over the country (as they did in Afghanistan).
