The last few seasons have been 'couple of very good episodes, couple of OK episodes, couple of lousy episodes' - I'd be fine with that again to be honest

ImpossibleGuardian Apr 7, 2026 +229
Kind of been the case since Season 3 hasn’t it? Agreed though, so long as they keep up the same consistency I’ll be happy. Might just wait until it’s all out and binge it though.

Spaceballs_the_tag Apr 7, 2026 +111
I think almost every season has more solid-good episodes than not, but 4 & 5 just really stink with multiple pretty questionable storylines, but 7 & 8 were kind of a good return to form. Still not great, but not a bad show to throw on that's kinda fun.

BroughtBagLunchSmart Apr 7, 2026 +106
This show has become "wait til the season is over and watch all 10 on a Sunday and never think about them again until you see the post for the next season"
106
Spaceballs_the_tag Apr 7, 2026 +14
Exactly! Preferably slightly altered
14
bad_apiarist Apr 8, 2026 +5
Which is really sad for a show that was once magnificent and mold-shattering. Now at best it's "pretty decent mostly". ugh.
5
Spaceballs_the_tag Apr 8, 2026 +6
They say hindsight is 20/20, but I think it wasn't sustainable. It went pretty hard with its mold-shattering and irreverence to the medium, so when they don't mind burning it all down for a gag like they did at the beginning of season 3, that payoff may be huge, but makes it hard to rebuild. I'm actually glad it reached a level of solid & still kinda enjoyable instead of constantly trying and failing to reach the highs of the first 3 seasons.
6
bad_apiarist Apr 9, 2026 +2
That might be true. But if it is, I'd rather they just have done 3-4 seasons and brought the series to a satisfying finale.
2
degggendorf Apr 8, 2026 +1
For me it's what I reach for when my wife is traveling and I have nothing else to do
1
br0b1wan Apr 8, 2026 +7
Yeah, I mostly agree. But I'd say the last couple seasons are a lot closer to the first few than they are to 4&5. The problem a lot of fans have is that the characters were allowed to develop since then and that's changed the dynamic of the show. I say for the better.
7
ilovemymonkey1980 Apr 7, 2026 +3
I loved season 4 personally.... Each to their own I guess ☺️
3
Radix2309 Apr 7, 2026 +7
4 is underrated imo. 6 was pretty great. I have felt like half of s7 and s8 are not as great. S8 in particular feels a bit weaker to me.
7
PuzzlePiece90 Apr 7, 2026 +2
This. 4 ranks in the middle for me (top half). I have recency bias so I don’t know how to rank 8 yet but 7 and 5 are my least favorites, while 6 is honestly top two for me.
2
stallionsRIDEufl Apr 8, 2026 +1
I'll never understand the hate for 4. I think 2, 3 and 5 are at the bottom. Season 1 will always be untouchable at the top.
1
ahuangb Apr 8, 2026 +2
Season 2 at the bottom? Wow, never seen that opinion before
2
PuzzlePiece90 Apr 8, 2026 +1
Mostly agree. For me 7 is near the bottom between 3 and 5 (which is my least favorite). But even the bad seasons are more inconsistent than bad, and have some great episodes. 2 might honestly be my favorite though.
1
Heisenburgo Apr 7, 2026 -9
Which season was the one with the goddamn sibling incest baby and that entire episode about Jerry f****** his mom. All that shit was nasty and bordering on 4chans level of disgusting-ness. I hope the writers from that era got freaking SACKED alongside that creep Roiland.
-9
welchplug Apr 7, 2026 +4
For one: it was freaking hilarious, it just wasnt for you and thats ok. For two: None of the writers are getting sacked for awesomeness and good ratings. For three: Justin Roiland hasn't been involved since 2023.
4
Paralystic Apr 7, 2026 +53
1-3 for me is all bangers. 4-6 was a mix of serviceable, solid, and a few bangers sprinkled in. Theres maybe 2-3 episodes in that entire run that I would skip but even still respect them. 7-8 though? Theres multiple episodes per season that I feel are complete trash. But also still solid episodes mixed in and the bangers are still just as good as the rest of the bangers imo, so theres still a lot left for me to want to watch.
53
Iliketoplan Apr 7, 2026 +65
But we got the Jerry multiverse episode which might be one of the best
65
GoTron88 Apr 7, 2026 +16
This one, the Hole, the spaghetti episode, Jerricky and evil Morty episodes are great IMO.
16
bangdizzle Apr 7, 2026 +12
But to his point, we also got the Easter Jerry episode. Most skippable episode in the show IMO lol
12
somethingstoadd Apr 7, 2026 +43
The Full on ICE T episode is the real skippable episode. Easter bunny one was mild compared to that shit show. Best episode so far is the hole.
43
Jaambiee Apr 7, 2026 +8
Jerry’s Easter song alone makes me enjoy the episode
8
Heisenburgo Apr 7, 2026 +7
>the ICE T episode Oh right... THAT was a thing. That episode was just pure noise to me honestly. Could not bear myself to watch it all
7
MLGLies Apr 7, 2026 +3
I mean, it’s a great episode if you love puns…
3
TheMadBug Apr 8, 2026 +1
He got so mean after he got that cool jacket
1
JSmellerM Apr 7, 2026 +22
ngl the seasons are still better than my life which is mostly shit.
22
MattIsLame Apr 7, 2026 +4
and thats why we watch anything. escapism from the waking nightmare that is the present
4
DuncanYoudaho Apr 8, 2026 +1
“Come watch TV”
1
Satryghen Apr 7, 2026 +6
I could have done without the second inter dimensional cable episode. The first one was an interesting experiment, found the second one tedious.
6
Raidoton Apr 7, 2026 +8
For me it was saved with the plot outside of the interdimensional cable stuff. With Jerry in the hospital where he is expected to donate his p****. And some of the skits were fun too. Overall okay episode. But the later replacements like Morty's Mindblowers and Story Train were better.
8
taln2crana6rot Apr 7, 2026 +8
But how else would you know how to make a regular old plumbus?
8
Scharmberg Apr 7, 2026 +2
Feels like that has been the case for the entire show. Though a few of the early ones I’m not as big on as some and I like the dragon and thanksgiving episodes while a lot of people don’t.
2
br0b1wan Apr 8, 2026 +1
I'd say seasons 4-5 were a low point. That was the aftermath of Roiland being banished to his home studio. There was some chaos. It got better since then. I really liked 7-9 in particular.
1
oby100 Apr 7, 2026 +1
Season 3 was great. Season 4 was heavily mixed. Season 5 completely lost the spirt of the show and was mostly awful, culminating in the infamous incest baby episode, but there’s flashes of classic Rick and Morty. Seasons after that turned into a terrible sitcom completely divorced from anything that ever made the show good. The jokes are insanely lazy and formulaic with random sci-fi action sprinkled in.
1
RoboChrist Apr 7, 2026 +3
Crow Rick was pretty good though.
3
SteamedGamer Apr 7, 2026 +1
I'm definitely waiting for the whole season to come out and binge it in one booze-filled weekend. BRAAAP!
1
KaJaHa Apr 7, 2026 +37
That honestly sounds like perfectly reasonable expectations for any show
37
Jercek Apr 7, 2026 +2
That's true, but most of the very good episode have been all the *"feels"* episode or with very expertly crafted end of episode [montage](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRdAmIoWt6o)
2
SpicyAfrican Apr 7, 2026 +2
I thought half of season 7 was really good. There was one certainly lousy episode, and the rest were fine. I think R&M is a show that shouldn’t have high expectations put upon it. It’s a a fun serial adventure show with a couple of canon episodes for plot development. Enjoy it as it is.
2
chamberx2 Apr 7, 2026 +3
Yeah, I agree with your sentiment. Honestly, expecting consistent quality from anything Adult Swim is only setting yourself up for disappointment.
3
bartekkenny Apr 7, 2026 +2
Same the good episodes hit harder when you have a couple silly episodes.
2
oli_ramsay Apr 7, 2026 +3
Didn't they sack the co creator?
3
ShimReturns Apr 7, 2026 +62
Yeah but apparently he had been checked out for multiple seasons and was just doing the voices by the time he was canned
62
Leavingtheecstasy Apr 7, 2026 +87
For good reason
87
illz569 Apr 7, 2026 +67
Who's main contribution was being able to riff for forty minutes like "I'm a guy! Uh, I'm a guy with a big butt made out of cheese! Look at my cheese butt! It's so cheesy and I'm a guy and there's cheese on my butt! Uh, um, when I sit down it's so cheesy because I'm a guy with a cheesy butt! I'm a guy and I love being a guy who has cheese on his butt and I love cheese and I love my cheese butt! F*** you kill yourself!"
67
Justhe3guy Apr 7, 2026 +36
Wow that’s half the humour of the show
36
huluhulu34 Apr 7, 2026 +11
That is riffing on a level that is sublime
11
jmur3040 Apr 7, 2026 +5
If you've ever heard Dan Harmon improv, he also does this. Arguably better than Justin Roiland ever did.
5
illz569 Apr 7, 2026 +5
I have, and he definitely does, hahaha. But unlike Roiland, I feel like Harmon has a well of writing knowledge that he can easily draw from in the middle of his improv, which makes it far more engaging.
5
chamberx2 Apr 7, 2026 +5
Yeah, that's why I can't finish High on Life. It's a slog of a game.
5
sanebyday Apr 7, 2026 +2
I enjoyed playing High on Life, but I get what you're saying. Have you tried High on Life 2? I actually liked it a lot more than the first one.
2
oby100 Apr 7, 2026 +1
He hadn’t been contributing even that since season 3 at the latest. He only provided voices and zero creative input past that.
1
CordiallySuckMyBalls Apr 8, 2026 +1
Sounds like every season of every show ever I enjoyed them, some more than the first few seasons. I will be watching this one also.
1
bad_apiarist Apr 8, 2026 +1
I'd also be happy if they just let it die.
1
flow_fighter Apr 7, 2026
Unfortunately the case for most sitcom/season style shows. Community suffered the same fate at the end, but still had some banger episodes. Nobody remembers every Simpson’s/family guy episode, but they remember the hits. As long as you have a few absolute bangers and the rest of it is tolerable-funny, I’m happy with that
0
hoorah9011 Apr 7, 2026 +4
What are you talking about? Season 5 and 6 were great
4
BeeMac0617 Apr 7, 2026 +244
I’m still on board with this show tbh. It’s not as good as seasons 1-3 were generally but each season still has at least a few bangers. The episode last season where they were trying to rob that ship in cryosleep was awesome. Give me a few of that quality per season and I’m happy.
244
AlchemistFornix Apr 7, 2026 +27
Summer of All Fears was probably one of my favorites ever
27
juesea Apr 8, 2026 +2
I love the spaghetti episode and if they still have episodes of that quality, I'm gonna keep watching.
2
PuzzlePiece90 Apr 8, 2026 +1
Personally I preferred seasons 4 and 6 to 3, but the last two seasons rank near the end for me. 5 remains my least favorite but even that season has several great episodes.
1
CunninghamsLawmaker Apr 7, 2026 +141
Hundred years!
141
RookNookLook Apr 8, 2026 +3
This looks like classic season 1 adventures!
3
BloinkXP Apr 7, 2026 +55
Still love the show... I haven't seen a season yet I would be OK with missing.
55
Raidoton Apr 7, 2026 +7
There have been quite a few episodes that I didn't regret watching but I also had no desire to rewatch them. Not bad, not great. But the first couple season I rewatched almost every episodes at least once. Now it's like 2 per season.
7
redknight1313 Apr 7, 2026 +7
I find myself rewatching the later seasons more often than the first couple. Mainly because I like how the characters are developed and their dynamics have changed by then. Seems I’m in the minority on that though.
7
mayamalicious Apr 8, 2026 +1
I rewatch Rick and Morty alot/have it as background noise and most of the time when I'm actually watching it I skip to season 4
1
bfhurricane Apr 8, 2026 +1
This is my comfort/background show, I’ve casually watched through it probably 4-5 times. The only episode I consistently skip is the Numbericons episode.
1
Jealous-Try-2554 Apr 8, 2026 +1
So you didn't see season 5?
1
BloinkXP Apr 8, 2026 +1
Heh, even Season three was entertaining.
1
MisterIndecisive Apr 7, 2026 +13
Season 8 was pretty good IMO (can't remember if it was 5 or 6 that was really bad and one after just decent), so keen for this
13
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +11
Imo 8 was the best in a whole. 1-3 are untouchable, 4-7 were pretty hit or miss (but the hits were still fantastic) and I thought 8 was really strong all the way thru
11
EnigmaticGolem Apr 7, 2026 +2
I thought season 7 was better than 8, excluding the first episode, but the voices were a bit better in season 8
2
PuzzlePiece90 Apr 8, 2026 +2
5 is my least favorite and 6 is one of my favorites personally.
2
SirTurtletheIII Apr 7, 2026 +82
The perfect show to watch super fried
82
MalIntenet Apr 7, 2026 +17
Had it on repeat during college…which I was coincidentally super fried through. I remember the wait for S3 being unbearable and the hype being at an all time high. Good times
17
TheIInChef Apr 7, 2026 +8
I remember we had a Rick and Morty social at my uni back in 2015 when it felt like it hadn't quite hit the mainstream yet It really felt like this cool underground show which seems silly in hindsight haha
8
Flagermusmanden Apr 7, 2026 +66
Holy shit, is this show really on its ninth season? F***, I'm getting old.
66
Steamedcarpet Apr 7, 2026 +64
It feels so weird to remember when the show aired and how big it was at the time. I was telling friends about it and getting people to watch. Hell I remember videos of people going insane for the schezwan dipping sauce at McDonald’s since it was referenced in the show.
64
IamEclipse Apr 7, 2026 +49
The Schezwan sauce was 8 years ago at this point. Time isn't funny.
49
Steamedcarpet Apr 7, 2026 +10
Im not sure if it’s because I am about to be 38 or getting a facebook message about our 20th high school reunion but I have been thinking more and more about how much time has passed. I hate it.
10
DoctorDrangle Apr 8, 2026 +3
If you think 38 is bad, just wait until 39
3
Popular-Fee9888 Apr 7, 2026 +1
Mulan came out in 98. S3e1 came out 2017. So there's as much time between the episode and now as there was between the sauce's release and the episode.
1
giskardwasright Apr 8, 2026 +1
Your math aint mathing. 98-2017 is 19 years. 17-26 is 9 years.
1
Deezer19 Apr 7, 2026 +5
I saw Deadmau5 perform under his alias Testpilot during the peak of the sauce hype, and he had bought a jug of the Szechuan Sauce for $15,000 and brought it to the venue and bought McNuggets for everyone in attendance so everyone could have some of the sauce.
5
Creepy-Business4345 Apr 8, 2026 +3
Yo lowkey this is such a great story lmfao
3
TipProfessional880 Apr 9, 2026 +1
I was working at McDonald's while I was in college when that all happened. I was clocking off *right* as that episode had dropped & we started randomly getting phone calls about it. I remember making myself a burger right after clocking out for the night & the other shift leader answering the phone & asking me if I knew anything about a "Szechuan" sauce. I shook my head & thought nothing of it and left work. Got home, took a shower, played some video games, then when my roommate got home, we watched that episode. As soon as it got to that part of the episode, my heart dropped lmfao. I legit shot out of my seat & yelled "Oh my god No!" my roommate had no idea why I was freaking out about it hahaha. I shot a message to my coworker & asked if he'd been getting any more phone calls. He responded like "It won't f****** stop ringing. I don't know what's going on!" I got to break the news to him about it lol. The next few weeks at work were fun. The worst was when McDonald's announced that a *very* limited run of like only 20 sauces would be released to certain stores. Our store was like one of maybe 5 in my state to be "confirmed" to be getting some. We had to disconnect our phone that morning because people were calling us from *hours* away. Like 10+ hours. My shift was over that day at 10am, so before lunch started & I remember the line of people outside stretched around our building. The worst part: we never even got the sauces. Not until the big roll out a few months later.
1
GetReady4Action Apr 7, 2026 +14
dude, it turns 11 years old this year. I was a junior in high school when the first season dropped. the Szechuan sauce incident was 9 years ago.
14
mormonbatman_ Apr 7, 2026 +10
> 11 years old this year 13. It premiered in 2013.
10
GetReady4Action Apr 8, 2026 +2
*F***.*
2
Flagermusmanden Apr 7, 2026 +6
... oh my god.
6
dragonflamehotness Apr 8, 2026 +1
I was 11 when I first watched it. Wild.
1
Umbrella_Stand Apr 7, 2026 +2
You must be at least nine, right?
2
Flagermusmanden Apr 7, 2026 +1
At least eleven, surely.
1
br0b1wan Apr 8, 2026 +2
9th season, but it premiered all the way back...in 2013
2
TheRiverFjord Apr 7, 2026 +15
I have never watched this show. Maybe now's the time to finally take the plunge.
15
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +19
Seasons 1-3 are like a fever dream. The rest are still very good but feel different. The show has got some great concepts and interesting scifi twists. Imo it's the best show like Futurama since Futurama.
19
WR810 Apr 8, 2026 +2
That copypasta about needing to be smart to enjoy Rick and Morty applies to Futurama so much better.
2
sup3rdr01d Apr 8, 2026 +3
Futurama has a ton of actually smart, science based inside jokes but the main plots and character dynamics are just as stupid as Rick and Morty. Which is a good thing.
3
br0b1wan Apr 8, 2026 +1
It's because seasons 1-3 follow the exact same format. Without getting into spoilers, each of those seasons has eight "stand-alone" episodes that you can pretty much watch on their own out of any order. One episode is an anthology episode, and one episode is a plot-arc episode, but it won't be immediately apparent at first. After season 3 things start to untangle a bit and you start seeing more plot-arc episodes (continuity) episodes, "meta" episodes, and recurring secondary characters.
1
Pretty-Objective5151 Apr 7, 2026
It’s so much better than futurama
0
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +4
I love the original Futurama. The new seasons are meh
4
Pretty-Objective5151 Apr 8, 2026
Rick and Morty is better than old futurama. Yes yes subjective opinion I know.
0
bfhurricane Apr 8, 2026 +2
It’s a great show, I’d recommend it.
2
SouthIsland48 Apr 7, 2026 +1
Its insanely overrated
1
The_Wattsatron Apr 7, 2026 +100
Not sure why this show has been getting so much hate lately. The quality has always been consistently the same, and I honestly think some of the best and funniest episodes have been from S4 onwards. There's a lot of rose-tinted glasses involving the first few Seasons. Either way I'm always looking forward to new Rick and Morty.
100
Raidoton Apr 7, 2026 +13
Because the quality hasn't been consistent. It has gotten worse. Simple as that. > There's a lot of rose-tinted glasses involving the first few Seasons. Or a lot of recency bias with you. I rewatched the first 6 season not too long ago and the first 2 are still absolute peak. 3 and 4 are still great overall. The rest is very mixed and ranged from great to bad.
13
Khiva Apr 8, 2026 +2
> 3 and 4 are still great overall Nobody can agree. People routinely shit on 4 and 5 in particular.
2
oby100 Apr 7, 2026 +5
Whether you love or hate how the show is nowadays, I can’t imagine anyone seriously believing the quality of the show has been consistent for 8 seasons. You really have to have your eyes closed to have that take.
5
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +24
It has been consistent. Every season has had some bangers and some duds. That's consistency. And the great eps, while being rare, have been really good imo I think season 8 was the best in a while overall and a return to form imo. Even tho 4-7 still had its moments.
24
SolarSurfer7 Apr 7, 2026 +1
You're correct. As many other commenters have mentioned Season 1 through 3 was one banger after another. Must see TV. It took a plunge after Season 3.
1
Nzy Apr 8, 2026 +1
Season 1 is in a tier of it's own.
1
apple_kicks Apr 8, 2026 +1
Curse of comedy is it can loss its luster over time even if its still hitting marks
1
strolpol Apr 7, 2026 +5
Animation quality looks very good
5
Sleepy_Azathoth Apr 7, 2026 +8
I don't remember the episodes of the previous seasons, but I do remember having a blast watching them. Can't wait.
8
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +3
I love this show. I think the latest season was the best in a while and a return to form. I also watched the whole thing without once remembering the voice actor change. Nothing will ever be like seasons 1-3 again and that's ok. It's still a very fun show with some interesting concepts.
3
BaggyHairyNips Apr 7, 2026 +6
I watched an episode of season 8 on a plane and it was pretty good. I expected it to have fallen off a lot more than it has by now.
6
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +2
5-7 was the low point. I really liked 8 and thought it was a return to form
2
EnigmaticGolem Apr 7, 2026 +5
Season 7 had the spaghetti and fear hole episodes though
5
chirpz88 Apr 7, 2026 +3
This show has bits that I say daily. When changing a diaper I look at my son and say nano doctor, and he giggles and then I say nano scalpel and then I giggle. F****** cracks me up man.
3
demise0000 Apr 7, 2026 +3
I'm excitoked!
3
MaresATX Apr 7, 2026 +3
Season 9: they’re still in the hole.
3
NATHAN4U007 Apr 7, 2026 +53
Feels like one of those long running shows that you once loved but you see a new season trailer and go "Oh this is still going?"
53
Tolkien-Minority Apr 7, 2026 +32
They renewed it for 7 new seasons years ago remember back when it was at peak popularity. Idea being they’d get 100 episodes and be able to sell it for syndication
32
Steamedcarpet Apr 7, 2026 +12
Do Adult Swim shows ever go to syndication? I feel like all their original shows never end up leaving the channel.
12
TylerBourbon Apr 7, 2026 +23
And what even does modern syndication even look like in the world of streaming?
23
Steamedcarpet Apr 7, 2026 +5
I have been watching cable a bit more again via Youtube TV. Adult Swim, Comedy Central, and FXX will all have Family Guy episodes on at the same time for like 2 hours each. Some nights it’s Bobs Burgers.
5
Emm_withoutha_L-88 Apr 7, 2026 +2
I actually love it cus they're good background noise. Sometimes you don't want to have to watch TV closely and just want it on in the background.
2
scruffye Apr 7, 2026 +1
I can't speak to the current market but I'll always remember about 20 years back my college professors talking about watching heavily edited South Park in syndication on their local, tiny broadcasting channel. I have to imagine the market still exists, even if it's changed since then.
1
Steamedcarpet Apr 7, 2026 +3
I remember seeing random syndication of South Park on channel 11 in the NYC area. It was so weird to me. Now Comedy Central will run South Park just all day.
3
Coolman_Rosso Apr 7, 2026 +1
Most cable channels have been reduced to reruns, so there's still a market for it.
1
Tolkien-Minority Apr 7, 2026 +4
I don’t think they’ve ever had a show that reached the minimum requirement before. But Rick and Morty having 100 25 minute episodes would make that so. Also consider its mainstream popularity at the time of the deal being made and it makes business sense to prepare for that.
4
sup3rdr01d Apr 7, 2026 +4
It's been pretty good all the way thru imo. Nothing will ever touch seasons 1-3 but overall it's been enjoyable
4
admiral_rabbit Apr 7, 2026 +2
Yeah, this post is how I found out there was a season eight I've not seen lol
2
apple_kicks Apr 8, 2026 +1
Probably out of it’s peak but still getting higher audience than most with merch sales
1
Creative-Package6213 Apr 7, 2026 +7
Ok this actually seems decent.
7

I'm just surprised at the amount of people who are counting season 3 in what they see as the "good seasons".

Jesus what an amazing trailer. If you’re an 80s kid like me.

Charrbard Apr 7, 2026 +2
Loved it. Animation seems up a notch, but maybe just the way the trailer is cut. Half of listnook tries to get its snob on, but I hope the show continues for a long while. There sure as hell isnt much else i want to watch. Not sure why the show still having an audience really irks some people, but here we are.

I'm actually having a pretty good time with TV at the moment. Currently watching new episodes of Scrubs, Invincible, and The Pitt, with Malcolm in the Middle and The Boys coming this week, and now Rick & Morty on the horizon. Not bad.

This post reminded me that Listnook is such a bubble. All the comments are like “oh this is still on” and “ehh it’s okay” or other passive aggressive stuff. In my life, I hear so many ppl talk about this show and liking it, I see so much merch being worn, kids repeating the jokes. It’s crazy how Listnook-holed we can be

Tried catching up on Hulu since I hadn't watched regularly since season 4 or 5 and after a couple seasons, I just stopped. Just doesn't feel compelling to watch anymore.

This show is a reality check to where I’m at in life every season

So I can watch these if I have HBOMax? Or will I need an additional Adult Swim subscription to watch these?
1
Raidoton Apr 7, 2026 +1
I'll watch it. It will probably be like the previous 4 seasons. Most episodes good enough for a watch and then immediately forget it with 1 or 2 banger episodes.

Rick and Morty’s voice actor is getting better and better at their voices
1
Hairy-Summer7386 Apr 8, 2026 +1
I still remember talking with friends about how Rick could possibly escape the galactic prison and what it means for the Smith family going forward. Then Pickle Rick happened and undid all of the character growth of the previous season. I enjoy the show for what it is now but man the show had actual potential

I was a big fan but lost interest over time. It still has a couple decent episodes per season. Personally though I think they made a mistake by making the show so episodic and not pursuing a more overarching plot line. When they did it was great stuff (the evil Morty storyline or Prime Rick). At this point the adventures just feel stale.

May 24th. Alright. Not gonna lie the last couple seasons have been uneven but I'm still here. The show is at its best when it balances the sci-fi nonsense with actual emotional stakes. If season 9 goes full "rick is invincible and nothing matters" again I might finally tap out. But every time I say that they drop one episode that reminds me why I watch this show in the first place. Cautiously optimistic I guess

Are they just growing on me or did Ian and Harry improve at doing the voices? I dont mean "oh they sound more like roiland", they genuinely sound better at voice acting these characters in their own right?

I still look forward to Rick and Morty every season.

I don't have cable and I pay for no advertisements on basically everything so I didn't hear about this., I just randomly googled "Is Rick and Morty getting another season?" Tonight and found this., it's like the universe said I can't get enough

Supadupasloth Apr 7, 2026 +1
Oh god great we now get a thread of people talking about how they hate it cause it’s not as good as the first 3 seasons. What’s the point oh there were some good ones and some bad ones the last few seasons. Just don’t watch it or do watch it. If any of these shows go on long enough people gripe gripe gripe. It the same show. This is literally copy paste from every trailer of this show.

Is it worth picking up again? I think I stopped somewhere around s5. No particular reason just never bothered.

megalo-maniac538 Apr 7, 2026 +9
The characters grow every season. There's still your typical episode, some depraved. You'll see Rick grow overtime. This season's dilemma is morty and summer being too arrogant because they've been capable and skilled like rick

bahumat42 Apr 7, 2026 +1
Its pretty enjoyable, I wouldn't rush out to watch them all but there are solidly funny episodes every season.

HasSomeSelfEsteem Apr 7, 2026 +1
I’m long gone from this show. I’m just not interested by the same tired jokes about happiness being stupid and cynicism being there sign of intelligence.

CatMomNextDoor Apr 7, 2026 +1
Can’t wait, I love this show. I know some people don’t like the last couple of seasons but I really enjoyed them, a few episodes in particular. I’m excited to see what they’ve cooked up for this new season.

They still doing it? Tbh I'd thought they'd stop like one or max two seasons in without Justin.

Bring back Justin Rolland and I’ll watch again. The voice changes didn’t work for me.
