They are in damage control trying to prevent him from ruining their reelection chances. He is very obviously deteriorating in real time and they are just waiting for him to die so they can fundraise and give stump speeches at his funeral before moving on and trying to regain traditional Republican control again.

Alrighty then. Go ahead and drive that wedge to further open that "reconciliation" loophole. May as well get rid of the filibuster, at that point, because it WILL be used against you later on.

The parliamentarian is going to kick out the vast majority of this stuff. If they override the parliamentarian that's the same thing as abolishing the filibuster and Republicans have already made it clear they have no interest in that because they correctly realize the filibuster primarily obstructs Democrats.

I’ll give them this.  I originally thought even with all three branches controlled that they don’t know how to pass bills and govern but finally they are doing something.
