Representation of Big Stars and Industry Persons?

Posted by higzgridz

Alright, everytime I am reading casting news, there is always part at the bottom of the article that this artist is represented by so and so. Like, once you are famous and such, is this mandatory? I mean, you can have a mommager or is it really necessary to be represented?

nah once you hit certain level you basically need representation because the business side gets way too complicated. like when you're doing multi-million dollar deals and contract negotiations, you can't just wing it even if your mom is good with money plus agents have all the connections and know which projects are coming up before they're public. without that network you're basically flying blind in the industry. sure some people try to go solo but it usually doesn't work out great for bigger stars

It’s basically “mandatory” once you’re big, not by law but by survival. Deals, scheduling, rights, PR, stalking weirdos, all filtered. Momager works…until Marvel calls.

of course, reps cut out most bullshit trying to reach to the star etc and they know how the sausage is made, do not for one second think studios are your friends etc.

you do, once you get to a certain level, you basically become a legit business, with all the complications that comes with running a business.
